Liam McDonald looked to have trouble staging, maybe the car sticking to the track as happened to a few at Hockenheim, Dominik Novak took the bye. Holly Moore's first run of the day a 0.0794 RT good for #25. Holley Marshall up from #14 to #3 at 0.0033. Liam back in the other lane took a bye, 0.0446. 0.0026 for Billy Everitt in the penultimate pair good for a move up from #14 to #3, in the other lane a -0.0152 red but a solid 8.1233 for Joe Holland-Villa whose car has been very porly recently so the team will be pleased enough to get down the track.

Another great run for Austin Jaques, +0.0096 on dial-in to complement the earlier +0.0064 which won him #4. In the other lane Ian Brown's Camaro looked to jump out of gear at the hit, idled downtrack. -0.0076 red for Billy Gane but made up for it with a +0.0096 on dial-in good for #8. Next up the ladder Nick Good, #26 to #9 at +0.0113. Lee Darby up from #18 to #12 at +0.0155, in the other lane Eurodragster.com sponsor Pete Walters into the sixes in fellow Eurodragster.com sponsor Derek Flynn's dragster with a 6.9324. Halfway through the session and no changes in standings, most unusual. 0.0071 RT for Ian Powell and in the other lane a ladder change as Thomas Haas went up from #24 to #17 at +0.0616. Next pair and Dave Evans up from #24 to #21 at +0.0987. Good to see Al Golding back after problems last session. Car moved about its lane a little as did Mark Flavell's FC in the other lane, after another bouncy launch. Peter Lane up from #33 to #16 after some torrid times so far today, +0.0521. Two pars later reigning Champion Jordan Payne which gives Your Reporter the opportunity to say many thanks to Jordan, mum Sarah, dad Nigel and sister Milly for the sugar-free cake. Great to see our Swedish and German visitors Oskar Norling and Daniel Olic here. Oskar into #4 at +0.0812 whilst Daniel's motor stopped before staging then again in stage. Next pair and problems for both Billy Everitt and Joe Holland-Villa, RTs for both but Billy stopped about 100 feet out and Joe's motor was hesitating all the way down the track, 20.4957 for a JMA tells you all you need to know about that pass. Harry Redshaw in at #2 at 0.0592 next pair, Jack Gooding in at #4 at 0.0733. 0.0286 for Caitlin Wilson good for #1 next pair... which lasted about a minute as Matthew Dowdy went in at 0.0076, close to the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award to boot. 11:45 Comp Eliminator qualifying session 1 Chris Orthodoxou got in touch to say that he had had to withdraw for personal reasons; no Robin in this session either, best wishes to you guys. Rene Ehrismann first in the re-prepped lane and made sure of it with a 200-foot burnout, in the other lane Andy Hone not far short of it with his own burnout. Rene sat in stage for a couple of seconds then took it easy on the run, maybe planned that way. Robin Sattler -0.6975 on index to open his account, in the other lane Kev Perkins looked to shut off a touch early. Skating in the first half for Rob Smallworth but had it covered and into #3.

11:35 Topspeeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying session 1 Looked and sounded like a checkout pass for Anthony Wilkins, straight pass with no drama. Steve Pugh in there for the VWs. Championship leader Mark Todd followed, looked like a baseline pass. At scrutineering this morning Super Gas racer Simon Gough spotted a two pound coin and other pieces of loose change stuck in the side of Mark's driving seat, all the proof you need that he drives that car on the street. Gary Gooding going great guns in the Supra but a big puff of smoke at 1000 feet and then again in the shutdown area. Track checked and all OK, hopefully that bodes well and Gary took #1 at that point. Fantastic run for Joe Stevens to close the session! New PB we believe, well done Joe!

