The rain continued and the track became waterlogged, despite the best attempts to sweep the excess water. So we have been called for the day.

Exhibition passes
Mona from Sweden is due to make a pair of passes to complete her licensing. Swedish mag Counter Steer carried an article on Mona in Swedish in December last year in which it is revealed her day job is a go-kart teacher at Gokart Stockholm and she is passionate about having more women competitors in motorsport. The car appeared behind the start line area, however Mona got towed back to the pits for a problem before firing up.
Robin Read vs Tony Betts. Robin due to make a full run, however was pushed back after the burnout with the engine stopped following a fuel line coming loose on the side of the supercharger (thanks to Callum Pudge for spotting). Tony, under the instruction of crew chief John Wright, made a burnout to check the systems are operating correctly and reversed behind the line. On hold again for dampness.

Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying session 1
Ashley Cooper on a single, then the amazing Mark Sheridan 'Cuda built by Andy Robinson and tuned by Shane T remotely, gentle run to 9.79/145 a lot more to come there. Followed by Nick Hale with a 0.008 RT and Tony Higgs who blazed the tyres off the line. Then Damian Halliwell and Al Williamson. Drama for Al who crossed the centre line just before the 330ft reflector and nudged into the left wall after he attempted to correct it, Damian putting the anchors out rapidly to avoid a collision. The Howlin Hauler came to a rest just after half track and Al got out unhurt.
After the restart, Joe Stevens vs Andy Bond, Andy away first to 213.87mph, both runs totally straight. Then Al McSweeney on a solo to a great pass.
Later Damian Halliwell completed his run to get in the qualifying list.

Hi to Luke Fulton and family who can't be here due to a family wedding. Caitlin Wilson and Freddie Taylor were the first pair, followed by Harley Coulsell with a 0.006 RT and Thomas Cook Abbott, whose car is still for sale. Next was George 'Spartacus' Oliver and Ada Cassissi.
Jacqueline Bartlett and Katie Ellis were next, both staged to the left to keep off the most grippy part of the track, Katie going #3. Daniel Todd and Lola-Belle Kent then ran their JS cars, followed by Ellie Brown and Purdie Hadfield, Jack Taylor and Daniel Weir, Luke Mugridge and Harley-Jay Darby who went to #2. Jake Cooper and Damion Redshaw next, the Redshaws with a car for sale.
Jessica Bishop and Max Taylor followed, Max into #2 as Jessica's car had a problem moving from pre-stage to stage and under the rules was allowed a second attempt into #4. Mackenzie Love and Teddy Sullivan, Mackenzie into #2, then points-leading Harry Redshaw and Kai Cooper and Chevrolet Checkett and Kim Willcox the last pair to run.

Tom Atkinson and Dave Russell out first, followed by Ash Bell and Billy Gane, into #1 for Billy with +0.0147. Phil Toppin and Ron Bartlett next, Ron having tested yesterday, Ron thanks Geof Hauser for bringing a replacement rod end to the track after a breakage caused him 'squeaky bum time'. Then Mark Turner and the welcome return of Dave Evans with refreshed power plant following damage at Not The Euro Finals. Mist out of Dave Evans and he was out of the throttle by 1000ft.
After an hour's downtime thanks to drizzle, we restarted with Brian Pateman and Nick Good, Brian running nitrous with a low 8.52dial and Nick in the Lucas Oils dragster, Brian into #3 spot. Then Jack Brewster and Barry Giles, Jack rolling the beams but still getting a time. Next Alan Didwell and Eurodragster.com sponsor Pete Walters, who has designed a humorous decal for announcer Colin Theobald, Pete going into #3. Scott Hauser on a single followed by the last pair of Bob Doyle and Callum Swinchatt.

Modurstang Pro ET qualifying session 1
First pair SPR Events Manager James Forster and Geoff Cowley, followed by two debuts, Andrew Garnett in a Tesla Model S with 11.50 dial and Pete Dodd in the ex-Mike Lacey Camaro in which he pulled an impressive wheelie yesterday and 9.25 dial today. Andrew and Pete were pushed back and there was a pause for track inspection at 1000ft.
Then Tom Watson in the pickup and Vic Parsons, Simon Gough and Bob Molden, into #1 and #2 respectively. Jon Turner and Ian Brown back in the Thatadoo PET Camaro, Will Clark, his junior comp dragster slowing and coming to a halt at 1000ft, and Simon Innes. Brett Featherstone and Chloe Wilkins whose dragster left before the tree was activated and received no time.
Pause for sprinkles in the air, then action restarted with Amy Watkins going to #1 and the dragster of Mason Griffiths. Lee Huxley and Marc Huxley next, Marc into #3 spot. Al Medley and Allan Schofield next, then Tom Kaye and Steve Cherrett going for a solo best appearing crew in his new shirt. John Tebenham next, wild burnout as usual, against John Bean, JT into #2. Then Leigh Morris with nitrous and -.0017 RT against Brian Huxley in the Dark Horse Mustang.
Baylee Ashdown on her first competitive run and Ronnie Mercer next, Paul Marston getting Baylee pushed back for an adjustment and running last in the session. Marie Mills another debut next.

Good morning and welcome to day one of our report from the STP Greenlight Nationals at Santa Pod Raceway. We have high clouds and it's dry with temperature of 19C rising to 23C. The track is fully prepped, Pro ET have been called into the pairing lanes and qualifying will begin in around 20 minutes' time.
There were a variety of racers making practise passes yesterday, together with licensing runs from Mona from Sweden who first went down the track in September 2019, we're not sure of her plans for completing licensing but will let you know the times and speeds. A big hello to all Eurodragsterholics. You will see from the news page that it's 9.50 Bike racer Richard Sawatzki's birthday today, also that he has achieved the incredible mark of 1000 runs in competition, have a great day Richard! Hi also to Dave Grabham who is recovering after a recent stroke and, according to wife Hilary, keen to get on with his rehab. Also hi to Straightliners boss Trevor Duckworth who is recovering from surgery and demonstrating his sense of humour in his social media posts.
There will be a live stream today and Nitro FM are live, so sit back and listen to the sounds until the racing goes live.
