16:00 Super Street Bike qualifying session 2 The usual mass meeting in the start area denoting the arrival of SSB. Graham Balchin up from #9 to #7 and Jem Ven in at #10 in the first pair. Then the call from the top end that we have rain in the air, next pair shut off before the burnout. On the restart, our Swedish visitor Robert Nilsson into #2 spot, crew looked happy with that. Blackstriping for Pete Field in the other lane and shut it off. Next pair and Graham Dance stopped by the Tree, in the other lane some hesitation from Mathis Bohlin's motor losing him ET. Blackstriping for Rick Stubbins, shut off and idled through, improvement for Ven in the other lane but stayed #6. Some clean-up in Richard's lane. During the clean-up it started to rain again. On the re-start 1.2731 to sixty for Daniel Donat Lencses but then the bike started to fishtail and he shut it off.

14:50 Funny Bike qualifying session 2 Great to see and hear Pete LeGros' Sledgehammer out there. Motor sounded hesitant in the burnout but a good checkout pass. Next pair and Lorcan Parnell shut it off about 300 feet out, bike was drifting to the right but maybe a planned shut-off anyway. Next pair and Eric Richard hit bad shake, shut it off a few yards out, just made it to the stripe in 22.4519 at all of 25.10 mph. Next pair and Dave Peters rode out shake, in the other lane Dave Buttery's motor hesitated and he stopped by the Tree, pushed back.

14:45 Comp Bike qualifying session 2 Slight improvement for Martin Walker, stayed in place. Mick Winyard's motor sounded to be struggling a little compared to his last pass, in the other lane Phil Leamon got to half track before the Vehvac bike started to drift towards the guardrail. Fantastic run for Scott Collier, kicked his PB into next week and into #1 spot. More to come there, too, as he rode through shake. Dad Jerry's initial reaction was a "That'll do" nod then started hugging people. Well done Scott, Steve and team! Then a few spots of rain, luckily not much as it would have been a bark had rain annulled this qualifier after Scott's stormer. Didn't I tell you there was more to come from Tony Clark's bike, into #1 spot on the re-start.

14:35 ET Bike qualifying session 2 Steve Moor first up the ladder, #14 to #11 alongside Fiona Moor. Breakout for Giselle Moor on her first run of the weekend. Next pair and Alfie Udall lost fire before staging, pushed back. Gentle launch for Jasmine Cordelle, new launch routine maybe as the bike has been hesitating off the line. dave Grundy up from #4 to #2, in the other lane Paul Adams pulled one of those wheelies which looked like the rear wheel came off the ground too.

Motor was making interesting chuffing noises as it wound up. Rolled the beams slightly, 4.0842/206.19 at the eighth then shut off and chute out. Main Event racer Test and Tune Al Williamson 10.1311/142.54 bye Tyre spin at the hit, a pedal and back on it. 11:40 Main Event racer Test and Tune Neil Midgley (Supertwin) 8.7332/101.27 bye 1.1126 to sixty feet, going great guns until about 400 feet when the motor sounded to be mixing cylinders, yes all two of them, and Midgo got off the gas. Robin Read (Super Pro ET) 8.9973/85.54 bye Robin in the nitro-powered Daimler dragster, this run scheduled as far as the first-second shift. 1.0610 to sixty then off the gas about 500 feet out. We will update with news of racers testing for next week. 11:20 Super Street Bike qualifying session 1 Pete Field's motor hesitated off the line costing him ET. Steve Mead's motor cut out at the hit after making a weird noise when he tried to go up on the revs in stage. No ET or speed for Jemma Venables, didn't notice that she left early. Nicely judged run for these conditions by Rick Stubbins. Next up welcome to another Swedish guest Robert Nilsson. Rode out a wheelie at mid-track but a great baseline. Garry Bowe feathered the throttle in the second half. Our next honoured guest from Sweden Mathias Bohlin followed Garry, great basline good for #4 at that point.

11:10 Pro Stock Bike qualifying session 1 Good save by Alex Hope as after quite a strong launch the bike suddenly fishtailed and looked to try to throw him off. Ian Burns' motor cut out at the hit and he was pushed back. Len Paget's bike headed for the 330 foot reflector, Len did a good job of holding on to it and pulling it back towards the centre of the lane.

11:05 Funny Bike qualifying session 1 A couple of goes at the burnout for Lorcan Parnell, then shut off for a leak before staging. Good opener for Allan Davies, on his form this season he's worth a punt for next Funny Bike racer into the sixes. Front end up then rear end unloaded for Thomas Joswig, off the gas and idled through. The usual one-wheel journey for Eric Richard, stayed on the gas even though the permanently-wheelying bike was drifting towards the centre line. Nice opener for Dave Peters to close the session.

10:40 Comp Bike qualifying session 1 Good run to start with for Dave Batcheler but then the bike was heading for the guardrail whether he liked it or not. Dave stayed on the gas as long as he could but then shut it off at about half track. Similar story for Phil Leamon but in the other direction as the bike wanted to kiss the centre line. This not being Match.com Phil backed out of it and pulled the bike away. Second burnout for Scott Collier as the rear slick briefly shook, the bike bounced up and down then the slick unloaded and went up in smoke. Scott shut it off and pulled over to the side of the track about 1000 feet out. More to come from Tony Clark's bike as the motor sounded to misfire about 100 feet out losing him time, then picked up as the terminal speed shows.

The Webster Race Engineering / Nimbus Motorsport webcam will be on-line broadcasting live video and commentary / trackside audio mix so long as the track is open. Thanks to Maikel and our friends at Doyousee.me for streaming services. Please ensure that you read the note on the webcam landing page concerning the audio feed. No GantryCams for the time being as we are on a dedicated network to the satellite uplink and the GantryCams are not visible from that network. The choice was No GantryCam or No Webcast, I think we made the right call. It's a nice day here at Santa Pod, sun and some cloud. It rained heavily yesterday and there was light rain overnight so the track was drenched first thing. The track crew were in action by 07:00 and right now the strip looks pretty much there, the shutdown areas looks to be receiving finishing touches. A big Good Morning to all of the Eurodragsterholics, especially our faithful fans Ivar Kolberg in Norway and Kai Plathan and Otto in Finland. Today's running order has cycles of qualifying and then RWYB sessions including racers testing for next weekend's FIA/FIM Main Event. Our plan is for the usual real-time reports and results during the day and a gallery at the end of the day. No pit notes today but Simon will be here tomorrow so there will be notes then.
