Dennis Priddle's engine out of Mr Revell is now residing in Ian Turburville's True Blood slingshot and was cackled at 1pm today alongside Bill Sherratt's slingshot.

Eurodragster.com sponsor Matt Wright has a turbine engine in his slingshot. His crewman said 'The car uses about three litres of fuel each run and the engine is really simpler than it looks. The problem is getting the power to the ground, we have a three speed B&J and don't use first and second is too low. so we are thinking of going the direct drive route with a slider clutch'. The car, built by Bill Felstead, should go very quickly once sorted as it is very light.

Joe Bond and team were happy with the race up to the final, where Joe red lit and then had engine problems. The team are pictured in the pairing lanes before the final.

Bob Hawkins was the winner of Slingshot Showdown running a string of PBs and a 6.664/194 in the final. He said 'We sold Time Traveller I to a Yorkshire racer and Tom will be going circuit racing, and I will concentrate on one car. Changing to a BBC has been good, we would have needed to buy a lot of trick parts to run this quick with a SBC'.

Gasser Circus runner-up John Grant who was Super Street champion twice, is racing a 454ci engined Ford Falcon with Nick Grant and ran in four rounds on Sunday to defeat Steve Matthews, Katie Booth, Kevin Strevett and breaking out by less than 100th second in the final against Merv Barnett. .

Super Stock winner Adam Nowak in his 440ci Nowak & Son Racing 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner defeated James Oliver, Amy Watkins, John Davison and a red-lighting Lee Chiles in the final.

Caj Carlsson's slingshot is a 1969 Don Long Top Fuel chassis with Tom Hanna body, the same maker as Dennis Priddle's legendary Mr Revell and supplier of a lot of cars of the era. Caj said 'I bought the car from Texas about six years ago and the owner said he had not run it for many years. I brought it home to Sweden and rebuilt it; the engine is a Donovan serial no. 160 displacing 484ci with nitro heads and a Blower Shop 6-71 with billet internals. I have run a best of 6.61 in it at Kjula Raceway near Stockholm. Here it broke the flexplate, the oil pump and an input shaft which we hope to replace. Caj thanks Joran Persåker for loan of his trailer and Scania for loan of a tractor unit.

Magnus Larsson's Fools Gold Competition Coupe has a BAE engine and he qualified no.3 for the Slingshot Showdown and went 7.27/182 on a bye in round one of eliminations.

Gasser Circus racer Bengt Eriksson runs a 57 Chevy Bel Air called Rattler. He said 'I first came to Santa Pod ten years ago and raced my Harley Breakout and ran my first nine on it. Now, 10 years later, I ran my first nine in Rattler and have gone as quick as 9.68 at this event which is great. The car is suffering from overheating problems so I am keeping my eye on the temperature guage and hope for a full pull'. In round one, he suffered a broken propshaft on the launch and that was the end of the meeting for him.

Slingshot Showdown racer Leif Andersson races Super Comp in Sweden, but the injected BBC clearly has a huge performance reserve as he ran 7.36/179.95 to defeat Roy Wilding, whose great-sounding blown hemi car stumbled on the run to a 8.63/185.

Nostalgia Cannonball winner Ramon van der Weurf ran a 6.41 test pass on Friday and then a 6.51/208 on Saturday. On Sunday he went 6.35/216 against a red lighting Tony Betts. He said 'The first run was on soft settings and the second had tyre shake. Dragstalgia will be my only race outing for this year as I have got a lot of work on in the construction sector in Utrecht. I have done a full programme for each of the last six years however the three months I have spent off work and racing each year has been tough financially'.

Tony Betts in the Venom Funny Car ran 6.59/207, 6.61/211 and 7.10/206, the third run with smoke out of the headers causing it to slow with cylinders out. The team was back in the finals but red lit on a 6.514/214 against Ramon.

Kjell Andersson's 56 Ford Crown Victoria known as Dogcatcher has a 489ci Chevy engine with 10/71 blower and twin 950cfm Holley carbs pushing out 1220hp on E85 fuel. Transmission is via PG and nine inch Ford and his best time is 9.46/140mph. .

Stefan 'Grumpy Greg' Flodell runs Super Nova which is for sale. The car has a BBC of 468ci with Crower fuel injection running on methanol with an output of 800hp. He has a PG and Ford 9" rear and the car is self built with a tube chassis. Its best is 9.55/138.

Nostalgia Cannonball racer Bob Glassup's crew Dave Gibbons said 'The car is giving us a bit of gip, we have trans issues. We are ready to go but it's not playing; we warmed it up but the transmission locked up. We have taken it apart several times and more or less worn the threads out. At least the engine is as good as gold'. After not running in the first session, he went 7.66/159 yesterday evening and 7.30/190 this morning.

Steph Milam said she had suffered tyre shake in the first session on 7.46/160. 'I may not have given it enough, the team will just check and then we will be back'. Her run in the second session was 6.348/222 and in the third a 6.86/213 to go third after three sessions.

Henri "Frasse" Lübke ran a PB of 7.54 in his blown SBC altered this morning. The car was built in 1978 by the legendary Kjellin brothers of Top Fuel fame in Bureå, Sweden and has a SBC of 383ci with Mooneyham 8/71 blower, PG and Ford 9" rear. The chassis was originally 110in and raced by Christer and Benny Svensson but extended to 125in in the 1980s. Raced every year since it was built, the mid wing was inspired by the AA/FA 'Yellow Submarine' from the early 1970s.

