First pair Maarten Zijlstra lost fire against Jordan Kenway following engine repairs since an Easter burnout catastrophe. Maarten did a full pass, not as quick as his test run yesterday on a new-to-him machine previously raced by Dave Buttery. Then Lorcan Parnell on a great pass alongside Dave Peters, 1.158 60ft for Lorcan and 4.4597/160.64 to half track.
Then Eric Richard in his first event of the year alongside Roger Moore. Roger lost fire as Eric ran a nice easy looking pass to go #1, 1.076 to 60ft and 4.3901/163.60 to half track.

Nick Good with his supercharged car breaking out at 6.815 as Alan Didwell went into #2 with a 0.0022 RT, close to the Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award sponsored by Cath and Tig Napier to whom greetings. First time on track this year for Brian Pateman as Andy Thetford pushed back. Joe Kellett's dragster slowed and was breathing quite heavily down track, we hope it is not a repeat of last meeting's problems. Laura Baynton and Dave Rudd first out, Mason Griffiths into #1 two pairs later. Ronnie Mercer sans nitrous against Marc Huxley who tested at the Scott Lewry private test, running into the 11.3s now. Simon Fulton back in his Falcon this event after the Brogie roadster in the previous event, with a quicker 9.1 and running a 9.0687, one of his best. Brother Dave Fulton went to #1 in his Nova with +0.004 on his dial, close to the Perfect ET Award from Andy Hadfield and Twister race team.

Good morning and welcome to Santa Pod Raceway for day 1 of the rescheduled 2023 Festival of Power. The weather is sunny with temperature of 8C forecast to rise to a relatively balmy 15C. There is negligible wind and the air according to the excellent airdensityonline.com is again excellent, with sea level adjusted altitude forecast to rise to 500ft or so.
Yesterday your editor had a day off from reporting duties for the test day, however thanks to Adam Bentley of the Santa Pod timing crew, we had access to all the data from ETslips.co.uk which we analysed to deliver a table of the best runs for each of the racers present - you can see this information in our report for yesterday. A big thank you to Julian and Diana who went to the track to take photos of the testing which you can also see via our event index.
Hello to Eurodragsterholics everywhere, we have had messages of support from supporters Bob Roberts, Mike Kraaij and Outlaw Anglia co-ordinator Colin Millar who is recovering from an epic trip to South Africa in time for next weekend's Nostalgia Nationals.
Today will be qualifying with three sportsman sessions planned, plus a lot of exhibition runs and pro class qualifying. Keep an eye on this page for the latest results.
