Cannonball finals
Final: Tim Garlick 6.3888/221.22 def. Dave Grabham 7.2127/190.59. Tim's engine the loudest thing on the property after three 6.2 runs this event. Dave in a family battle with son and co-driver Robbie to be first to a 6 and 200. Dave in first, 0.0606RT against Tim's 0.1688, Tim pulls away after half track. Incrementals 1.0856 to 60ft and 4.1899/179.61 for Tim, 1.1066 and 4.6405/153.54 for Dave. Great race from two great drivers and entertainers.
Third and fourth place run-off: Tony Betts 6.583/157.92 def. Chris Manning, broke. Chris burned out first, Tony stopped at the water box and John Wright checking the fuel system, short burnout for Tony as Chris reversed however Chris's engine stopped leaving Tony to single for third place. Great incrementals 1.0567 and 4.0429/186.59 to the eighth, one of the quickest half track NFC times seen here. Possibly Tony's car not changing gear to second and a cloud of smoke after 1000ft as Tony clicked it.
After a clean-up Chris Manning came back out and ran 7.164/201.52, glancing the wall as the chute came out and moving across the track as Chris controlled the car on its slow down, no drama. 1.2016 to 60ft, 4.7219/159.64 to half track.

Wild Bunch Q&E round 2
James Auld with the issues from the last run sorted, Pete Brown in Rebel (blue helmet) to 8.556/154.71, close to a new PB, well done team! Bradley Cooper back after earlier problems as Jim Tanner had to lift going to the right of his lane, Bradley only a tenth away from his PB. Great 8.84 for 'Crazy' Chris Hartnell, a return to form!
Alan Lloyd deploying the nitrous on Gonzo to 7.920/165.49. High gear launch for Steve Heaven, hence drop off in the ET to 8.889. Tim Roy to yet another PB 9.449/142.60 at fairly high revs, well done Tim and team! Andy Jackson with the old bogging problem returning but the engine sounding strong enough. Although Jeff Morris's Malibu Express is on site, it has yet to make an on-track appearance.

Pete Brown with a bye to start with. Great to see Ken Cooper in the startline area with son Bradley alongside Rob Brown who ran 8.635 on a 8.64 dial, breakouts no problem with the Wild Bunch average to dial format. Bradley was pushed back for a mechanical issue.
Kev Whiting close to his 10.80 dial with 10.778. Gary Atkinson -0.0751 on his 9.80 dial. Mark Coulsell lost fire, restarted using the onboard starter but ran over his index. Problems for Andy Jackson whose Econorail/Hammerman 2 car had reportedly been stripped and rebuilt between Friday and today.
Alan Lloyd with new parts on Gonzo, not the usual start to another eight. Wayne Colliver and Steve Heaven, Steve with the chute back on after yesterday's fire burnout. Then Phil James and Tim Roy whose PB has reduced from 12.29 over the weekend, reducing again on this run to 9.746/140, well done Tim and the team! Ollie Hutchings-Smith with a new jet on the carburettor but the engine didn't like it and he slowed.
Chris Hartnell lost fire in Backdraft and was pushed back, leaving James Auld to a solo, leaving before the tree was activated and coming to a halt on track, the clocks timing out at 14.8s.

Andy 'Fadster' Hadfield 8.709/171.76 vs Jim Usher 8.070/170.45 first. Jim on track for the first time in a couple of years, nice straight pass with a new front end on the car following a wheelie. Fadster with a couple of dry hops to the startline but a secondary burnout after the two step launch.
Paul Dale 8.935/149.07 first vs Dave McCallan 9.101/145.34. Pair of nice straight runs for both, Paul in the eights again.

Spirit of 76 award presentation
First SPR racer in the fives, Pete Crane presented the Spirit of 76 posthumously to Lawrie Gatehouse, who as a photojournalist and founder of the Nostalgia Fuel Altered Association, did so much to support the sport in the UK until his passing last year. Fuel altered and Pro Mod racer Nick Davies accepted the award on behalf of Lawrie. Nick had raced in Lawrie's Chaos Fuel Altered which holds the UK record for such cars, and Lawrie had supported Nick and Rob Loaring taking Havoc to the US in 2017.

Renegade Outlaw Anglia eliminations round 2
Bye for Spencer Tidswell as Jon Webster pushed back for a fluid leak. Adam Cuthbert idled down the track against Ben Rushforth, looked like a known problem for Adam. Phil 'Ginner' Middleton quick in reverse once again, long 2 minute burndown with Phil Drewitt, 'long tree' from Ian Marshall which led to Ginner leaving early and Phil Drewitt waiting for the lights. Classic race. Rob Stone quick run and much quicker reaction than Martyn Payne. Good runs for Mick Taylor and Garry Bird, even on reactions Mick's power telling in the end. 300ft+ burnout for sponsor Jedd Guy, smoke out of the car in the shut down area after a 7.253/184.30 with tyre shake and short pedal, Jedd clearly going for the six but is the engine too wounded for him to continue?

Kevin Melling had set a world record for a Kawa H2. No show for Nick Pepper alongside Kev who had no drive and couldn't stage. Andy Lambert also pushed back against Rod Spry. No show for Lee Gilmore against Dean Stevens who shut off before the finish line to go 9.011/121, just missing an eight. Tyne Blight and Richard Peachey qualified close to one another, Tyne getting close to the centre line and having to lift.