Clive Mechaell's altered looks pristine and we hoped to see him on track but sadly the rear main seal wouldn't seal and he was a no-show in the rwyb section.

Pro Stock Bike racer Erik Bauer has this 880cc Benelli, built by Rob Jansen and raced by him and Rob van Ginneken from the late 70s to early 80s.

Paul Watson has a blown methanol altered which was completed only on Saturday and fired up at the track for the first time. He said 'The chassis was raced by Clayton Round and Jayne Kaye and there is a new engine. Thanks to Gary Springford for his help building the car, Jeff Bull for the engine and my crew Joe Harris, and to Image Worx for the wrap on the body'. Paul's plans are to run Super Pro

Tom Davis has a Rover powered Competition Coupe and initial runs were in the 13s.

Wild Bunch racer Phil Sweeney now has an injected SBC slingshot and ran a checkout pass in session one, held this morning after rain caused the cancellation of yesterday's session. He later ran 9.005/148.

Terry Homan went down the track on the historic Drag Waye bike to a speed of almost 100mph.

Pro Stock Bike racer Nick Pepper looked happy to be back on this Suzuki GS 1000 bike.

Harold Bull's grandson Troy Bull made his initial passes in the beautifully reproduced Strip Duster, both up against Bradley Cooper.

Jonny Morris has a road legal Thames Wheelie bus, with a race spec Ford 355ci with an output of 700hp with nitrous. It has a full custom interior - best of all worlds.

Al Mearns has a Andy Robinson chassis and is road legal with a steel body apart from rear wings. The engine is a Chevy 383cu in four bolt with TH400 gearbox. Alan said 'It's for sale for £30,000 and I am planning on buying Dave Sidaway's Outlaw Anglia Fordson'.

Giedrius Jurevicius from Lithuania has a nice Topolino, unusually with a turbocharged engine. He ran 8.1s/160 on soft settings.

Charlie Sewell had two on track incidents on separate runs on Friday, on the first he narrowly missed the tree and hit the front VP Fuels a-board and 60ft reflector, with minor damage to the car's front. Returning later with the front removed, on launching, the car's front wheel departed contact with the hub, coming to a safe halt on the race surface.

Duncan 'Cannonball' Watts has his Duster in rwyb and also brought his Challenger.

Justin Woolner's Rat Rod was on display last year but he couldn't resist putting it on the track. The blown BBC powered Ray Rod ran low 10s in excess of 135mph in rwyb which we guess would have been quite interesting visually for him.

John Byng's Morris Minor has a Chevy LS2 engine which pushed him to times in the low 11s, a real 'street sleeper'.

Lee Chiles and dad George have owned their Plymouth Valiant for three years and ran a first full season in 2016, winning the American Super Stock and Pro ET series at York Raceway. George said 'We are running it as it came except we had to change the 4.56 rear gearing to 4.10 as the engine was running too high revs at the finish line. We also run a methanol and water injection system as the engine is high compression. It's a 440ci with single carb, and has proved reliable'. We will be seeing them again at SPR at the Mopar Euronats.

Nostalgia Super Stock racer Rob Chilton has his '56 Drag'n Wag'n and this is his first time at Dragstalgia. As the signwriting implies, the engine is a 355ci SBC.

Nostalgia Super Stock racer and Eurodragster.com sponsor Tig Napier suffered an oil leak at the Summernationals. He said 'We spent two weekends taking the engine out and putting it back in. It was a part that we could get at with the engine in, but we seem to have cured it'. Like many of the NSS competitors, Tig will be back at the Mopar Euronats.

Hugo Verde from the Frence Riviera, who first attended in 2014 with a Consul, now has a 29 Chevy Altered called Rabid Rat with injected 498ci engine and PG gearbox. He said 'I got the car last winter and have done a best of 8.39 in it.

Andy Solley's Repeat Offender altered hasn't been at the track for some time, first appearing in 2001 and 2002 but a good seven or eight years since last with the Wild Bunch.

Valdo Westphal from Noumea, S. Pacific has made a trip of 10,000 miles to get here but is delighted to have run a 8.277/160. He said 'We don't have a track on Noumea and have only ever run the car to 200m at my home track, Tomo Valley Raceway in New Caledonia. I have had the car for eleven years, I bought it in France although it was originally built in the USA. It has a BBC and Powerglide, and thanks to my team who are over from France'.

Christian Frei's Slingshot titled Linac#2, has run a best of 8.02 with his big block Mopar engine of 500ci on methanol. Here his best time in Wild Bunch qualifying was 9.35/121. He was last racing here in 2015.

Outlaw Anglia racer Ronnie Mercer is racing in the class for the first time, having built the car from scratch two years ago. He said 'It has a 302ci Ford engine bored and stroked to 331ci with an Edelbrock 750 carb and Ford C6 gearbox and nine inch Ford rear. I boxed the chassis and added a roll cage and have done a best of 11.2s to date'.

The Outlaw Anglia class, now sponsored by Serck Motorsport, bought no less than sixty Fez hats in support of Scott Goulding, Phil Middleton's friend and crew who passed away recently.

Slingshot showdown racer Rolf Nilsson' Hocus Pocus supercharged SBC engine is from Kenny Gomez, however he suffered problems and couldn't qualify for eliminations.
