Good morning and welcome to our coverage of Day 1 of Bug Jam 35 from Santa Pod Raceway. The weather is cloudy with temperature of 18C rising to 23C and wind of 9mph from the south east.

We will start with Funny Car Q1 and the first of a series of match races between Andy Raw in Nitro Bug and Wayne Allman in Mental Breakdown, then there will be RWYB, Funny Car Q2 and jet demos until 7pm.

Hi to Eurodragsterholics who are tuned in, especially to Perfect Award sponsors Andy and Hayley Hadfield, with Cath and Tig Napier as we will have both awards in place this weekend. Hi also to Bob Roberts and Kieran who sent a gallery from last week's Ford Show. Happy Birthday for today to future NSS racer Micky Churchill, Super Comp racer Richard Tunstall, Outlaw Street racer Russ Pursley, VW Sportsman racer Ethan Lisle and from Sweden, Old '51 team owner Magnus Petersson. Have a great day guys.

Folks not already here and coming from the M1 northwards at Junction 14, note that there is a road closure on the A508 towards Newport Pagnell, follow the diversion signs turning left after the motorway exit and they will direct you to the correct route.

We'll return when action is under way.
