Steve Venables shut off for a leak, Jake Mechaell short shifted with the bike spluttering to a 7.776/169.80. Alan Morrison Jnr with Rick Stubbins in attendance running 8.2812/153 as the front wheel lifted a bit. Ross Morrison on a 7.68 is 3/10s off the bump spot, he launched smoothly but shift issues slowed him to 8.073/181.29 so he will be the alternate. Steve Mead 1.23 to 60ft and lifted to 7.90/142. Mark Hope a great 7.181/205.15, followed by Alex Hope with 7.364/201.50. Mark Dainty with a 7.284/196 but no change in position.

Lorcan Parnell got off the line and then the engine died, he didn't make the finish line before the system timed out. Improvement for Dave Peters. Next Stu Crane alongside team mate Mark Smith who needed to get a time on the board to qualify for eliminations. Mark's bike cut out on the line, and he sat with head bowed, but Stu ran a 6.50 to back up his earlier 6.49 for a new ACU record, well done Stu and commiserations to Mark and Lorcan.

Ron Bartlett ran 8.218/167.24, one of his quickest ever runs, but broke out. Two breakouts for Pete Walters 7.655 and Alan Didwell 7.626, by just a few thousandths each. Bob Doyle with 8.709 on a 8.70 to consolidate his #1 position, 0.027 RT as well. Ashley Bell wandered towards the centre line and lifted. Next Jack Brewster with 1.084 60ft and 8.612/122, the car getting off the line much quicker now. Scott Hauser with 7.339/179.22 but stayed in #4 position

Andy Bond on one, 7.408/208mph, fantastic speed. Joe Stevens back after starter motor repaired, tyre shake and 9.496/114 as Damian Halliwell went 10.52. Next Al McSweeney with the Volvo and Al Williamson with his pickup, 8.093/169 for the pickup (1.271 60ft) and 10.858/86.70 for the Volvo.

Al Smith 7.437/149.18, the engine still showing the hesitancy that it did yesterday, Al moving around the bike. Next Steve Woollatt with a fuel leak on the burnout, shut off. Alongside him Neil Midgley with Chris 'Cannon' Hannam ran a great 6.284/198.98, Chris saying "We've taken a bunch out, put a fresh head on it and it's gone quicker than ever." Half track times were 4.0426/183.54. No Kev Slyfield, who has gone home to machine a new rocker stand, hopefully we will see him back for eliminations tomorrow.

Graham Fairhead launching nicely but like previous runs, the power drained after 330ft. Jacob Bailey with 11.001/141. Carl Goldsmith with 10.20 dial ran 11.163/128 losing power towards the top end, as Abi Tether moved up to 2nd with her virtually stock Golf R. Adrian Solly broke out with 11.010/128 on 11.15 dial and Guy Folley with the Loaner Golf, problems and smoke at the top end, the fluid evaporating. Paul Bargate moved up one place to 4th.

Jon Morton had electrical gremlins causing a few issues, the car not leaving the line when the button released, 9.723/144.87 on that run but 3.7431 RT. One of those things that worked fine in the pits, but not on the start line. Stuart Hodgson in the Strip Poker VW, on his first run of the event, sidelined very quickly at 60ft and was pushed back.

Phil Toppin ran 8.6379/155 on a 8.70 for a new PB, well done Phil! Perfect Light for Mark Coulsell 0.0005 on 8.481/152 run, he's the winner of the Perfect Light Award sponsored by Bad Habit Racing. Kieran Astley up from 19 to 7th with a 8.408/158. Ashley Bell's engine stopped on the line but he recorded a 9.07/155 time anyway with 14s RT. Callum Swinchatt up from 22nd to 11th with 8.850/142 on 8.83. Jack Brewster on another checkout, car slow off the line as if there was torque converter slippage, then he lost drive and had to be towed off the track.

Modurstang Pro ET qualifying session 4
Lower dial-ins this morning as the air is very good. For Vic Parsons first up, not enough reduction in dial and he broke out. Breakout also for Bob Molden as well. Marc Manning changed classes from Super Pro to Pro ET, however broke out in his first pass 9.16 on a 9.19 dial, two more opportunities though. Lee Huxley drove back to the pits, we hope not for a serious issue. Allan Schofield went 8.812/151, breakout but new PB for this rookie in drag racing with a huge career in motorcycle circuit and TT racing. Very few changes in position as so many racers are breaking out. Tom Watkins with a 11.21 on 11.28 after running 11.3s yesterday is a typical example. Chloe Wilkins ran 9.654/142 for a new PB, Butch very happy even though it was a breakout run. Last up, Gary Carr dialled 8.83, ran 8.8300 to go up from #4 to #1, well done Gary!

Good morning and welcome to day two of our coverage from the Festival of Power at Santa Pod Raceway.
Yesterday was a success in that all the qualifying rounds were completed, and we had test passes from three of the Funny Cars and both of the Top Fuel Dragsters on site, also full runs from the five jet cars scheduled to appear.
Commiserations to Elaine Hancock, who had a coming together with the wall when her Lethal Zephyr snapped sideways at the end of a superb drifting burnout. Fortunately bodywork damage is minimal and the chassis damage is limited to the front and quite repairable. We also lost Perfect Light sponsor Tig Napier after session two when an enormous wheelie had the car more or less vertical and dangerously near the tipping point, fortunately the car seems relatively intact apart from the wheelie bar which will need replacement or at the very least a good talking to, a split sump, the contents of which were all caught by the diaper and a broken perspex hood scoop.
We also lost a team due to quarantine rules, Mark and Daniel Todd of 6 Appeal, sorry to have you guys at home rather than at the track. Also commiserations to Team Firefighter Juniors aka Kim and Richard Willcox who suffered various mechanical gremlins, we hope you're back on track soon.
Our Andy 'Fadster' Hadfield and Twister Racing-supported Perfect ET award went to Super Comp racer Paul Hudson yesterday, he was pleased to collect £75 this morning. The Bad Habit racing Perfect Light Award is still up for grabs, and Bob's Photo Finish Award which is going to be awarded twice, one to junior classes and the other to adult classes.
