off the gas before the eighth, we think both blower belts broke, Stig at the eighth in a slowing 3.1618/235.02 to Anita's
slowing more 3.2808/219.74, Stig had more momentum and took it by 0.1515.

Drama in the third pair as Karen Stevens' Vega did a hard right turn past the stripe, T-Boned
Al Medley's Olds and then barrel-rolled. Safety crews moved real quick, one of the emergency exit
crew was off and running within a couple of seconds. Word from race officials is that both racers
got themselves out of their cars, both were taken to the Medical Centre to be checked out.

before staging but restarted without drama. Tim got seriously out of shape at about 1100 feet but
held on to it and put the chute out. Taking a hand off the wheel to pull the chute took a certain weight
of cojone.

Tree didn't run for Steve and Jem, Jem left and then shut off, Ven sat in stage. Big wheelie
for Rudi, well-controlled but lost a lot of time and had to shut off. Same story for Mark only a slightly more
rough landing and then another wheelie and shut it off. Thomas Granica out with engine damage so Roberth
in as alternate and promptly took out Graham with a PB. Garry Bowe out with engine damage, Eric in as alternate
and same story here, took out qualifier Jake Mechaell. Sandro achieves his season aim of a mid-seven
in a few days, well done Sandro and team! Graham edged out of stage as the lights ran.

FIA Pro Modified eliminations round 1
Norbert Kuno 24.1696/29.37 bye, Kev Slyfield did not start
Kev's motor did not start, crew worked quickly to crank the motor over and try again but eventually told to
give it up by the pairing lane marshal. Norbert took the bye, 1.1063 to sixty with big shake then motor screamed,
a bang and a flash of flame appeared underneath the back of the car. Track checked and all OK.

Freddy back in competition after a fellow racer sent his girlfriend with parts from Sweden overnight.
Big shake for both, 1.1456 to sixty for Freddy and 1.2205 for Bruno, Bruno's motor zinged as the Vette turned
left, Freddy's passenger side door flapped open. The cars got quite close both near to the centre line,
a pedal each and hooked up and went. Freddy visibly ahead at the eighth 4.4928/184.16 to Bruno's 4.9055/171.10,
Freddy to the stripe first by 0.5626.

Pre-stage burndown, then Jan strapped a 0.0782 to 0.3396 holeshot on Wayne. Jan to sixty in 1.1088,
no sixty for Wayne. Both hit shake Wayne's Vette made a move and he had to pedl then the car
picked up with a much better eighth 4.1211/158.81 to Jan's 4.5239/180.46 but Jan had too much of
a start line advantage.

Currently misty but dry here at Santa Pod. The gantry is not actually visible from the office but once the sun

somewhere and quite possibly without access to the outside world; either way we hope you are having fun