Tim Garlick 6.2131/230.49 def. Paul Harris 6.1109. Two crisp sounding nitro engines with a healthy dose. Tim away first and moved over to the right of his lane, the chutes from Tim tripping the timers in Paul's lane, so likely to be DQ'd as a time. Tim's incrementals 1.0526 and 4.0899/184.97, Paul's 1.0434 and 4.1705/175.38 so consistent with a low six for Paul.
Dave Grabham 7.2061/189.74 def. Doug Bond 7.6811/155.76. Great burnout for both, Doug more confident in handling the slingshot. Dave away first 0.0901, Doug giving chase. Incrementals 1.1067 and 4.6424/154.05 for Dave, 1.1288 and 4.8427/148.63 for Doug. Dave through to the final against Tim.
Rob Elsom 10.4356/78.85. First run on new combination, smoke out of pipes on the line indicating a rich tuneup, on it to 300ft, well done Rob, crew chief Ian Pellant and team!. Incrementals 1.1745 and 5.2307/99.89 but Rob had clicked it well before half track. Quick track inspection and sled followed.
Steve Johnson NTR vs Mick Hannah NTR. Steve Johnson's crewman off to the side of the car so Steve could see him in reversing back. Mick left before the tree activated, great run but no time, bouncing his way down the shutdown area with the engine note rising and falling. Steve got off to a 1.2336 60ft time but the engine cut out at that point and he came to a halt around 400ft. Pause for collection.
Bob Hawkins, sounded great, however engine cut out after burnout. Collected from 300ft mark.
Chris Manning 7.0753/202.53 bye. Straight burnout in the alky fuelled 538ci Hemi slingshot. Ragin' Ray White on the team, went left, Chris kept on it and pulled it back from the centre line, great job. Incrementals 1.1779 to 60ft, 4.6487/161.35 to half track.
Tony Betts was towed back to the pits, hopefully we'll see him later.

Red for Sean Milsom giving the win to Lee Pike after fuel pump repairs. First GC competition run for SPR CEO Keith Bartlett, 10.766 on a 10.62 loseout to Nick Barnett. Close race between Tom Margesson and Jason Hollamby, Tom breaking out. Ray Turner a no show after engine breakage in the final qualifier, Tony Pearson getting the bye. Another great burnout for Brian Gibson, and beats Steve Matthews with a 0.0106 win margin. Ray Irish a no-show alongside Simon Glenn, Mick Allen a no-show against Katie Booth.

32 car field, so five rounds of heads-up racing today. Sponsor Jedd Guy in second pairing, against Shane Bird in his car appropriately called 'Long Shot'. 1.0893 to 60ft, went close to centre line, Jedd pedaled to 8.536/153.12 but got there first by almost six seconds. Improvement by Adam Cuthbert on his qualifying number to 9.385. Al O'Connor with a 0.01 RT and 9.9073, run down by Garry Hill, if it had been Super Gas Al would have been unbeatable. No times for Doug McClure who rolled through stage against Ronnie Mercer. Win for Spencer Tidswell despite hugging the centre line during his run. Drama in the next pair as Rob Brindle got sideways at the top end in his new build car which ended up on its side, fortunately at a slowish speed, and Rob out of the car looking completely unhurt. On hold for clear-up.
On the restart Phil 'Ginner' Middleton with a 'Hi Sue' on the rear door of his immaculate Fordson, nice straight run. Then no-show for Rob Turrington (he of the knight-attired crewman) against Mick Taylor who was on and off the throttle. Jon Webster in the next pair, weave at half track to 7.260/186. Then Martyn Payne with Paul 'Guv' Wright on his team, 8.965/152 to the delight of his crew. Trail of fluid behind Ben Kennedy's so on hold for clean-up.

Heads up race for Jim Chandler and Dave Billadeau, Jim first off the line but lifted too early allowing Dave to pass him at the stripe. Great race, very tight between John Davison and Spencer Tramm, Spencer's reaction giving him the win. Win margin 0.0012 or two inches between Dan Williams and Jerry Raymond. James Oliver didn't move as Adrian Portelli went -0.0113 red. Rob Tyrrell didn't move with a stuck Line-Lok against Vic Parsons. Big wheelie for Duncan Watts who pulled over to the side after the launch.

Good morning and welcome to day 3 of our coverage from Dragstalgia 10. It's a warm day, sunny with wispy clouds and temperature of 14C forecast to rise to 20C so sunblock is recommended for those who want to avoid Podface.
Thanks to those who have written with compliments on our coverage this weekend. The galleries by Julian and Diana, which you can see from our Event Index show what a diverse group of vehicles we have, and the attire of teams around the start line also reflect the nostalgic nature of the event.
We've several birthdays to celebrate today; a very Happy Birthday to Sportsman ET racer and occasional photographer Kirstie Tramm, also to longtime announcer, BDRHoF selector panel member and supporter of tracks both here and in Yorkshire Graham Beckwith. We expect Graham to be in the tower at some stage today, although with we missed the chance of a reunion of 'Pricey and Arkwright' with John Price up here yesterday. Among our racing community we extend birthday greetings to SPR crew member Angie Woods, Street Eliminator 6 Appeal racer Mark Todd and Pro ET racer Gino Bernadine.
Greetings also to Kai Plathan and Otto who have been in touch, also our generous sponsors including Jedd Guy of Shorty's Fabrication Shop who broke the Outlaw Anglia record yesterday and may be on the verge of history. Raceday greetings to Kathy Hileman in New Hampshire as well.