11:20 Super Comp qualifying session 1 A big Hello to everyone at Fix Auto in Penzance, thanks very much for your support of the sport via Martin Curbishley who is competing in Paul Marston Racing's dragster. Single lane running continued, start line being scraped in the other lane after John Gerritsen's incident. Conrad Stanley opened the session +0.0046 on index, close to the Eurodragster.com Perfect ET Award supporting Bloodwise. Next up Scott Crookston and the Flying Fifers' first outing in Super Comp, 150-foot burnout as is mandatory for any car owned by Colin Millar and then a great +0.0364. Slight hesitation for Paul Letchford's motor at half track and tehen more hesitation from the timing computer which didn't show an ET or speed. -0.0015 squeaker RT for Pete Creswell but #2 spot +0.0111. Great to see Wild Bunch racer Darryl Howells running here in Super Comp, breakout 8.8539. Next up Martin Curbishley in the PMR rail, 0.0302 RT and 9.1316 audibly feathering the throttle in the second half. First competitive outing for Paul Hudson in his rail, having previously campaigned doorslammers. Paul tested here yesterday. Lost fire after the burnout but quickly restarted without drama. Motor sounded to be misfiring, shut off past the eighth and something came off the car just past 1000 feet.

11:05 Gearhead Garage UK Super Pro ET qualifying session 1 Dave Russell off the gas at half track in the first pair, a bit of a wobble at that point but that may just have been the twang getting off the gas. Barry Giles early #1 at +0.0503. Stefan Jansson rolled through stage, in the other lane a bouncy launch for Mark Flevell in the Funny Car and the FC started making serious moves left and right towards half track, looked to shut off a touch early but not too early as the speed shows. Check of the track after Dave Evans and Ian Brown paired up, rack crew loked to be picking up small pieces just before the traps, but a report from the shutdown area "Absolutely nothing on the track here". Hopefully nothing amiss. Joe Kellett into #1 +0.0096 on dial-in, first to take a tilt at the Eurodragster.com Perfect ET Award supporting Bloodwise. Next pair and Laura Turburville in at #2 +0.0223. very encouraging 7.45 dial-in on Jack Brewser's Firebird, reaping the benefits of the blower, 7.6189. In the other lane Chris Parker into #1 by 0.0001 seconds, +0.0095. 8.3867 on 8.52 dial-in for Bob Doyle in the Datsun, PB territory I am thinking and so far as I know Spencer still has that hole, well done Bob, Tracey and team! In the other lane one car and two Eurodragster.com sponsors, Pete Walters in Derek Flynn's blown-alcohol dragster +0.0228 good for #4 at that point and a very happy team. Sounded like a bang from Peter Lane's motor, shut off and took the emergency exit just past the stripe. Netx pair and drama as John Gerritsen's big Bel Air spun round at the hit and the reat left quarter hit the guardrail. A long trali of fluid told the tale of that one. Car had to be pushed forwards to enable the door to be opened far enough for John to get out, he was quite OK. Into single lane running whilst clean-up was completed. Johan Oomen closed the session, 6.85 dial-in and a new PB of 6.7495/200.73, well done Johan and team!

10:05 Modurstang Pro ET qualifying session 1 First pair and a big cloud of smoke from Jon Turner's Cuda in the shutdown area, track checked and all OK. David Withington's Manta stopped off the line second pair, pushed back. Real good to see Al Platt back out on track and it's like he was never away, +0.0344 off the trailer good for #1 at that point. Rick Denny likewise a racer of whom we don't see enough, took over #1 at that point +0.0180. James Oliver's shoe-pinked dial-in showed signs of being overwritten at the last moment, not a bad call at +0.0546. Nextpair and Wayne Hiscock took over #5 at +0.0461. Eurodragster.com sponsor Tig Napier with an early shut-off checkout pass after the rebuild, 11.99 dial-in but 10.3143 even backing out at 1000 feet or so. Next run and Eddy van den Bos took over #1 at +0.0150. Mike Lacey back in his own car, held a perfect wheelie out to sixty feet and then a 9.1640 on 9.20 dial-in, I guess all parts in working order. Next pair and Lee Guy into #1 +0.0134. Alan Medley's big Olds towed back to the pits whilst the next pair ran, hopefully quickly remedied. Next pair and Gino Bernadine's bonnet came off the car right on the stripe, looked to be intact, we'll see on his next outing. Ron Hoogenboom's Beretta bearing the legend $ Sale on the back window and a 0.0063 breakout but all eyes on Callum Swinchatt in the other lane as his altered got out of shape, spun round once and sideswiped the left guardrail 300 feet out. Callum out of the car very quickly and the safety crews were there in moments; the top end ambulance seemed to be there pretty much as quickly as the quad from the startline, great work all. 0.0037 RT for Lee Huxley, first to take a tilt at the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award.
