Top Fuel match race 2

Andy Carter 6.416/139.95, Thomas Nataas no show

Thomas Nataas blackened the crank and damaged the block of the Batmobile Top Fuel Dragster so Andy Carter takes the bye and a 2-0 match race win for GoTalk. A great-looking launch, 0.891 to sixty feet, then the tyres started to shake at about 100 feet, Andy pedalled at about 250 feet then got back on it and the tyres went up in smoke. Andy got off the throttle at half track where he was clocked at 184.46 mph, and rolled through. No new track record but Andy was trying very hard.

The last run of Power Nationals weekend was a 6.352/248.22 by Roger Goring in the Firestorm Jet FC.

Good morning and welcome again from Shakespeare County Raceway on a beautiful morning. It's qualifying day for the Power Nationals and we're here to bring you the action in association with American Car Imports.

The Webster Race Engineering/MPM Oil webcam is on-line and broadcasting a picture every two minutes.

Trackside conditions right now are 19.3C, 53% humidity, and 30.53 inches of air pressure.

The usual raceday Good Morning to our US correspondents Ed O'Connell and Kathy Hileman in Rye, NH. A big Hello also to all the good people of Volkszone who are tuned in to see how their friends get on, and finally good morning and Get Well Soon to Kirstie Tramm who has been unwell and who we understand may not make it to the track today; hope you feel better soon Kirstie, we're missing your brightening up our day.

Super Comp/Super Gas racer Malcolm Francis asked us to say "Hi, we miss you" to fellow racer Tim Adam.

When we left you last night it was quite late and we were not sure that we would be able to bring you any pit notes; by the time we had sorted ourselves out and hit the pits it was way past eleven o'clock and just about everyone had finished for the night so we called it a day.

The plan for today is to bring you the round winners in all classes, plus of course the results of the Top Fuel match races - two are scheduled, at 13:30 and 16:45 - and Roger Goring's runs in the Firestorm Jet FC. Roger was not able to put in a pass yesterday afternoon as we ran out of time. We will also have start line pictures today courtesy of our good friend, legendary photographer Roger Gorringe.

Eliminations start at 11:00 so stay tuned and we'll bring you all the news as soon as we can.
