Johnny Oksa 15.0427/44.63 v Sandro Bellio 5.6923/260.66. Hi to Jonny Lindberg who is tuning Johnny's car remotely. Sandro left early and had a 1.0785 60ft and 3.8078/207.78, Johnny shook the tyres 1.1002 60ft then off the throttle.

Mick, intereviewed by Darryl Bradford said he was happy with his first run in the new car which had been a huge amount of work for the team.
Peter Kunc 6.2724/229.33 v Jon Webster 7.2945/230.12. Bump spot battle, with Jon on #16. Peter gave it his all but had to pedal it with tyre shake and on and off the throttle with flames from the nitrous engine, 1.0280 and 4.1376/179.24 to Jon's up in smoke 1.2348 60ft.
David Smith NTR v Wyane Nicholson 6.4028/217.01. Staging issue for David who rocked out of stage and shook the tyres after getting a red. 1.0637 and 4.2392/180.65 to half track. Bump spot confirmed as 6.2468 (Jon Webster), compared with a European record bump spot of 6.232!
Andy Robinson 14.5402/36.72 v Freddy Fagerström 6.1710/228.99. Burst panel explosion for Andy, 1.0360 to 60ft, Freddy on 1.0297 60ft and 4.0413/186.21. All Freddy's runs between 6.17 and 6.23, Freddy saying "Michael Gullqvist is my tuner and he is slowing me down, I think because I have just one engine." Pause for cleanup in Andy's lane.
Michel Tooren 6.0698/242.74 v Bruno Bader 5.9578/239.89. Bruno quickest in round so far and up from #10 to #8, 0.9843 and 3.9084/191.76, steered away from the centreline, Michel not recording a correct 60ft and 4.0312/192.07. Bruno said his gear ratio was not optimal, a problem with others too who are relying on spares.

Steve Ashdown 4.5450/203.47 v Jason Phelps DNS shut off. Jason's engine with a big fuel leak, shut off. Steve's revs high but the team adjusted it after the burnout so he could reverse. Nice run for Steve, a wheels-up 0.9260 to 60ft and 3.4557/229.20 incrementals, Steve steered it away from the centre line at the eighth and a puff of smoke at the end. Crew chief Dave Bryant expressed his satisfaction.
Kevin Kent 5.8221/123.75 v Patrik Pers 5.5471/120.60. Kevin with his spare Dodge Stratus SPR liveried car with the engine and trans from his other car. Kevin's sole run yesterday resulted in his Monte Carlo being damaged from a titanium rear axle snapping, a very unusual incidence. Patrik double stepped off the startline, 0.9378 and 3.8715/159.30 to the eighth, by which time he was off the throttle, Kevin .9921 to 60ft and 4.0476/142.35 to the eighth. Track being checked, Kevin Chapman still to run.
Time Trial/observed run for Kevin Chapman 6.0617/111.39, nice 0.9746 launch however a cylinder out and 4.1056/130.25 to the eighth, off the throttle after 330ft. Nicely steered away from the centre line too.

Huge cloud of nitro fumes and some flames from Susanne's engine, a lot of work for the teams before Q4 this afternoon.

Mats' car cleaned up after transmission 3rd gear damage from towing the car out of the field. Nice runs, incrementals Mats 0.9683 and 3.8608/191.26 and Andy 0.9853 and 63.9729/190.15. Bump spot now Jon Webster's 6.2468.
Wayne Nicholson 6.9177/207.13 v David Vegter 5.8697/242.35. Great run and improvement in #2 for David 0.9686 and 3.8499/192.64 to Wayne's 1.0002 and 4.5596/155.74, Wayne's Vette making a move after 330ft and back on it.

Peter Kunc NTR v David Smith NTR both went before the tree ran, the cars ran good and straight but no times. These two are currently outside the show and threfore move to the last chance saloon that is Q4.

Jean had a problem filled run, left before the lights run and a part came off at 1000ft. Jean's chutes came out and he came to a safe halt. Pause for track check.

Another good run for Kieran Astley, 7.4877/175.74 on a 7.53 dial. Tom Atkinson +0.0134 on dial. Ron Bartlett now running nitrous on each pass to try to get into the 7.8s, ran 8.0719/170.38 alongside Daniel Giles with another 7.4171, all eight runs from Daniel 7.40 to 7.42! Colin Millar dialled 6.95, shook the tyres to 9.86 as Andy Thetford ran a great 8.0005/173.67, much better run for him and hinting at the car's potential.
Callum Swinchatt up from #20 to #15, in the top half of the field now. Patrick Dubois 6.9036/201.48 on 6.96, his best ET of the event so far (6.96 dial). Jack Brewster 8.161/173.71 in #28 alongside Eurodragster.com sponsor Pete Walters' 7.8511/169.13 in #21. Jon Turner up from #37 to #36 and Daniel Fulton up from #24 to #16. No improvement for Liz Malcolm in #31.
Harley-Jay Darby in #37 broke out and is not in the show. Susie McClure in her first race weekend in the Eye Candy dragster up from #42 to #39 with a nice 11s run. Ozzie Brown remained on the bump, Darren Huxley a DNQ. Ronnie Mercer up from #30 to #26 as Doug McClure not qualified.

The untiring track crew have effectively relaid the rubber in the whole of the right lane after scraping it off yesterday, it having been contaminated by jet fuel. Further spraying and sledding of the right lane is taking place to ensure that it is in race ready condition. Stay tuned.

Good morning and welcome to day 3 of our coverage of the 2023 FIA/FIM-E Euro Finals from Santa Pod Raceway. The sky is completely clear and temperatures noticeably higher than this time yesterday, currently 19C and forecast to go u pto 30C, remarkable for September. The wind is a negligible 7 mph from the south west. Density altitude from airdensityonline.com, is currently 1500ft and is predicted to rise to almost 2700ft, with 87-93 grains of water, worse atmospheric conditions than yesterday. As yesterday, we will report on the KEG traction readings at the top of each day's page.
Yesterday was a long day, not finishing until 21:05 with Graham Syke's record beating steam bike run. There were a number of oil downs but fortunately no incidents apart from Kevin Kent's axle shearing Funny Car run which fortunately ended with only the broken axle and a little accompanying damage. Many others had late night thrashes to repair for today. But the heroes of the day were the Santa Pod track crew which proved their world class by working very late after a jet fuel spillage in the last but one run of the day. Take a bow guys, you are the best.
