Thomas motioned into stage by sister Charlotte, ran 9.148/145.86 to improve his best time further, well done Thomas!
Next pair Roy Wilding 7.171/191.42 (1.1138 60ft, 4.6216/154.16 half track) vs Gary Parkes 7.6944/177.80 (1.1436 60ft, 4.9393/142.57 half track). Then Ian Merryweather (Banzai Topolino) 9.008/106.27, clicked at around 1000ft.
Joel Kerr out next in Stiff Shifter after a complete gearbox rebuild yesterday into the evening, car needed to be pushed back and shut off.

Then a pair of cars not seen before, fastback Mustang 10.970/121.41 vs Duster with gold crest at the rear which emitted a plume of smoke to 14.762/110.32, so on hold for track inspection.
Another Hellcat in black, 12.292/128.81, a good trend in more modern Challengers running as well as the classic version. Matthew Southcott (OS '39 Ford) 10.409/127.23, two seater Thrill Ride with Paul Brown driving 7.9727/167.93.
Wendy Baker came out in her Nostalgia Mustang Funny Car, planned burnout and launch, car sounding strong and nitro fumes being enjoyed from our position in the tower. Car eventually got into reverse with a bit of persuasion from startline crew and Wendy's backup person Philip Leamon with Leo Knight on the team. Car launched to a somewhat suspect 0.8153 60ft and the engine cut out. Great to see Wendy back and hope to see her back soon.

Aaron Windridge (Grim Reaper 23T) vs Gary Parke (Purple Daze). Well done to Aaron's team on rebuilding his engine from components on Friday, both cars shut off. Pause for a few spots of rain.
On the restart a few minutes later, both cars burned out again and Aaron was first with 7.917/166.07 (1.1249 60ft) to an early shutoff 10.883/70.72 from Gary. Then newly licensed Thomas Cook Abbott in Lil Hemi Hunter who red lit to a 9.106/145.69 against Simon Boot in Bootlegger running a 9.543/152.15.
Half track burnout for Roy Wilding, giving his team a workout opportunity, Roy shut off for more raindrops at the top end and refired a couple of minutes later to a 7.285/187.42, lovely straight pass. Then Ian Merryweather (Banzai Topolino) shut off for more rain.
Sadly the wheelie competition due to have taken place at 12:30pm is now cancelled. Will it be third time lucky in 2023?

First pair out Richard Granger broke out against Chris Tyhurst, then holeshot win for Paul Smail over Paul Singer, next Lee Chiles with a 4.4s wait after Glenda Thompson launched and Lee took the win closer to dial. Gary Cork had a big startline advantage over Pete Christmas, then Stuart Kiwi Thompson had a better RT than Phil Hobson. Mick Elsworth left quicker than Ash Rowson who broke out. Red for Glynn Boardman by 0.003 against Howard Holmes.
Williams Bros Racing team matchup with Dan Williams winning after Gary Carr bumped through stage. Jim Smith has the bounty on his head from a racer cash collection, he had a quicker RT than Simon Rickwood who was +0.009 on dial in but lost. Carly Watts with 0.0326 MOV over Jack Bishop. Track drying work is progressing well thanks to the tireless efforts of the track crew with special attention in the shut down area and the track dryer being utilised. The expected start time is 10:30 and the schedule will be about an hour behind, with Nostalgia Superstock round 2 at 10:30 followed by Gasser Circus and Supercharged Outlaws still at 11:15.

Good morning and welcome to day 3 of our coverage of the 28th Mopar Euronationals from Santa Pod Raceway. We've had light rain overnight but it's starting to clear now. The track staff have been sweeping the track with the tractor and 'shoe' and temperature of 19C (forecast to rise to 25C) is helping it to dry. The wind is 12mph from the south west.
Yesterday had several memorable moments. One of the most memorable was Hayley Hadfield, currently undergoing treatment for cancer, appearing on the startline and being handed the starter's button by Chief Starter Ian Marshall. It was a completely spontaneous gesture which meant a lot to us all, and was captured by Julian with some memorable shots which you can see in our gallery. It is another example of how the drag racing community comes together at times of misfortune and creates positive vibes.
We also saw some incredibly tight qualifying in Nostalgia Superstock and the return of Comp Eliminator racer Brendan Clancy. Action begins with eliminations in Nostalgia Superstock also Gasser Circus and more rounds of Supercharged Outlaws and run what ya brung featuring Wild Bunch. Because of the overnight rain the schedule may be delayed slightly.
Greetings to Eurodragsterholics here and across the globe, hi to Kai Plathan with Otto who has been in touch to say nice things about our coverage, also to Ronnie Mercer, Billy Gane and their teams competing at Clastres this weekend; Ronnie ended up with #1 qualifier in Pro ET with a perfect ET so congratulations to him. Talking of Perfect Awards, the money is still going for a Perfect Light in eliminations, the award sponsored by Cath and Tig Napier of Bad Habit Racing; if it isn't won today it will increase to £75 for the STP Green Light Nationals. Congratulations to Gary Carr who won the Perfect ET award sponsored by Andy Hadfield and the Twister Racing Team with his third qualifying pass yesterday.
