Nick Davies ran a single 5.9447/246.37, great run and new PB on ET, well done Nick! Rob Loaring said "We've been chasing electrical issues", looks like they've been solved. 1.0124 to 60ft and 3.9443/194.46 to the eighth.

David Vegter 14.9446/61.53 vs Bruno Bader 5.9571/233.69. Engine cut out for David Vegter before the burnout so the tyres did not spin. Great run for Bruno, close to his PB at the 2016 Main Event, incrementals for Bruno 0.9508 and 3.8755/188.52, David spun the tyres and shut down early.
Matt Peters for a licensing run, 1.16 to 60ft and off the throttle after 330ft as the engine started smoking through the right bank of exhaust.

Kev Perkins told us he is out for the rest of the season, he and Lloyd had transmission problems which they thought they were sorted, however when the engine was fired it didn't sound right, and there was water in the cylinder. After draining it down another starting attempt caused the engine to hydraulic with a broken rod, and so a complete engine rebuild is facing the team over the winter months.

Rocket Bike exhibtion
Eric Teboul, interviewed by Darryl Bradford said "I'm happy to come back to SPR with my team, I have had time to make a new catalyst pack. and go for a world record. The new setup works very well and we will have increased pressure on the next pass. We want to do a new record in 2023 when I am 60 years old and will retire then. With thrust you don't know the pressure and I ran with less pressure, when I ran 5.19 I had 1.00. In the US I ran 5.12/264.39 MPH and had a 0.95 60ft. The bike can only stop when the fuel is burned. The stopping depends on pressure and brakes, I want less speed at the end, it was too short at 280mph".
This run, his second with the new setup was 5.6053/208.84, with a 0.9668 60ft and 3.5798/223.35, great pass, the bike shutting down just before the finish line. Great achievement Eric!

Wayne Nicholson broke vs Kev Slyfield . Wayne could not engage reverse and drove down the track after his burnout. Huge tyre shake for Kev and the car drifted to the right after 60ft after which he lifted. Kev's shake deposited some loose rubber particles on the track which were sledded out, the team will surely be checking the car carefully.
Bruno Bader 20.6190/43.02 vs Jean Dulamon. Bruno got into tyre shake, the car made a move to the left at 60ft and shut off. Jean went across the startline as soon as the two step was engaged and shut off.

Al McSweeney had a Gen 1 76mm turbo go at the Doorslammers when a wire got into the impeller, he was able to source a pair of Gen 2 turbos which will give him another 200hp, fitted early this morning. Al thanks Lee Owen for sourcing the turbos, an unplanned upgrade which the team installed overnight. Back to test mode for Al. Al Mc went 7.84/175, great test pass. Next Andy Bond alongside Mark Todd, got shut off Andy depriving us of a match up. Mark lost traction and the car made a big move to the left and he lifted. Andy Bond's right door was lifted out by his crew, possibly the reason for the shut off. Once refitted, he burned out again. Andy lifted after 330ft to 8.55/131.

Tom Atkinson up from 5 to #3 in the first pair. Kieran Astley's dragster deposited a line of oil during the burnout after an oil filter cap came off. Pushed back and we'll hopefully see Kie back on track later.
After the restart following cleanup, Mark Turner ran alongside Ian Brown, both cars having run Pro Mod in the mid 1990s. Peter Walters with a 0.0034 RT on his run moves from 14 to #6. Then #1 and #2 Mark Coulsell and Ron Bartlett, who is running on second hand slicks waiting for a new pair due on Tuesday. Mark ran 8.183/159 as Ron stopped on track at 200ft. Ron restarted the engine after the track crew had a look and idled up the track.
Bob Doyle up from 14 to #4 as Laura Turburville slowed to a 16s run. Pel Norman kept in competition thanks to a new fuel pump supplied by Williams Bros Racing ran a 7.93/176 alongside Mark Flavell's 7.68/171 but no improvement for either. Alan Didwell RT 0.0050 alongside Joe Kellett 0.0012, Alan up from 14 to #8 and Joe broke out with 7.5706/177. Nick Good up 14 to #11. Good morning and welcome to our Saturday coverage from the Euro Finals Shootout from Santa Pod Raceway. The weather here at is cloudy with a temperature of 17C and a wind of 11mph and the radar is looking clear.
Yesterday was a late start due to rain however with the hard work of the track crew in drying the track and making sure no water was left standing in later showers, two qualifying sessions were completed along with an evening nitro session, see yesterday's report and galleries for full details. Today's plan is for three more sessions of sportsman qualifying and pro sessions incorporating Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars at 11:30 and 15:00, also match racing jets shortly after 11:00 and 13:00 and, in the 15:00 session Eric Teboul on his rocket bike. Eric surprised us all yesterday with an incredible 5.75s run which was the first on an entirely new setup with more rocket fuel burning capability, only having tested it before in his yard, so a great achievement and more to come.
