In the other lane Saskia Fensome Jell moved up from #13 to #8. 0.0030 by Joe Holland-Villa next pair good for a move from #13 to #2. Lottie Bradford next to make a move up the ladder, #19 to #14 at 0.0420. Improvement for Billy Ringer next pair but stayed #7 at 0.0192. -0.0039 squeaker for Billy Everitt, in the other lane an improvement for Liam McDonald but stayed in place. 0.0461 for Thaliah Gibb moved her up from #23 to #15 and another 7.9 into the bargain - that's a 7.9 on every single run so far with the new motor. 0.0264 for Bonnie Wallace moved her up from #16 to #8. Luke Mugridge home from school, his first run of the day -0.0766 for #26.

18:40 Martin Hill followed Super Comp Q6 with a storming 5.8404/266.59 in the Fireforce 3 Jet FC. 4.0056/202.37 at the eighth. Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying session 6 Fantasic race between Dave Murdoch and Al Williamson, PB speed for Dave and PB ET for Al, well done guys! New PB for Stu Williams next pair I believe, well done Stu! Consolidated the #2 spot. Improvement for Gary Gooding stayed in #3 but a new PB, well done Gary! Tyres up in smoke at the hit for #1 qualifier Matt Smith in the next pair. Next pair and Martin Smith having problems burning out so Mark Sheridan took the bye, 8.2792/169.80, smoke from the motor again but track checked and all OK. Martin Smith gave it up after another try.

18:25 Super Comp qualifying session 6 Ronald Huis up from #14 to #11 in the second pair, followed up the ladder by Paul Brown #10 to #9. Slightly wayward launch for Mort, the car fishtailed some in the first couple of hundred feet and it sounded as if Mort was feathering the throttle. +0.0087 for Pete Creswell in the other lane, up from #7 to #4 and close to the Eurodragster.com Perfect ET Award in support of NSPCC. Next pair and drama for Paul Hudson in his first run of the day, the Camaro looked to struggle off the start line but then picked up, through the top end at 10.9058/143.50 then a cloud of smoke and the car went right and looked to sideswipe the guardrail quite heavily. The top end safety crews moved instantly and were with Paul in moments. Word from race officials was that Paul is conscious and talking, extra care taken to extract him from the car before taking him to the Medical Centre. On the restart Phil Bennett up from #17 to #14.

16:50 Super Pro ET qualifying session 6 Going into this session +0.0870 would get you #25 spot. Perfect 0.0007 RT for Marius Blackburn in the first pair, well done Marius! Excellent paired burnouts by Rainier van Schelt and Jack Brewster. 0.0014 breakout for Rainier. That pair of burnouts outdone by Billy Gane and Colin Millat, Northamptonshire as I see it disappeared for a few seconds, but Colin was shut off and pushed back on return from the burnout. Not fluid so far as I could see, Colin and the crew looking around the back of the car then Colin drove back to the pits. Next pair and Roy Wilding moved up from #20 to #9 +0.0105 on dial-in. Marc Henney into #1 from #5 +0.0013 on dial-in, 13 ten thousandths from the Eurodragster.com Perfect ET Award in support of NSPCC. Just-bumped former top qualifier Chris Parker was next up, shut it off after the eighth, in the other lane a breakout for Wouter van Leersum. Next pair and a great-looking run for Mark Flavell to the eighth but then the blower relief blew and the bonnet panel flew high into the air. Track checked and all OK save retrieving the panel.

16:30 Pro ET qualifying session 6 Great 0.0015 RT for Eurodragster.com sponsor Nic Williams, nice wheelie too but in a straight line, no dramas. Carla Pittau up from #25 to #14 next pair. Nine pairs in and it was pretty much 50/50 right side/breakouts, that's reflected in not many changes in standings. In the eleventh pair problems for Geoff Cowley off the line, start line crew went to investigate, all OK and Geoff drove up the track.

Super Gas qualifying session 5 Squeaker -0.0047 red for Collin Morrice, in the other lane Stefan Reffelrath jumped through stage, went with it anyway but the car made a serious move to the right when he hit it so backed out of it. Tim Moore awaited the green this time but the car looked to be crabbing in the second hald and Tim shut it off.

School's out, first run of the day for Adam Bentley in at #9 at 0.0374. 0.0200 good for #5 spot for Billy Ringer, was #16 going in to that pair. Saskia Fensome Jell also here from school, in at #12 at 0.0435. First run of the day for Jack Gooding, squeaker red at -0.0042. Kaitlan Deevey up to #5 from #15, in the other lane Dylan Thomas Bradley's car stopped off the line. Not so OK on the run, lost drive and motor zinged about 330 feet out, Stefan put the chute out at half track but made the scrutineering exit. Improvement for Robin Orthodoxou but stayed #5, Belinda Bull lost time to shake off the line.

