This session is pre-cruise which will take place this evening. Paul Morton up one spot. Andy Bond 7.561/203, will be #1 going into the cruise. Elliot Day 9.8377/139.06 stays in #7. James Murray also improved. Mark Sheridan returned with his twin turbo Hemi Cuda, 8.810/141 and stays in #5.

Kevin Kent vs Steve Ashdown: Steve did his burnout first but the engine zinged when he applied throttle, the throttle stop being shaken off when he hit the throttle, the result a burst plate blowing and the car needing to be towed off from around the 1000ft mark. Kevin had been started but was then shut off so Steve's lane could be cleared.
Jason Phelps 18.519/52.95: Nicely judged burnout, engine sounding great, car pushed towards stage, instant tyre spin and 1.9057 60ft.
Kevin Kent 4.4621/245.47: Kevin re-started after the problem with Steve Ashdown. Great run, 0.9578 60ft, 3.5453/240.08 to the eighth. The 1000ft blocks were taken out, could be by the header pressure as he was getting close to the centre line.

Steve Johnson pushed back against John Atkinson who footbrake launched to a 8.822/145 early shut off, after yesterday's big wheelie, the team not having wheelie bars on hand. Pel Norman broke out with 7.736/178, practising for Pro Street 7.60 Pel?
John Tebenham with another mega burnout breaking out alongside sponsor Pete Walters who ran 7.4628/177. Then Aaron Fensome 7.025/198 vs Bob Doyle 8.794/151 neither improve their position.
Andy Hadfield burning out to past half track, backed up by Charlotte Cook Abbott alongside Callum Swinchatt. Softish launch for Andy who got back on it to 8.448/161 as Callum slowed, the team having had to repair a broken rocker overnight. Next, Ash Bell and Mark Turner, Ash with smoke and close to the left wall to go from #16 to #9, Mark up one place to #17 with 8.483/156.
After a track inspection, Barry Giles ran a 7.394/180 to remain in #7. Ron Bartlett launched skywards even with wheelie bars and the car went to the right. He told us on the test day he had a new torque converter, intended to make it more consistent, however the opposite is the case this event at least. Scott Haiser 7.339/180 no change in position. No change for Ian Brown 7.883/134 vs Joe Kellett 7.784/174 as Jack Brewster towed back to the pits.
Billy Gane 8.57/154 vs Phil Toppin 8.75/153 breakout, neither improving.

Good morning and welcome to our coverage of the second day of the Festival of Power at Santa Pod Raceway. It is sunny here, a beautiful Easter Saturday with temperature of 11C forecast to rise to 18C and wind of just 9mph, ideal conditions for racing.
You will see from yesterday's report and Julian and Diana's galleries that we had a great time, with plenty of excitement, no incidents and personal bests being recorded. In Super Street Bike, Daniel Donat Lencses from Hungary broke into the 6.7s for the first time and set a new speed record in excess of 220mph on his new DME bike, well done to him.
Wild Bunch racer Andy Clifford wrote in to say "Happy Birthday to my dad, Wild Bunch racer, occasional Super Comp competitor and multiple nostalgia slingshot owner Terry Clifford. Unfortunately we could not make it to the event as I was struck down by sickness this week, I’m absolutely gutted as the entry list and the weather looks stunning. I’d love to wish all the competitors a safe event. In particular the whole Super Comp field the best of luck, stay safe and special mention to our very good friends Team Black Pig Too and Team DASH Racing. The Snake Eyes, SC85 team will be back for Springspeed. See you then."
