13:35

Top Fuel Dragster match race 3

Thomas Nataas 5.471/281.46 def. Darryl Bradford 29.568/27.04

A burnout to about thirty feet for Thomas, Darryl chirped the throttle out of the water just to clean the tyres. On the green both cars hooked up, then at about forty feet the rear tyres of the Wright Racing Top Fueller went up in smoke and there was a brief flash of flame - so much smoke that the car disappeared! Thomas hit shake at about fifty feet, 0.940 to sixty feet where the caterpillar tracks are clearly visible, Thomas pedalled at about 100 feet and got back on the throttle, the car drifted towards the guardrail - in fact the tyre marks at about 700 feet can't be more than a yard or two from the armco - but Thomas was obviously determined to put on a show and he stayed with it all the way to the finish line.

13:25

Roger Goring's latest pass in the Firestorm Jet Funny Car was a cracking 6.373/251.38. The flame show on that car is really thumping, stuff falling off the tables here in Race Control, and a couple of fireballs out of the tube, nice one Roger!

13:10

Pro Modified match race 3

Danny Cockerill 6.611/215.71 def. Gordon Appleton 7.448/152.16

Side-by-side burnouts to 100 feet today, on the green Danny's Chevy hooked up and went driving through a small amouth of shake but going straight and hard all the way, Gordon's Camaro hit shake at thirty feet, Gordon tied to drive through it whilst the car headed purposefully for the centre line. Gordon wrenched the car straight, staying on the throttle all the while, and the car headed for the left guardrail but Gordon wasn't getting off it for anything! The track crew were picking up small pieces in Danny's lane but Sharkman at trackside reported that the pieces didn't look like aluminium - word just reached Race Control that the lane is liberally coated with small pieces of one of Danny's rear lights.

The Top Fuel match race has been slightly delayed whilst a rose joint is repaired on the Wright Racing car. Next up is Roger Goring in Firestorm.

12:55

Well done also to Wilf Stacey who got out of shape and had his car sideways and up on two wheels in his match-up with Ian Hook, a great driving job by Wilf kept the car out of trouble.

An interesting race between Jamie Sneddon and Ivan Birch, Ivan's bike bogged off the line, Jamie shot up the track then was off the throttle at half track, Jamie turned round to see where Ivan was, he gestured at Ivan, Ivan was back on the throttle and almost chased Jamie down!

Good morning and welcome from Shakespeare County Raceway. It's race day at the Custom Car Magazine Allstar Nationals and we're here to bring you all the news in association with American Car Imports.

The Webster Race Engineering/MPM Oil webcam is on-line and broadcasting a picture every two minutes.

It's a beautiful day again today, sunny and warm. Weather conditions at trackside are 19.9 C, 72% humidity, and 30.06 inches of air.

The traditional raceday Hello to our US correspondents Ed O'Connell and Kathy Hileman who are tuned in from Rye, NH. Hope you are enjoying the coverage guys, even if if is not a public holiday on that side of The Pod...your turn will come.

We missed it at the time in all the frantic typing to keep up with qualifying standings but congratulations to VW Sportsman racer Paul Day who took the Eurodragster.com/Speedflow Perfect Light Award with a 0.000 Reaction Time in yesterday's first VW Sportsman qualifier. Paul is £50 better off and the Award has been reset to £50 for the FIA European Finals.

If you tuned into the webcam before we switched it on this morning, you may wonder about the picture which was on display all night. What you were looking at was a practice session by the Allstars Mule Stunt Performance Team who are rumoured to be appearing at the European Finals instead of Jason Finn. The team were rehearsing with their new member, Fuel Altered driver Mickey Moore, who being no stranger to peril willingly joined the team of Lee Child, Darren Prentice, Jon Cross and John Hackney. We understand that Moo discovered a new and different appreciation for Santa Pod's Race Director Darren who has apparently also taken up bodybuilding. Stay tuned for more details on the Mules' next appearance.

A potentially worrying sight in the pits this morning was Ian Hook of Street Eliminator team FB Racing holding a plate of salad. Luckily it transpired that he was only carrying it to the waste bin.

Racing is scheduled to start at 11:00 so stay tuned and as soon as the action starts we'll bring you all the results.
