After Ian Powell briefly assumed the lead, Rick Cooke took over the no.1 qualifying position with the help of a pushrod borrowed from Outlaw Anglia racer Paul Hensher. Liam Jones reportedly is travelling to a local Halfords to source a replacement belt. Dave Catton had to withdraw due to being unhappy with a rattling sound in the transmission of his dragster, however every cloud has a silver lining as he has joined Barry Bohannan as colour commentator for the class.

A wild launch for Gary Gooding who is running in this class as preparation for the Street Eliminator wars.
