That's the end of our coverage of the Open Sports Nationals, thanks very much for tuning in. Our next event coverage will be photo reports and webcam from next weekend's pre-FIA European Finals testing at Santa Pod Raceway.

This weekend's Event Coverage has been brought to you in association with American Car Imports.

The track crew kicked in and started work to dry the track but then we had another heavy downpour so racing has been called off. So that's the end of the Open Sports Nationals, a real pity since it's been a great event.

Stay tuned as we are working on today's pictures, they will be available in an hour or two.

15:00

Nostalgia Fuel Altered Association session 4 (left lane first):

Clayton Round 7.206/185.02, Frank Bennett shut off, Bob Glassup 10.750/173.22, Joe Bond 13.243/56.37, Dave Grabham 8.393/170.65 bye

Great paired burnouts from Clayton Round and Frank Bennett, Frank going to about 300 feet and rolling to a stop pas half track. Frank Bennett was shut off for a fluid leak before staging so Clayton took the bye and as we know and love he used up a lot of his lane on the way to the finish line. A spectacular pairing between Bob Glassup and Joe Bond, at the hit Joe's altered headed left and he crossed the centre line just ahead of 330 feet and slalomed around the reflector, in the other lane Bob's tyres blazed so much that the car hardly moved forward. Bob pedalled at about sixty feet and the tyres hooked up and he caught and overtook Joe who was idling down the track. Dave Grabham's altered also got a bit wayward in his bye but he calmly pedalled it and clocked his quickest run of the weekend.

Trackside conditions at the start of the NFAA were 19.7 C, 22% humidity and 29.68 inches of air.

Congratulations to Tim Blakemore on the UK's first 200 mph Funny Bike! Tim went too fast to have the 200.71 backed up by yesterday's 195.81. That wasn't the end of it, though, as in the next-but-one pairing Neil Midgeley backed up his 199.89 of yesterday for another new record. Well done Midgo!

Top Fuel Bike final:

Steve Carey 7.213/182.09 def. Ian Turburville 7.781/179.45

A great race, Turbo got the jump off the line and clocked a new PB, well done Turbo, Steve rode through some fishtailing and took the stripe by 0.286 seconds. Steve came up to see us a little earlier and he told us that he is getting used to the way the bike moves around, on this evidence he has a good handle on it.

Good morning and welcome from Shakespeare County Raceway for day three of the Open Sports Nationals. It's race day and we're here to bring you all the news in association with American Car Imports.

The Webster Race Engineering/MPM Oil webcam is on-line and is currently broadcasting a picture every sixty seconds.

Right now it is raining quite hard, this also happened about an hour ago and then the sun came out and dried the track in a moment so fingers crossed for a repeat. Weather conditions trackside are 18.5 C, 27% humidity and 29.68 inches of air.

The usual raceday Good Morning to our US correspondents Ed O'Connell and Kathy Hileman who are tuned in from New Hampshire. Hope that you're having a good day guys...oh hang on, it's not a Public Holiday over there is it (wicked smile).

Eliminations start with Junior Dragster; stay tuned and keep an eye on the webcam and as soon as the weather improves we'll be right back.
