There are 175 pictures in the gallery; if you do not see all 175 updated thumbnails when you load the gallery page then click on your Browser's Refresh button. 20:15 Super Comp qualifying session 8 Drama in the first run of the session as Richie Webb's Beetle got out of shape, Richie pulled it back as usual, but the car wanted its own way fo a change and turned right and hit the guardrail just past the stripe, 8.2649/139.93. Top end safety crews were right by the incident and were as ever there in moments. Richie got himself out of the car. On the restart an excellent 0.0017 RT by Paul Brown. Paul Watson back into #1 at 8.9045, 0.004 off the Eurodragster.com Perfect ET Award in support of NSPCC. Next pair and anything Paul Brown can do Pete Creswell can do, 0.0017 RT. Jon Morton's Camaro left the line when he went up on the revs, no time. In the other lane an improvement for Paul Letchford but stayed #7. 0.0094 RT for Collin Morrice with the last run of the day.

Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying session 8 Smoke from Mark Sheridan's Cuda and he was on the brakes; pity as he was on quite some run but always better to get off the gas if you suspect problems, there's always tomorrow. Quick sled of the top end ensued. Big wheelie by dave Murdoch about 200 feet out, pedalled and wond it down. Big wheelie too for Gary Gooding, calmly pedalled it and stood on it again, 7.8212/181.41. Improvement for Jonny Smith, stayed #10.

19:35 Comp Eliminator qualifying session 8 Big wheelie and into the forbidden red zone for Mike Oats. Stefan Winter's motor zinged on launch, idled through and rescued from the top end. Improvement for Rob Smallworth but stayed #4. Final pair and an improvement for Belinda Bull but stayed #2, in the other lane Robin Orthodoxou went off the end of the track. All OK, took the old exit road by the sound of things.

FIM Europe Super Street Bike Cup qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Single lane running after Jemma Venables' bike dropped oil in the left lane bleach box. 1.1958 sixty for Ven presaged the first half of a new European ET record, the quickest run we have seen in European Super Street Bike. New PB for Bengt, well done Bengt and team! Great match between Thomas and Magnus. Thomas visibly moved first 0.0443 to 0.1743 but Magnus had the better sixty 0.9932 to 1.0347 and the better eighth 4.2978/163.98 to Thomas' 4.3100/164.73. Thomas had the chutes out before the stripe. You all know that I yield to no-one in my admiration for every racer, if you think about Micke's close-up view on his last run then here he is back again calm as anything that explains all you need to know about why I feel that way. Johan's first competitive pass in The Old 51 after successful testing. 0.9837 to sixty for Johan then headed for the centre line, off it by about 330 feet. Fantastic pass for Michel. 1.0335 to sixty, 4.1982/174.95 at the eighth, creeping up on it nicely. Rekatively languid 1.2914 to sixty for Wayne, 4.9478/147.57 at the eighth, Vette was making moves and Wayne shut it off after a right turn. 1.1285 to sixty for Bert, the car visibly picked up a couple of hundred feet out, 4.2966/172.94 at the eighth. Richard Hann shut off after the burnout in the next pair, Mark Hope took the bye, excellent 0.0034 RT. Good save job by Daniel Donat Lencses, tyre blackstriped and bike started to squiggle and head for the centre line, Daniel pulled it back before hitting the 330 foot reflector. 1.2547 sixty for Pete Field, backed out of it in the second half. 1.2293 sixty foot for Ven presaged a great run. Excellent run too for Garry Bowe.

Quick sled of Andy's lane. 1.0033 to sixty for Roger, 0.9839 to Bruno who then drove through shake as if it wasn't happening. Roger looked to be getting off the gas by the eighth 4.7795/124.76, Bruno on a stormer at the eighth 3.9116/186.99 then off the gas and chutes out before the stripe so plenty more to come there. Drama in the next pair. Roger to sixty in 0.9764 to Micke's 1.0042 driving through what looked like high-frequency shake. Roger on a stormer to the eighth 3.9775/186.52 to Micke's 4.0433/186.31, Roger's Mustang drifted left then suddenly turned hard right past 1000 feet and hit the guardrail in front of Micke who took avoiding action and was luckily off the gas and had the chutes out - it looked very close. Safety crews moved instantly. After a careeful extrication Roger was medevac'd to hospital by air ambulance to be checked out as you'd expect after a high-speed crash. Word came back later that Roger had a broken leg... it could have been one hell of a lot worse. 11:00 FIA Top Methanol Dragster qualifying session 1 (left lane first) Chris Polidano 8.3745/256.69 bye; Dave Wilson 5.4859/258.15, Rod Harrison 7.2792/142.54 Chris hit the throttle for the burnout and not much happened. Blipped a few times but tyres never anywhere near lighting. Back for another go, one stab in reverse then another couple, no forward motion. Chris elected to run anyway. Instant tyre smoke at the hit, pedalled a couple of times and then hit it - red mist I suspect. Car hooked up and went about 300 feet out. 6.5026/201.68 at the eighth. Next pair and Rod Harrison's first run in European Champioonship competition. Dave's tyres didn't light on the burnout, the throttle sounded lazy. 0.9960 to sixty for Grumpy, 1.0346 for Rod after clearing a couple of cylinders at the hit, sounded like a pedal for Grumpy and then the car picked up and went, 3.6641/219.13 at the eighth. The usual long burnout and half-track stop for Robin Orthodoxou then a gutsy drive with the altered bouncing, all four wheels off at least once judging by the tyre tracks. Andy Frost next up, drove through shake and then a puff of smoke from the motorin the second eighth. Track checked and a mist of fluid found. Clean-up called.

Well, Tom's lead lasted two pairs as Phil Toppin took over the lead from #25 spot, +0.0010 on dial-in. The money is surely going to go soon! John Przybl shut off, looked like fluid leak. A quick look at the standings half way through the session, how about 0.0083 getting you #9! Whatever ailed John Przybyl sorted as he re-fired and pulled a burnout ready to run against Eurodragster.com sponsor Pete Walters, but then shut off again before staging. Pedal then shut off early for Pete. Marius Blackburn's motor sounded to be on the limiter in the burnout, tyres did not strike. In the other lane big burnout from Peter Lane, then when he went up on the revs the Chevy shot backwards. Pete stopped it very quickly and got a quizzical look from starter Dave Warren for his troubles. Looked like problems for Brad Jackson, shut it off in the second eighth. John Przybyl back for a third attempt, perfectly OK by the rules as he had not been anywhere near staging on the previous couple of attempts. No problems this time save a breakout, breakout also for Wouter van Leersum in the other lane. Good to see Mark Flavell back after yesterday's blower pop. Little hop off the line but clean run although it sounded like the car was not on full throttle, more to come there. Joe Kellett up from #15 to #8 next pair +0.0055 on dial-in, in the other lane Scott Hauser was +0.0068 on dial-in but already #4 with his previous best. Embarrassed looks but ultimately smiles from Rene Meierhofer's team as they omitted to hold up their dial-in until reminded by Chief Starter Ian Marshall.

Next pair and James Forster moved up from #22 to #14 at +0.0158. Problems for Rhiannon Bellenie next pair, identical 0.0171 RTs for Rhiannon and Simon Innes but then Rhiannon shut it off past half track, made it to the Scrutineering gate though. Eurodragster.com sponsor Nic Williams and brother Dan side-by-side next pair. 0.0092 RT for Nic, both stayed in place in the ladder. 0.0068 RT for Laura Baynton. Dave Nicol went from Pro ET to Super Pro ET and now back in Pro ET, the dragster still under development. 9.00 dial-in, 9.0262 good for #20.
