First run for Carl Goldsmith, staged after window net fixed but car wouldn't launch in first, NTR but took the green. Dave Crowhurst first time recorded today. Problems for Paul Jackson who pulled over, no hold for retrieval.
Luke Stevenson pushed back following a thrash to get his dragster ready with new gaskets; Charlie Roberts in the 5 Up! pushed back as well. Luke managed to restart and put in a gentle run to get a number on the board.

Nostalgia Funny Car licensing run
Jayne Kay in the Dirty Deeds Camaro, burned out but the transmission wouldn't go into reverse easily. With the help of the crew rocking the car Jayne was able to reverse, the engine sounding crisp. Wheelie bar adjusted, a single chirp and then launch to 100ft, 1.21 to 60ft and off the throttle at 100ft. Car owner Rob Elsom said "That's how it should go, just one or two changes needed to make it easier to drive, I'm sure Jayne will have a big smile on her face."

Sponsor Pete Walters now dialling 7.50 after a new PB in testing, ran 7.51 PB to go #4. Fadster burned out to half track in true showman style. Entertaining pass but Pel Norman first to the fihish line with 7.764/178. Aaron Fensome straight into #2 and a new PB against a nitrous purging Mark Turner who went from #21 to #16, great performances!
Mark Bailey from #8 to #2 as Callum Swinchatt broke out. First run for Steve Johnson but was shut off for a leak. Alfie Wratten drove back to the pits as John Atkinson ripped off another 8.5 to go #9. Collin Morrice then up from #16 to #8. Lee Darby followed by Ian Brown in the ex Final Demand car to 7.79/177, vs Dave Russell in The Van. John Tebenham stayed in place as Brian Pateman was pushed back, then Billy Gane. Rene van den Berg 1.0685 to 60ft, 4.2746/175.08 to half track, nice run to start with and drove through. Followed by Neil Midgley on the Puma Engineering bike with Ian King and Chris Hannam in attendance, all wearing Cannon Motorsport shirts. Launch for licensing, 1.0689 to 60ft and tyre spun after 100ft, great start to Neil's riding this famed machine.
Then Steve Woollatt vs Al Smith. Steve with a new supercharger, shut off early, 1.0932 to 60ft and 4.4024/141.92 to half track. Al with problems, stopped on track at 900ft, 1.3711 to 60ft
Shawn Rodman wrote to let us know his van suffered mechanical failure necessitating towing back to his Bristol base. With no backup van he was forced to withdraw. We look forward to seeing Shawn back at the track at the end of the month's Springspeed Nationals.

Then Annie Wallace vs Wayne Nicholson, both had tested yesterday, Wayne with a Mike Janis supercharger. Wayne up on the tyres instantly, 21.3409/53.21, Annie to 6.5236/ 185.12 with 1.0231 to 60ft and 4.1801/176.29 to half track, soft looking run to get into the ladder. Pause for clean up in Wayne's lane.
Kev Slyfield vs Nick Davies, Kev with a few stabs of the throttle in the burnout. Kev going to the left and right with a pedal, Nick not getting the boost as high as wanted and the car went down the track gently.

Spencer Tramm with brand new, original Chevy colour, paint and Williams Bros Racing graphics hand painted by Neil Melliard. Robin Orthodoxou lifted, Spencer had driveline issues and was pushed back. Paul Morton's new Zephyr still in test mode vs Mark Sheridan's rebuilt Cuda, Mark leaving before tree activated then Paul was allowed to re-stage. Paul ran 13.1458 to qualify him, a lot more in store. Then Tony Higg's Capri on a solo when Elliot Day shut off. Vertical wheelie for Tony, drove through it splendidly and ran a 10.96. Tony has a new carbon fibre bonnet, perhaps the weight balance had been affected more than he was expecting and the power curve for the launch will undoubtedly be looked at.
Nick Hale vs Nigel Hale, Nigel with new Bosch injectors running rich. Then Al Williamson in the repaired Howlin' Hauler who spun his new beadlock wheels on the line vs Andy Bond. Next Al McSweeney back from Sick Week, with a revised exhaust system saving 60lb but spun the tyres on his launch.

Jessica Bishop and Purdie Hadfield followed with a red light for Purdie. Next Odyssey Racing's Damion Redshaw and 2021 champion Harry Redshaw who went red. Katie Ellis next on a bye run, then Liam Macdonald (who had ferry problems and then car problems, now running the ex Matthew Dowdy George Oliver car on loan, the car about to go to Germany).
The Junior Dragsters were followed by a test run for the two seater dragster with Paul Brown driving, 8.5659/110.33 planned shut-off run.

Aaron Fensome with issues on the start line, allowed to restart as had not taken the green, car looking immaculate in a new wrap. Jack Brewster very close to the left wall and shut off. Brian Pateman running this class and will try nitrous at The Doorslammers in Pro Street. Dave Russell with a big birthday this weekend. Also welcome back to Lee Darby. Phil Toppin vs Callum Swinchatt who tested yesterday, then Bob Doyle vs Scott Hauser, Scott into #3 at that point. Dan Fulton in his first qualifying session on +0.12 in his smart Firebird against. Then Will Clark vs Marc Huxley in the Can Do 2 Reborn Corolla. Third pair Al Schofield in the ex-everyone dragster vs Warren Watts in the ex Dave Fulton Camaro who was +0.02 on his first qualifying run. Stuart Thompson and Andy Garnett in the Teslas into #2 at that point. Then Pete Dodd in the Metamorphosis Camaro vs Daltton Scarlett in a Mk2 Zephyr we haven't see in a while.
Chloe Wilkins with a quickest ever run vs Mason Griffiths who went to #1. Laura Baynton vs Lee Huxley who is racing for the late Tim Hines this year, condolences to Tim's family who couldn't be here for the event due to illness. Marie Mills vs Alan Medley next, then Geoff Cowley vs Dave Fulton in the Nova driven by Lee Huxley last year, acuired from the Bell family. Dave Rudd in his immaculate rebuilt Cobra vs Bob Molden, then Adrian Portelli vs Ronnie Mercer who went to #2 with a great run. Good morning and welcome to Eurodragster.com's live coverage of the 2022 Festival of Power. We have sunny skies with a touch of cloud and temperatures 8C forecast to rise to 19C.
We had an exceptionally busy test day yesterday, with over 100 vehicles making runs. It was good to see Pro Mod racer from the Netherlands Michel Tooren back in his Pro Mod and he ran a soft launching and early shut off 6.6899/156.87. Wayne Nicholson also made a test pass, the Lucky Devil Corvett carding a 7.1099/152.63 early shut-off. In the bikes, Shawn Buttigieg from Malta ran a couple of great passes, his bike running in Comp Bike but to all purposes a Super Street machine albeit with wider tyre and longer wheelbase. His times were 6.7656/214.95 which produced a lot of excitement from his team and earlier a 6.8649/210.90. As it was a test day and not competition these would not stand as records, however, the competition no doubt took note.
