Back up and running with Wild Bunch session 1.

12:55

The sky is blue and the track team are hard at work drying the racing surface.

After the first few pairs of Wild Bunch cars went through, we had a rain shower. Stay tuned while the track dries.

We are now aiming for a 10:30 start. Stay tuned.

Good morning and welcome from Shakespeare County Raceway for our coverage of the APIRA Springspeed Nationals brought to you in association with Alamo Rent-A-Car.

The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line and will be broadcasting video and audio as long as the track is open. Thanks to our good buddies at Doyousee.me for streaming facilities.

Here at Shakey it's currently dry but cloudy after an early morning shower. The track is almost dry and the riders and drivers have been called for the pre-race meeting at 091 5.

It's the 40th anniversary of Long Marston Airfield holding organised drag racing events and to commemorate the huge contribution of the late Alan Wigmore in establishing it, the racetrack has been named Wigmore Way, which is shown on signs each side of the start line.

Sadly, Outlaw Anglia racers Simon Barlow and Dave Sidaway have had to withdraw and we wish them well and look forward to seeing them later in the year. Super Pro ET racer Simon Gough's attendance is also doubtful following an incident at a motorway service station involving a coach with its handbrake left off running into Simon's rig. We understand Simon's car is undamaged which is more than can be said for his trailer and we send best wishes to the team for extracting the car and finding a suitable replacement trailer.

We have three cycles of qualifying scheduled today and we are due to start at 10am with the Wild Bunch. Stay tuned and as soon as the wheels start to turn we will bring you the news.
