Neil Midgley 6.7794/143.07 def. Steve Woollatt 24.4663/27.42. Neil off the throttle with chute out by 1000ft as Steve had problems and was off the throttle shortly after the launch. 1.0103 to 60ft and 3.9877/183.98 to half track for Neil, Steve's 60ft of 1.4692, 0.4s slower than his best this weekend told the story but no obvious damage.
Followed by Luke Stevenson who ran his first eight 8.9180/147.14 with 1.2201 60ft and 5.6269/120.84, just shy of the 8.88 which Paul Jackson had agreed that Luke would buy him a tattoo. Now assembling finalists, stay tuned.

Drama in the first pair as Brett Cordelle went skyward on his Hayabusa on the launch and came off the bike which slid down to the 100ft mark. Ambulance crews attended the scene, Brett was taken to the medical centre for observation and seems to be in good spirits, we wish you a speedy recovery Brett.

Holeshot win for Lee Huxley who has solved his gearbox issues at the start of the event. Breakout for Leigh Morris. Breakout for points leader Brett Featherstone. Breakout for Mason Griffiths too. First round win for Dan Fulton. Allan Schofield over Pete Dodd, win margin 0.0192, just under 4ft. Then the Junior Comp dragsters of Nick Mugridge and Will Clark, Nick pulling a red light but a good run for him. Geoff Cowley broke out against John Bean. Ronnie Mercer broke off the line and Amy Watkins kept over her dial for the win. Andy Garnett broke out giving Dan Holloway the win. Last pair Dave Fulton broke out.

Good morning and welcome to the final day our coverage of the STP Springspeed Nationals from Santa Pod Raceway. It's a little bit warmer here, 11C forecast to rise to 16C with a negligible wind speed of 7mph. Density altitude is currently -227ft and courtesy of airdensityonline.com this is expected to rise to 500-700ft during the afternoon.
Yesterday was challenging, with a bitter wind and intermittent drizzle for a lot of the morning. The track crew did their usual fantastic job getting the surface into a racing condition and we completed qualifying sessions 4 and 5. Today will be eliminations, starting with the classes that will be running five rounds, Pro ET, Super Pro ET, Junior Dragster, Sportsman ET and ET Bike, followed by VWDRC. We're looking forward to a great day of racing.
A big Hello to those that are tuned in from around the world. We send special congratulations to Pro Modified racer Bobby Wallace and fiancee Ellie Davis who announced their engagement yesterday. Congatulations to Ollie and Hannah King who were married last weekend in Weymouth. And Happy Birthday wishes to Top Fuel racer Ida Zetterström who we will see racing here at the FIA/FIM Main Event in just under four weeks' time.
