The revs zingedm then a flash from Eurodragster.com sponsor Peter Walters' engine and then he shut down early, hopefully not a big problem. A few pit notes courtesy of Steve Moxley (reporting for ACU, Custom Car, and EatMyInk.com this weekend) while we wait for the conditions to improve. Paul Marston's Cortina Mk 5 was in Street Eliminator when owned by John Hollingsworth, but Paul has fitted slicks on. The massive torque generated by the twin turbocharged engine was enough to break a UJ on the propshaft which came clean out of the back of the car. Crewperson Sam Marston said 'I think we've discovered the weakest link'. Dave Cherrett hasn't been out today and has suffered a puncture and broken starter motor which are being repaired today.

In Comp Bike, Mick Winyard has suffered a damaged transmission, but has been able to swap over to his spare bike and run a best of 8.417/173.16. Meanwhile Martin 'Chunk' Walker was delighted to have run a best of 8.251/177.49 and lead after the second session of qualifying. And Kevin Osman recorded a PB of 188mph.

We will be recommencing in five minutes. Stay tuned.

Paul Brown's engine emitted a loud bang on a smoke-free burnout and Paul wisely sidelined the car immediately. Having been checked by marshals he restarted, and completed his run clicking off at 330ft. Possible backfire? Stuart Doignie improved but no change in position.

Currently on hold for spots of rain.

Good morning and welcome to our coverage of the 10th Anniversary APIRA Open Sport Nationals brought to you in association with John Woolfe Racing.

The track has dried nicely overnight and it is cloudy but warm. Qualifying is due to commence with the classes not run in the second session yesterday with Super Pro ET and Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator up first.

The track crew is trialling some boards in the centre refuge near the burnout area which display a racer's dial in to enable them to be checked more easily.

You will see from the event index page there are no pit notes as your pit reporter will be writing the race report. We will have photo galleries and many thanks to contributing photographer Callum Pudge for stepping in to help.

Good morning to Grace, Tog and Julian in Tierp who are covering the race which you can follow by clicking here. Good morning also to all of the Eurodragsterholics, hope you enjoy the double header coverage.
