17:30

European Nitro Funny Car Series final

Kevin Kent 4.3432/278.49 def. Patrik Pers no time DQ

Kevin visibly moved first 0.1818 to 0.2357, Patrik had the better sixty 0.9143 to 0.9309, Patrik's tyres were shaking and the Speedghost FC crossed lanes behind Kevin. Kevin to the eighth in 3.4806/244.00 and on the gas all the way to the stripe. Something looked to come off Kevin's FC in the shutdown area. Kevin's 4.343 is a new Series record, well done Kevin, Bodie and team!

17:10

FIA Top Fuel Dragster final

Stig Neergaard 5.4298/127.00 def. Micke Kågered 7.8660/95.09

Stig just barely away first 0.1359 to 0.1373, Micke had the better sixty 0.8604 to 0.8652, Micke's tyres were shaking past the Tree and he shut it off before 330 feet. Stig shut off for shake and hourglassing a moment later then stomped back on it to make sure of it. Smoke then fire from Stig's motor. Oil in Stig's lane in the shutdown area, clean-up called.

17:06

FIA Pro Modified final

Bruno Bader 5.9397/235.28 def. Micke Gullqvist 5.9649/245.07

Bruno away first 0.0750 to 0.1256. Micke had the better sixty 0.9757 to 0.9795, no shake for either and looked side-by-side, stellar 3.8740/190.37 to the eighth for Bruno, 3.9284/190.15 for Micke. Bruno there first by 0.0758 although Micke was closing at 10 mph faster, just ran out of track.

17:03

FIA Pro Stock final

Jimmy Ålund 6.4585/213.07 def. Thomas Lindström 6.7210/193.67 DQ red light

-0.0499 red from Thomas handed this to Jimmy who would have taken some beting anyway. Storming 0.8860 to sixty, 4.1312/167.27 at the eighth, the quickest ever European Pro Stock ET, well done Jimmy and team! We will check whether that has been backed up during the weekend as soon as we can... OK and we'll stop checking since both the timing crew and Jimmy's team don't think that the ET is genuine.

17:00

Simon has posted his final set of pit notes which you can check out via the Event Index.

16:57

FIA Top Methanol Dragster final

Jonny Lagg 5.4257/275.33 bye, Chris Polidano broke

Chris' motor started then stopped. Frantic efforts by the crew to re-fire but didn't make it. Jonny took the bye, 0.9708 to sixty, storming 3.6520/220.23 at the eighth as two body panels flew off the car - I guess Jonny didn't notice as he stayed on the gas all the way. New PB for ET and speed, well done Jonny, Krister and the team!

FIA Pro Modified eliminations round 3

Bruno Bader 6.1963/190.52 def. Mats Eriksson 10.7517/76.16 DQ red light

-0.1046 red for Mats handed it to Bruno who was not up on the revs when the lights ran. Bruno to sixty in 0.9766, heading left with shake and pulling it right before the eighth, then the Vette headed left again and almost touched the centre line at the eighth 3.9232/183.51, wrenched it right and looked to be heading for the guardrail but shut it off and got it settled.

Micke Gullqvist 5.9973/242.52 def. Johan Lindberg 0.9140/94.69

Johan visibly left on Micke 0.1013 to 0.1933, Micke had the better sixty 0.9815 to 0.9825. Some shake for Micke, Johan drove through shake and I think I heard his blower refief panel blow; either way Johan played no further part in proceedings. Micke to the eighth in 3.9581/190.16 and the stripe by 2.9247.

FIM Europe Super Street Bike Cup eliminations round 3

Rick Stubbins 7.3036/182.84 def. Richard Hann 7.3203/198.04
Steve Venables 7.0960/208.17 def. def. Garry Bowe 7.1698/206.03 DQ red light

Rick shut off a touch early in his race with Richard. -0.1637 red for Garry handed that race to Ven.

15:20

FIM Europe Pro Stock Bike eliminations round 2

Gert-Jan Laseur no time def. Fredrik Fredlund no time DQ
Alex Hop 7.2508/181.40 def. Mark Smith 7.6975/169.18

Fredde was heading left in the second eighth and hit the quarter mile reflector handing the win to Gert-Jan. Mark got the jump on Alex but Alex had overhaled him by the eighth.