Super Comp qualifying session 5 Dave Day close to the centre line in the first pair, backed out of it just past the eighth. Next pair and Paul Brown moved up to #9 from #12. Collin Morrice up from #13 to #9 next pair. First run of the day for Jeremy Prince, Reinier just shades the burnouts in the pick-up, 8.6687 breakout.

15:35 Super Pro ET qualifying session 5 Big burnout by Johan Oomen in the second pair but then shut off about 350 feet out. Quad summoned for retrieval. Next pair and Barry Giles looked to put the chute out a touch early whilst in the other lane Craig Wright shut it off about 1000 feet out, pulled to the left of his lane so I guess he felt something amiss... and a call just went out to the PMR crew to go to retrieve Craig from the top end. Great paired burnouts by Reiner van Schelt and Eurodragster.com brother-in-law Tom Atkinson. Next pair and LB3A red light for Peter Lane then shut off early, the two not unconnected I would imagine. Jack Brewster up from #21 to #7 +0.0083 on dial-in, I clearly saw Jack's rear slicks turn two or three times at launch so had they gripped immediately then maybe he would have broken out. Great launch from Mark Flavell, looks like they sorted the clutch. Flav backed out of it past the eighth but that was very promising and I would guess that his stash of headache tablets will remain unmolested after that one.

First competitive outing for Andy Frost with the refettled and still street-legal Red Victor 3. Hazard lights certainly work as Frosty had them on whilst backing up. Great run! 1.1110 to sixty, 4.2938/176.35 to the eighth and audibly reducing throttle in the second eighth but still 6.5307/214.76. That run good for #1 spot, -0.6293 on the AA/PM index. Big burnout for Peter Lane with a violent lurch as he came off it, I am guessing his wrists will have known about that. Up from #26 to #9 so that wil be the burnout style of choice in future I guess. First run of the day for Rene Meierhofer, 6.75 dial-in. in at #6 +0.0155 whilst in the other lane Laura Yurburville went up from #24 to #5 with a very gutsy drive as the Bad Blood dragster was making serious moves left and right. Next pair and Thomas Haas moved up from #28 to #4 +0.0104 on dial-in. Next pair and Roy Wilding was pushed back after the burnout, nothing visibly amiss. Dave Evans in Ed's beloved Impala in at #21 with his first run of the day. Side-by-side breakouts for Wouter van Leersum and John Przybyl. Joe Kellett and Scott Hauser last pair in this session. 11:25 Pro ET qualifying session 2 A lot of dial-ins going to be changed this session I'd imagine after breakouts last session. James Forster up from #27 to #5 first pair and right on a PB I think. Laura Baynton next to make a move up the ladder, #12 to #6. Hesitation, wheelie then two small dumps of fluid for Shaun Hyde next pair. Quick clean-up ensued. Looked like problems for Nigel Green, went to the top of second gear then shut off , pulled to the side of the lane and and idled through. Ethan Lisle up from #8 to #3 next run. Jon Turner up from #28 to #2 next pair. Next up the ladder Rhiannon Bellenie up from #30 to #8. Brian Huxley pushed back after the burnout next pair, Keith Herbert took the bye, up from #28 to #9. 11:05 Lucas Oil Junior Dragster qualifying session 1 Harley Jay Darby now in Stock mode after having a run out in Modified mode teating last weekend, 0.0008 RT earns him the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award but his ET of 12.0183 on a 12.90 index is unfortunately going to be an instant Go Home job. The money is his though. Thaliah Gibb now in JMA and another 7.9 after running three 7.9s in testing yesterday so the 4Gs team quickly had a handle on the new motor. In the other lane Daniel Weir's Junior Stock dragster was weaving about its lane. Having tried the establishment the other evening in the interests of research Your Reporter can recommend Ruaridh Hart's new sponsor, Indian restaurant Le Spice Merchant in Wellingborough. Race officials have confirmed that Harley Jay Darby's run has been DQ'd and that the index-bust was big enough to exclude him from the event. Shannon Kiddell's run also removed, I am guessing speed bust.

