17:15 MSA Pro Modified qualifying session 3 (left lane first) Mick Payne 7.8423/125.14, Bobby Wallace 6.9313/183.58; Bert Englefield 6.2848/225.86, Wayne Nicholson 13.8152/54.03; Michel Tooren 6.1195/236.51, Kev Slyfield 6.5563/213.89; Marck Harteveld 7.7179/125.11 bye Looked like problems getting the nitrous system working for Bobby, sorted just before starter Ian Marshall sent Mick into stage. 1.0308 to sixty for Bobby, 1.0812 for Mick, Mick's Camaro heading out of the groove and he feathered the throttle before the eighth 4.5409/142.04. Bobby didn't sound on full thottle all the way and was rolling off the throttle after the eighth 4.4660/165.19 but had enough momntum for a six. Shake for Wayne passing the Tree, 1.0901 to sixty and off the gas by 200 feet. 1.0529 to sixty for Bert, again no sign of shake or other problems, 4.1087/179.16 at the eighth. 0.0079 RT for Michel, closest yet to the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award, then 1.0494 to sixty, 1.0544 to sixty for Kev. Kev's Thunderbird drifted right a little but he had it covered but then looked like a brief pedal about 250 feet out, either way he visibly lost momentum before picking it up again, 4.2343/168.89 at the eighth. Meanwhile 4.0368/186.49 to the eighth for Michel and another PB ET, consolidating his #1 spot. Well done Michel and team! Marck's earlier pass DQ'd for weight violation so Last Chance Saloon to get in tomorrow. 1.0187 to sixty, shake and the car started to make a move out of the groove and he was off the gas by the eighth 4.3077/141.52. Marck's run quick enough to bump Mick Payne so Marck will be racing tomorrow. We subsequently heard that Marck's run in this session had also been DQ'd for weight violation and in fact he has been completely removed from the official standings. Qualifying after this session:

14:15 MSA Pro Modified qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Kev Slyfield 6.4743/219.31 bye; Andy Robinson 6.5932/183.62, Marck Harteveld 6.4403/211.86; Bobby Wallace 7.0754/157.93 bye, Mick Payne shut off; Roger Moore 6.3958/218.13, Michel Tooren 6.1726/237.33 1.0146 to sixty for Kev, shake and drift started past the Tree and the engine note went up, Kev feathered it and steered it back towards the centre of the lane. Back full on the gas past the eighth 4.2288/172.34. Marck away first 0.1064 to Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy's 0.1441, Andy with the better sixty 1.0172 to Marck's 1.0257. Andy drove through shake then looked like a pedal and the car started to bounce towards the eighth 4.2130/174.87. March to the eighth in 4.1937/174.02 but all eyes on Andy as there was a big puff of smoke from under the car at 1000 feet. Mick's crew looked to have trouble pulling the right chute pin before staging, a yank and the pack came open and the drogue dropped out onto the track, Mick shut off. 1.0447 to sixty for Bobby, feathering the throttle just off the line then full on it about 150 feet out. 4.3667/164.18 to the eighth then rolled off the throttle about 1000 feet out. Great pair of runs between Roger and Michel! Michel away first 0.0235 to 0.1052, Roger had the better sixty 1.0139 to 1.0466. Roger's Viper started to drift right but he stayed with it whilst Michel was headed down the middle of his lane. 4.4519/174.86 to the righth for Roger then was close to the centre line in the second half. 4.0852/237.33 to the eighth for Michel and into #1 spot. Another new PB speed for Michel, Roger also with a PB speed and right on PB ET form. Well done both! Steve Rawlings on an observed run made the burnout this time around but then shut off after a small belt snapped and dropped on to the track. Word later came back that Marck's run had been DQ'd for weight violation. Qualifying after this session:

A very welcome guest here Sweden's Roger Johansson who is consulting with the Wallaces, on crutches but looking well. 1.0409 to sixty, to the top of second gear then off the gas. 1.0150 to sixty for Marck, car was heading left pretty much from the hit, shake past the Tree and off it before 300 feet. Roger to sixty in 1.0601, nice straight launch with no real sign of shake. 4.3006/165.20 at the eighth, off the pedal about 1000 feet, bang from the exhaust. Wayne visibly away first 0.2228 to Mick's 0.6223, Mick had the better sixty 1.0525 to 1.0586. Wayne drove through slight shake and held on to the Vette as it headed for the centre line, in the other lane Mick's Camaro was also heading for the line. Bearly audible feather for Wayne, 4.4819/157.79 at the eighth. Mick having to pedal 4.7482/137.71 at the eighth and off it altogether as the car got very close to the second half reflectors. Michel to sixty in 1.0566, Kev shake-stricken at 1.1646 and shut it off. Michel's car was really pouring the power on from the eighth 4.1178/183.46. Courtesy of the information sheet kindly supplied by MSA Champiponship PR Robin Jackson we can tell you that Michel's 234.08 was a new PB speed by 0.03 mph. Fantastic run from Bert to beat his PB and take #1. 0.9728 to sixty, the car really accelerating hard in the first half with no sign of shake. 4.0217/178.46 at the eighth, straight hard run with no drama. The Webster Race Engineering / Nimbus Motorsport webcast will be on-line from about 09:00 broadcasting live video and commentary / Nitro FM audio so long as the track is open. It's a nice day here at Santa Pod, sun and fluffy cloud. We had some rain overnight but the track is dry and looking good for what is currently scheduled to be a 10:00 start although we understand that the final of yesterday's Gearhead Garage UK Top Sportsman Fast Bracket may take place before 10:00. The plan for today is for real-time reports and stats on MSA Pro Modified qualifying, which is due at 11:00, 14:00 and 17:00, this morning's final of the Gearhead Garage UK Top Sportsman Fast Bracket, Gasser Circus qualifying and the Gearhead Garage UK Top Sportsman Heads-up one-shot qualifier, then a photo gallery at the end of the day.
