Smoke out of James Auld's engine in the shutdown area. Bob Hawkins not only restarting after the engine stopped, but doing a 3 point turn in the starting area (versatile!), engine hunting as he reversed from a smoke-free burnout. 6.7360/198.94, 1.0148 to 60ft and 4.3030/160.62 to half track. Ron White with a 10.9993/110.84 for his first ten second pass, well done Rob! Rob had said he would propose to his girlfriend if he ran a ten, and now he will! Allan Schofield with a slightly wayward car, Keith Crampton sans wheelie bars for the weekend, but still went 9.68.
First appearance for Leo Knight who was waiting on parts until just before the event, no wheelie bars, 2nd gear launch to a creditable 8.1297/161.38

Bradley Cooper pushed back against Rich Butcher, Allan Schofield got very close to the left wall and pedaled his altered, Bradley Cooper given a second shot and went +0.0020! Alan Skipp rolled through the beams which cost him some time. Dan Jones driving Ragin' Cajun as Wayne Colliver pushed back. Steve Field moved around his lane and he lifted to a time more suited to Super Comp than his 8.45 dial-in. Rob White had a problem getting the engine on Happy Daze going after a couple of tries and towed back to the pits. Phil James ran a solo close to dial +0.0240 as Andy Jackson had problems and was pushed back from the burnout area. Bob Hawkins had a great run to 6.8527/192.13, 1.0226 to 60ft and 4.3639/160.63 to half track.

Cut-off of 32 cars so there will be a bump spot. Andrew Bishop with a +0.0124 on his run. Then in the second pair Gary Cork and John Sleath into #2 and #3. Neil Francis up to #2. In the next pair newcomer Max Reed with Reedy's Dart, immaculate car. Newcomer Bob Gallagher with the ex Niamh Smith car spun the tyres against Pete Christmas who wheelied into #4.
Ty Strevett had a spanner fall out of the engine bay before he staged, recovered by Ian Marshall. Lee Chiles with a wheels up into #4. Newcomer Sam Slater in a Duster against Chris Tyhurst into #5. Former Junior Dragster racer Matthew Dowdy in a Nova, sluggish launch in his first run against Glynn Boardman who was pushed back. Then Stewart Arthur on a single into #5. Duncan Watts in his Challenger against Paul Singer's Dart which was the first car to break out (by 0.004) and thus goes to the bottom of the pack.
Phil Hobson v Pete Wiseman (NSS72), second to break out, by 0.008. Alan Huckle v newcomer Holly Butcher, Holly goes +0.0046 and into #1! Then Stuart Kiwi Thompson with a safe 9.70 dial v Connor Hall. Then Dave Billadeau in Yorkshire Heavy v Chris Goodale in Russo's Rat into #6. Glenda Thompson (Charger) v Jason Dodd (Trans Am) into #3. Ash Rawson into #8 v Adrian Portelli who suffered a little wheelspin after a wheels up launch. Pete Dodd also with a safe dial in 9.10 but rolled the beams. Don Scott also a little off his 9.58 dial in. John Wilson and Dan Sanderson two newcomers. Keith Williams in a Nova into #4 with his first competitive run for almost 6 years, alongside Simon Rickwood in another same model Nova.

Good morning and welcome to day 3 of our NSRA Nostalgia Nationals coverage from Santa Pod Raceway. The weather is sunny with a rapidly clearing sky and temperatures on the rise too, 13c rising to 18C this afternoon, wind 9mph from the west, and adjusted altitude around 700ft rising to 1100 ft.
As you can see from our report, yesterday was a washout without a wheel turned on track, today looks much brighter. We have a revised running order which allows for a one-shot qualifying session starting at 09:30 with eliminations beginning later in the morning, you can see the revised schedule by going to our Event Index.
Hi to all Eurodragsterholics tuned in, we send greetings and commiserations to Perfect ET Award sponsor Andy 'Fadter' who suffered major engine damage in his first burnout of the event, hope you can return soon Fadster. Commiserations also to Rob and Pete Brown, whose Wrathchild dragster suffered transmission issues that can't be fixed here (happy Birthday to team member and Rob's fiancee Hayley Fyfe), and Mike Couch, whose slingshot has a damaged diff.
Track drying at the top end and prep is under way, we'll be back asap with our one-shot qualifying.
