Good morning and welcome to day 1 of our coverage from the NSRA Hot Rod Drags from Santa Pod Raceway. The weather is clear with just a few clouds and a slight nip in the air, temperature 10C and rising to 15C with wind of 16mph from the north. Density altitude is significantly lower than previous events, between 200ft and 500ft expected with water grains also much lower at 35 to 45. In other words, conditions for great times.

It will be run what ya brung for all the day today and we will bring you the times for all the cars we can recognise. Doubtless some cars from the four invited race classes will be putting in some test runs too.

Greetings to Eurodragsterholics everywhere, including colleagues Kirstie who made her debut in Street Eliminator last weekend, Kieran whose dad Kev made some great 7.2s runs. Hi also to former editor and contributing photographer Tog who will be travelling to Melbourne Raceway to cover their Northern Street Legal Shootout this weekend.

Happy Birthday to Supercharged Outlaw racer Keith Freeman and SO crew Somer Dale, also to Pro Modified racer Marcus Hilt, former Pro Stock racer Bengt Ljungdahl and returning Comp Eliminator racer Brendan Clancy. We hope you all have a super day.

Come back shortly for news of run what ya brung.