10:45 Comp Eliminator qualifying session 1 Great pair of runs for Belinda Bull and Rob Smallworth to open the session, both comfortably under index. Same story for Kev Perkins, in the other lane Robin Orthodoxou sat there for no less than 16.7055 seconds before launching, then hit shake severe enough to put out the chute which took out the eighth-mile timing reflector. As the chute and not the car caught the reflector the run stands.

The usual eventful ride for Richie Webb next pair, the Beetle's big single exhaust spitting flame as the Beetle went left and right. Stu Doignie +0.0098 next pair good for #2 at that point. 8.5706 breakout for Phil Bennett but the crew delighted with that one. Jon Morton into #1 spot +0.0063 on a bye, Pete Creswell held after his burnout. Smoke from Pete's Mustang all the way down the track, tractor brought out for a sled.

10:20 Super Pro ET qualifying session 1 A big Good Morning to Super Pro ET racer Martyn Jones and Crunch, Martyn's truck unfortunately broke down on the way here so we won't be seeing him race this weekend. Crunch is I know tuned in to the webcast, hope you are enjoying it Crunch but we really wish you were here. Great pair of burnouts by Mark Flavell and Jack Brewster. Flav left the Pod a couple of weeks ago with work to do on the clutch having launches all four wheels off more than once, let's see how this one goes... got to about 200 feet before the car started to jump around, Flav calmly feathered the throttle and stayed with it all the way. Barry Giles having dialed in 7.36 ran 7.3399 I suspect is another PB after a string of 7.4s and a 7.3 in testing yesterday. Great run for Chris Parker next pair +0.0022 good for #1 spot and 22 ten thousandths off the Eurodragster.com Perfect ET Award in support of NSPCC. Next pair and frequent Perfect Award winner Marc Henney in at #2 +0.0037. Burnout then pushed back for Peter Lane next pair, not immediately obvious what the problem was. Phil Toppin took the bye but smoke from the motor about 300 feet out, motor note started to drop, Phil shut it off and pulled over to the edge of the lane. Track checked and all OK, hopefully no oil means no damage to Phil's motor. Next up Outlaw Anglia racer Colin Millar with a superb burnout, fogged the right lane then in at #5 +0.0535. Pete Lane back for another go. Nice burnout and breakout in PB territory... I get the idea we are going to get a lot of both PBs and breakouts today... no sooner do I say so than Roy Walker breaks out by 0.1322. Next pair and Scott Hauser in at #2 +0.0022, identical to Chris Parker but Chris did it first, Scott also a squeak off the Eurodragster.com Perfect ET Award in support of NSPCC. Problems for Eurodragster.com sponsor Pete Walters next pair, one of those cases where the engine revs don't match the forward progress. Pete pedalled a couple of times but eventually called it a day. Breakout for Craig Wright next pair. Great paired burnouts by Wouter van Leersum and Billy Gane, Wouter in at #4 at that point. Next pair and finally the return of the PT Bruiser, in the other lane Joe Kellett's first competitive pass in his new dragster. 0.0054 breakout for Joe, Bruiser close to the rail, Paul looked to shut it off towards the stripe and a call was put out for his crew to go to rescue the Bruiser from the top end.

09:50 Pro ET qualifying session 1 Pair of breakouts and we believe PBs by James Forster and Rhiannon Bellenie to start the FIA / FIM Main Event. Neil Hunter +0.051 off the trailer in the second pair for #1, which lasted a couple of pairs until Tony Harter went +0.0199. Next pair and Glenn Pallant went +0.0045 for #1 and close to the Eurodragster.com Perfect ET Award in support of NSPCC which stands at a whopping £125 this weekend. Problems for Dave Crowhurst, launched and then looked like no second gear. Good to see Al Platt back on the track in the other lane. Next pair and Ethan Lisle shut off for a fluid leak. Another welcome return, Carla Pittau in the Heaven & Hell Camaro having made the long trip from Sweden with Rick McCann, into #6 at that point. Rick unfortunately won't be racing this weekend as a cloud of smoke and trail of oil in the shutdown area betrayed a holed piston in Keith Williams' Chevelle. Great run for Bob Molden somewhere near a PB we think, 9.5552 +0.0252 on dial-in and good for #3. Lively run for Shaun Hyde in the other lane, looked like all four wheels off at launch for his pretty Beetle followed by another couple of hops then shut it off.

Currently misty here at Santa Pod with a gentle tailwind but you can see the sun through the mist which will blow away or burn off quickly I'd imagine. Yesterday's Pro Peak Performance Test and Tune Day was most enjoyable with a number of Personal Bests, licences earned, runs close to index for those classes which have them, and more.