15:15

FIM Europe Supertwin eliminations round 2

Samu Kemppainen 6.7947/175.08 def. Chris Hannam 10.9759/85.05

Samu got away first 0.1801 to 0.2922, Cannon had the better sixty 1.1614 to 1.1982. When the front of Cannon's bike came down it started to drift right and he shut off. Samu to the eighth in 4.3909 and again the front wheel down in the traps, 200.54 eighth speed reported.

Martijn de Haas 7.0608/204.18 def. Roman Sixta 7.3122/164.85

Martijn away first 0.1262 to 0.1474, the better sixty to Roman 1.1474 to 1.2845. Roman had the better eighth 4.6782/157.91 to Martijn's 4.7086/166.05 but then Roman's bike started to head for the guardrail and he had to shut off, Martijn overhauled him in the second half.

15:10

FIM Europe Top Fuel Bike eliminations round 2

Ian King 5.9042/228.93 bye, Filippos Papafilippou shut off

Fil shut off before staging so Ian took the bye. 1.0052 to sixty, no eighths recorded as a piece of litter chose exactly the wrong time to blow through the beams.

Rikard Gustafsson 8.5055/131.43 def. Steve Woollatt 12.2552/62.47

Steve visibly away first 0.1374 to 0.3099, Steve also had the better sixty 1.0366 to 1.0588. Both rode through shake and both shut off before 330 feet, Rikard's bike was drifing towards the guardrail. Rikard got it straught then got back on the throttle a couple of times to take the win.

14:50

FIA Top Fuel Dragster eliminations round 2

Stig Neergaard 3.9725/299.76 def. Liam Jones 4.1126/278.51

The front of Stig's car briefly jumped in the air when he hit the gas for the burnout. Fantastic race, both on the gas all the way. Stig away first 0.1267 to Liam's 0.1424, the better sixty 0.8457 to Liam's 0.8701, and a storming eighth 3.1711/263.15 to Liam's none too shabby 3.2630/250.80. Stig looked to drive it out the back door to make sure of it and took the stripe by 0.1558.

Micke Kågered 24.0308/47.44 bye, Steve Ashdown shut off

Carbon copy of a previous run for Steve as one chute deployed when he came off the burnout. Shut off and Steve got out of the car which was left in the middle of the lane about 200 feet out. Chief Starter Ian Marshall indicated Steve's car to Micke to ensure that he knew that it was there. Micke did the sensible thing, no heroics necessary, took the green and just let off the brakes, literally idled the car along the track but then left a trail of fluid from the quarter mile to the scrutineering exit. Clean-up ensued.

14:30

Eric Teboul followed Pro Stock with a 5.3968/260.49 on his Rocket Bike. 3.6346/226.59 at the eighth and 4.5708/258.93 at 1000 feet.

A quick break for track grooming then on with Pro eliminations.

14:25

FIA Pro Stock eliminations round 2

Jimmy Ålund 7.4844/122.21 bye

0.0094 RT for Jimmy, 0.9958 to sixty, drove through huge shake even though the car turned right. 4.3209/158.45 at the eighth and off the gas.

Thomas Lindström 6.6441/207.05 def. Bengt Ljungdahl 6.6139/207.23

Fantastic holeshot win for Thomas. Visible 0.0265 to 0.1805 jump at the line, every one of Bengt's incrementals was better than Thomas' but to no avail. Bengt to sixty in 0.9663 to Thomas' 0.9780, 330 feet in 2.7531 to 2.7675, the eighth 4.2448/165.33 to Thomas' 4.2686/163.98, but Thomas' start line advantage won him the race by 0.1238.

14:20

FIA Top Methanol Dragster eliminations round 1

Jonny Lagg 5.4873/262.27 def. Dave Wilson 5.5595/259.04

Great race! Jonny visibly moved first 0.0595 to 0.1617 and the better sixty 0.9545 to 1.0040. Both cars stuck, little sign of shake, and both had all eight lit. Jonny was visibly pulling away by the eighth 3.6506/216.93 to Grumpy's 3.7360/215.61 and had the stripe by 0.1744.

