09:00 Good morning and welcome to day 3 of our coverage of the 2022 NSRA Hot Rod Drags from Santa Pod Raceway. It's another lovely morning with just a few wispy clouds, not quite as chilly with temperatures of 10C rising to 16C with a 16mph wind from the northwest. Density altitude which we obtain from the excellent airdensityonline.com website is betweeh sea level and 700ft which is similar to yesterday, i.e. prime conditions for personal bests, of which a lot were recorded yesterday as you can see in our race report. Today's plan is for eliminations in Outlaw Anglia and Gasser Circus with more runs from the Supercharged Outlaws, Wild Bunch and Nostalgia Superstock in their "average closest to dial" competitions. There will also be four run what ya brung sessions. Notable from sessions so far is the sole nitro fuelled car here, Robin Read's Daimler powered dragster which ran 6.916/192.04 on Friday but suffered broken gears in its rear axle. Robin reported on social media The team had removed the axle, returned to base (better known as the Shed) and rebuilt with another set of gears, a 3.23 ratio compared with 3.54 earlier which should increase the mph. Also repaired and ready to run today is Supercharged Outlaw Roy Wilding who went home for some spare rocker arms. Championship wise, in Gasser Circus Ray Irish is 90 points ahead of Billy Jones, meaning that whoever goes further in eliminations is the champion, and Ray will be champion if they both go out in the same round. In Outlaw Anglia the six second protaganists and friends Jedd Guy and Colin Millar are also less than one round apart, whoeever goes further in eliminations is champion and if both go out in the same round Jedd will be champion. Stop press: Jedd is unfortunately out with a split timing belt which cannot be replaced, thanks to Jemma for providing the information, Colin will be champion if he stages in round 1.
