We are now on hold while Marie Jeanne is attended to by medical staff and her car recovered, with the guardrail needing repair. On the restart, with Marie Jeanne given the all-clear, Christophe Dubois put in a pass in his imported 582cu in Pontiac GXP.

10:50

The track drying is coming along nicely and we are hoping for a start in the next hour. Super Pro racer has been up to the tower to say his seven second dragster has a new fuel injection system, a torque converter that can handle the additional power and data logging to help with the tuning. He said "I hope to run quicker than my 7.8s best." If racers have any snippets of news, pop up to the tower.

09:40

Good morning and welcome from Shakespeare County Raceway for our coverage of the Stripe 21 Open Sport Nationals held by APIRA and brought to you in association with Alamo Rent-A-Car.

The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line and will be broadcasting video and audio as long as the track is open. Thanks to our good buddies at Doyousee.me for streaming facilities and to Tim Long who is helping us with web cam setup. Sound output is going to be a while in coming and Tim and tech head Simon Day is working on it as we type.

After early morning rain, the weather is now dry and the track crew and marshals are hard at work drying the track surface. We will let you know as soon as we get a revised starting time.

We have three cycles of qualifying scheduled today and we are due to start with Super Street Car followed by Super Pro ET. Stay tuned and as soon as the wheels start to turn we will bring you the news. In the meantime follow our coverage of the Scandinavian Internationals and a very good morning to our colleagues Tog, Kirstie and Patrik at Tierp.