Chris Polidano 5.2926/263.66 def. Rod Harrison 5.7949/237.76

Another great pair of runs! Chris away first 0.1402 to Rod's 0.3066, 0.9216 to sixty to Rod's 0.9644. There was no way that Rod was catching Chris who was way ahead at the eighth 3.5075 at a storming 225.30 to Rod's 3.7811/194.55 but! Near ET record form for Chris and Rod smashed his PB into next week. Well done the Kalanc team and well done Rod and the Harrisons!

Bruno Bader 6.0209/231.29 def. Bert Englefield 6.2828/226.92

Bert put up a good fight with another PB but Bruno was on a mission, away first 0.1472 to Bert's 0.2213, the much better sixty 0.9702 to 1.0130. Bert did look to be coming back at Bruno briefly but Bruno had a big lead by the eighth 3.9289/187.77 to Bert's 4.1029/178.41 and had it by 0.3360.

Mats Eriksson 6.0194/237.88 def. Marck Harteveld 6.4088/217.92

Great race. Mats away first 0.1188 to Marck's 0.1962, the better sixty 0.9706 to 1.0435. The cars looked closer together than they were, Mats' eighth much better at 3.9598/189.66 to Marck's 4.1881/176.09 then the Goblin made a move to the right and for a moment it looked as if Mark was going to come back at him. Didn't happen though and Mats took the stripe by 0.4668.

Micke Gullqvist 7.0940/143.51 bye, Thomas Stiefel no show

No Thomas and not heard why. 0.9975 to sixty for Micke, Camaro started to move left before the eighth so Micke pedalled, 4.1578/151.98 at the eighth then backed out of it past the eighth.

Johan Lindberg 5.9928/238.89 def. Kev Slyfield 6.4617/223.31

Huge holeshot for Kev, 0.0805 to Johan's 0.2042. Kev then hit shake but just drove through it, he wasn't giving up, 1.0216 to sixty to Johan's 0.9828. Kev's Thunderbird was moving left and right and was up on at most three wheels at least once. Johan had his hands full overhauling Kev as The Old 51 made a violent move at the eighth 3.9311/188.86 to Kev's 4.2388/174.73 but he wasn't giving up and got the job done by 0.3452.

13:20

European Nitro Funny Car Series eliminations round 1

Kevin Kent 5.6087/127.72 bye

Kevin on ET and speed records but also on a bye so only really needed to take the green. I think the plan may have been a full pass. 0.9308 to sixty, 2.4329 at 330 feet, but then off the gas as the tyres were shaking and the West Ten FC was heading purposefully towards the guardrail.

Patrik Pers 6.2204/110.45 bye, Gordon Smith no show

Patrik heading forward to stage when stopped and the body lifted for a second time. 0.9340 to sixty, a very brief pedal and back on it, tyres started to shake about 150 feet out, Patrik stayed with it to about 300 feet then off the gas, 2.5029 at 330 feet.

13:10

FIM Europe Top Fuel Bike eliminations round 1

Filippos Papafilippou 7.3836/137.37 bye, Rene van den Berg no show

Rene out with damage from a broken valve. 1.0978 to sixty, 4.3613/161/78 at the eighth, sounded to lose gears past the eighth and shut it off.

Steve Woollatt 7.4449/121.56 bye, Lorcan Parnell no show

Lorcan out, see yesterday's pit notes for more information. Steve to sixty in 1.0538, the eighth in 4.1126/153.01, close to the centre line past the eighth so got off the gas.

Rikard Gustafsson 6.0422/212.92 def. Stu Crane 10.0742/84.42

Well, didn't take Rikard long to get the idea of Top Fuel Bike did it! Stu away first by a country mile 0.0985 to 0.45876 and a great sixty 1.0949 bu Rikard started catching him up by sixty, 1.0640. Stu looked to shut it off by the eighth, Rikard on a stormer 3.9606/196.58 then shut it off at about 1000 feet so plenty more to come. Well done Rikard and team and good effort to colour commentator PiPPi who almost smashed his head on the ceiling jumping up and screaming when Rikard's ET came up on the board.

