Wendy Baker 7.5611/154.20 This is the final as Tony Betts, with oil pump repairs occupying yesterday, did not make a qualifying pass. Slight concern over Wendy as crew leaned under the car before it went into pre-stage and removed something. Tim away first 0.1588 to 0.4725, then well ahead 1.0432 to 60ft and 4.0786/183.46 to half track to Wendy's 1.2431 and 4.7373/153.70 to half track. Straight run for Tim, Wendy's Mustang drifted left and hit the finish line blocks. Pause to replace blocks. Followed by a time trial for Tony Betts, the car sounding strong on the line although Ian Marshall spotted something near the injector hat. The weather is cloudy and dry - it did rain overnight so track drying efforts, particularly in the shutdown area, are in progress and it is coming round nicely thanks to Ian Marshall and the SPRC track crew. Temperature is 11C rising to 14C and adjusted altitude is 300ft rising to 700ft with about 55 grains of water. Yesterday we had the remainder of qualifying with a couple of pauses for minor oildowns. The Pro and Exhibition vehicles put on a great display and we'll see more of them today. Kevin Kent got to do a full bore pass with the West Ten Motorsport Funny Car and his 4.35/273 to 1000ft makes him the quickest and fastest on the property. Much work goes into the running of these vehicles and all the teams should be congratulated for their efforts. Today will have eliminations for all sportsman and ACU classes, we got the first round of Super Pro and Pro ET, bar the last three pairings, done last night and the order will continue this morning.