Ian King 6.4593/163.68 def. Glenn Borg 8.3974/115.80

Ian away first 0.1770 to 0.2277 and the much better sixty 1.0080 to 1.1996. Ian's front wheel came down and the bike started to fishtail but he had it covered, 3.8876/188.61 at the eighth. Glenn way behind by then 4.9475/138.12. Looked like a cylinder out for Ian, motor complained and Ian shut off and put the chute out. 1.9888 in it at the stripe

13:00

FIM Europe Supertwin eliminations round 1

Samu Kemppainen no time (bye)

1.2053 to sixty for Samu, bike was drifting left, 4.3865 at a reported 200.36 at the eighth (probably front wheel down in the traps) then crossed lanes and took out the 1000 foot reflector. No DQ of course since Samu took the round win as soon as the green lit.

Chris Hannam 7.3863/177.81 def. Ronny Aasen 12.8451/60.23

Ronny away first 0.2760 to Cannon's 0.3167 and the slightly better sixty 1.1624 to Cannon's 1.1755. The usual clear nitro flames from Ronny's motor but then a bang and a flash and smoke as the front end came down and Ronny got off the gas, Cannon stayed with it, 4.7434/148.65 at the eighth.

Martijn de Haas 7.2557/173.07 def. Hans Olav Olstad 11.9177/71.57

Visible holeshot for Hans Olav 0.2444 to Martijn's 0.3546 and the better sixty 1.2241 to 1.2962. Hans Olav's bike started to move left and he had his hands full keeping it away from the rail, shut off and put the chute out. Martijn to the eighth in 4.7249/164.84, close to the centre line but stayed with it.

Roman Sixta 8.5911/138.20 def. Petr Ceska 9.7413/121.44

Our friends from the Czech Republic together in round one, could have stayed at home and raced but glad that they didn't. Roman had it all in this one, away first 0.1993 to 0.3035, much better sixty 1.1444 to 1.4071, had the luxury of feathering the throttle at the eighth 5.3765/121.57 to Petr's 5.9836/110.97 and then again in the second half.

12:50

FIM Europe Pro Stock Bike eliminations round 1

Mark Smith 7.7083/170.47 def. Bertrand Mauice 14.3017/52.91
Fredrik Fredlund 7.2143/187.33 def. Martin Newbury 7.4790/175.75
Alex Hope 7.2824/177.80 def. Len Paget 10.0657/93.13
Gert-Jan Laseur 7.3043/175.77 def. Martin Bishop 7.5423/176.45

Bertrand got a big jump on Mark but the bike was pulling left and Bertrand was off it by 330 feet. 0.0520 to 0.3647 holeshot for Fredrik over Eurodragster.com sponsor Martin N and 0.5774 win. Len had a bucking bronco ride for the first 100 feet or so and Alex was way clear before 300 feet, Len shut it off. Martin B spanked Gert-Jan off the line 0.0258 to 0.1352 but Gert-Jan had too much for Bish and rode round him, win by 0.1286.

12:45

FIA Pro Stock eliminations round 1

Thomas Lindström 6.6930/206.96 def. Magnus Pettersson 6.7025/206.17 DQ

The sun came out as Magnus and Thomas backed up from their burnouts. I know there are some miserable sods on Facebook who yet again seemed to want to spoil our anticipation of an event by predicting plague, pestilence and rain but yet again it's not happening that way, sorry about that. -0.0065 red by Magnus handed it to Thomas. Thomas to sixty in 0.9901, straight down the middle of his lane, 4.2990/163.05 at the eighth. Magnus in the other lane had the chutes out a touch early but his day was already ended.

Bengt Ljungdahl 6.6152/207.95 def. Michael Malmgren 6.7118/206.29

Michael in stage and up on the revs for a good few seconds before Bengt moved in. Michael away first 0.1388 to 0.2168 but Bengt started to reel him in even by sixty feet 0.9580 to 0.9995. Looked like some shake for Michael about 150 feet out, Bengt's car made a hard move left at about 400 feet. Still had the better eighth 4.2308/163.41 to Michael's 4.3257/163.53, Bengt too the stripe by 0.0186.

Jimmy Ålund 6.6136/209.96 def. Stefan Ernryd 7.4010/159.04

Humungous holeshot by Jimmy 0.0408 to 0.0408 Stefan had the better sixty 0.9874 to 0.9919 but Jimmy was way ahead at the eighth 4.2668/165.21 to 4.5996/151.55, Stefan shut it off early.

FIA Top Fuel Dragster eliminations round 1

Steve Ashdown 4.2361/283.75 def. Stefan Gunnarsson 4.9379/148.64

National Anthem before the first race, Stefan's motor fired up as the strains of the last note were dying away, excellent timing. Tuners Peter Lantz and Mike Domagala didn't look totally happy about something after Stefan fired up, adjustments made to the idle and the dashboard repeatedly checked, Peter shook his head just before the car pulled forward for the burnout, more to himself than to anyone else I think. Steve's first competitive round of Top Fuel and he was spanked off the line by Stefan 0.1253 to 0.3030. Stefan had the better sixty 0.8605 to 0.8960 but his tyres started to shake about 200 feet out, smoke and he was off the gas by the eighth 3.4673/172.76, possibly lost the blower belt. Steve was visibly reeling Stefan in even before Stefan backed out of it, 3.3826/244.00 at the eighth, car made a move to the left past the eighth but Steve stayed with it. Steve wins his first ever Top Fuel Dragster race.

Liam Jones 4.9963/213.10 def. Urs Erbacher 5.1097/212.90

Man that was a shake- and pedalfest. Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs just away first 0.1317 to 0.1330, Liam had the much better sixty 0.8560 to Urs' 0.9134. Both were shaking past the Tree, Urs backed out of it and then so did Liam. Then it dawned on Urs that Liam was off it so he got back on it, then Liam realised that Urs was coming back and he got back on it, and so on and so forth. Liam to the eighth in 3.9248/208.98 to Urs' 3.9655/169.50. Both drivers pumping the throttles then someone's motor groaned right at the stripe. Liam took it by 0.1121.

Micke Kågered 4.1371/240.12 def. Anita Mäkelä 5.0655/220.00

Micke away first 0.1153 to 0.1397 and the better sixty foot 0.8727 to Anita's 0.9059 with bad shake passing the Tree. Anita off the gas as her tyres hourglassed about 200 feet out. Micke's motor then looked to be eating itself up with yellow flames rather than the nitro orange. Micke to the eighth in 3.2248/259.31 but I think that Anita saw Micke's motor starting to go bad as she got back on the throttle, 3.9688/166.44 at the eighth and on and off the gas a couple of times between there and the stripe. Clean-up called in Micke's lane in the shutdown area and a sweep of the lane between the eighth and the stripe.

Stig Neergaard 7.5570/09.86 bye, Björn Mårtensson broke

A loud bang from Björn's motor on turn-over, hydraulic sort of bang although I hope not for the sake of Björn's bank balance. As I turned round and looked Björn was pulling off his gloves and throwing them away. Stig took the bye, 0.8610 to sixty feet with bad shake, off it at 200 feet, a couple of pumps of the throttle then off it altogether.

Garry Bowe 7.2273/199.77 def. Graham Dance 8.1701/167.91
Graham Balchin 7.2501/196.31 def. Rudi Zorzi 8.2450/137.28
Pete Field 7.7788/181.37 def. Erich Gruber 8.0209/161.31
Richard Hann 7.4405/194.72 def. Daniel Donat Lencses 7.6050/172.42
Rick Stubbins 7.3197/170.46 def. Eddy Smiley 7.9511/164.84
Steve Venables 7.1587/203.86 def. Leif Larsson 7.8536/179.24

Mark Proctor got in touch to compliment SPRC's Bob Day who was first to get to Jemma Venables after her spill yesterday. Bob lay down on the track and spoke to Jemma whilst the medical crew sped to her aid. We'd second that both for Bob's reaction and that of all of the safety and medical crews. "I was delighted to see Jemma back up and look well so soon, after fearing the worst immediately", says Mark. You can read what Jemma had to say on yesterday's pit notes.

11:05

Racing was preceded by a minute's silence for the late Robert Joosten. We then had a hold for drizzle, track crew did the usual great job to sort things out.

FIA Pro Modified eliminations round 1

Although we are the ones who look good when giving out such information we must actually thank MSA British Pro Modified Championship PR Robin Jackson who keeps us immediately up to date with details of Pro Modified Personal Bests. Much appreciated Robin.

Bert Englefield 6.2949/221.25 def. David Vegter 6.3972/225.86

Great 200-foot burnout by David. Bert's burnout to the left of the lane so staged off his tracks more in the groove. Bert visibly away first 0.0941 to 0.1283 and the better sixty 1.0070 to 1.0647. Shake and David's car looked to be lacking grunt towards the eighth 4.2343/179.81, Bert visibly in front 4.0969/178.16 and took the stripe by 0.1365. New PB ET for Bert, well done Bert, Andy and team!

Thomas Stiefel 6.7169/181.40 def. Norbert Kuno 9.7319/124.55

Norbert moved first 0.0847 to 0.2763 but instantly hit shake, 1.3339 to sixty and off the gas by about 150 feet. 1.0445 to sixty for Thomas, tyres blackstriped, a pedal before the eighth 4,2791/168.42 then off the gas, maybe realised that Norbert was not there.

Kev Slyfield 6.3421/223.65 def. Michel Tooren 6.5699/204.27

Great race! Michel away first 0.0966 to 0.1142, Kev had the better sixty 1.0094 to 1.0210. Cars looked side by side at the eighth, Michel there in 4.0960/165.22 feathering the throttle to Kev/s 4.1353 at a muh faster 177.00. A couple of pedals from Michel int he second eighth then off it, Kev took the stripe by 0.2102. PB ET and speed for Kev, well done Kev and team!

Marck Harteveld 6.9785/203.48 def. Andy Robinson 13.7329/88.04

Mark got a visible jump on Eurodagster.com sponsor Andy 0.1736 to 0.2155, Andy hit instant shake and cylinders were spitting on each side, 1.3890 to sixty then called it off about 100 feet out. 1.0292 to sixty fo Marck, drove through shake but then the 'Bird made a hard move right and he had to pedal, 4.5697/158.98 at the eighth, then smoke from the motor, shut it off and put the chutes out before the stripe.

Micke Gullqvist 6.0213/239.95 def. Hussain Al Shammari 9.2687/93.32

Micke spanked Hussain at the Tree 0.2025 to 0.3565, 0.9717 to sixty. Shake for Hussain 1.3093 to sixty, a pedal and back on it. Micke to the eighth 3.9680/186.31 whilst Hussain's Avenger started to move around then made a violent move right and got close to the centre line and he gave it up before the eighth 4.9719/121.73.

Mats Eriksson 6.0499/235.29 def. Roger Moore 6.5796/210.92

Roger away first 0.0491 to 0.0695, Mats was already making it up by sixty 0.9760 to 1.0275. Cars looked side by side towards the eighth but then Mats started visibly pulling away 3.9812/188.85 to Roger's 4.2675/168.29. Flash of flame from Roger's left bank at about 1000 feet. Mats took the stripe by 0.5093.

Johan Lindberg 6.7842/155.75 def. Marcus Hilt 7.3974/199.66

Pedalfest! Marcus got the move on Johan 0.1117 to 0.1652, Johan had the much better sixty 0.9902 to 1.1200, Marcus hit shake and pedalled a couple of times, the Vette moving left and right. Meanwhile the Old 51 was starting to move towards the guardrail and Johan pedalled a couple of times after the eighth 4.1200/184.16 to Marcus' 4.9260/149.17. I think Marcus realised that Johan was struggling as he got back on the throttle and tried to chase Johan down but didn't have enough even though Johan was off it and chutes out early.

Bruno Bader 6.6314/225.89 def. Chris Isaacs 6.6314/225.89

Eurodragster.com sponsor Chris visibly spanked Bruno at the Tree 0.1381 to 0.2304, to sixty in 1.0460 but shake marks clearly visible on the track. 0.9718 to sixty for Bruno, the acceptable level of shake. Looked like Chris pedalled once and the Duster visibly picked up about 300 feet out, squatted down and shot up the track but Bruno was already ahead at the eighth 3.9761/184.04 to Chris' 4.4091/169.68. Bruno in imperious form and had the stripe by 0.4300. New PB speed for Chris, well done Chris, Spencer and team!
