Announcer Colin Theobald entertained the sizeable crowd by interviewing racers during a lengthy rain delay. The Santa Pod track staff did a superb job of drying the track to make it race ready in far-from-favourable conditions. Andy Wheeler was the organiser of the event, which ran like clockwork after racing began.

Junior Drag Bike racer Jasmine Cordelle won the reaction time challenge that took place after rain prevented the final taking place.

Junior Drag Bike racer Blade Dummer was the other finalist and he defeated Jake Charman in round one.

Junior Bike racer Blade Dummer's bike has a new paint scheme for this season from rukuscustoms.co.uk.

Junior Dragster racers Katie Ellis and Skye Collier are pitted together, with Jerry and Sharron Collier overseeing the team with Dave Read and Any 'Fred' Hone helping. Katie said 'I tried the car out for the first time this year at the rwyb last Saturday'. The Colliers are also running Skye who has a new engine and is running Junior Modified, with a set of restrictor plates to keep the car above its 8.90 index. Scott Collier has brought his Top Gas Bike and with a modified crankshaft hopes to run closer to his 9.3s best times to date.

Junior Drag Bike racer Alfie Udall has borrowed the Jade Racing junior drag bike to try, using his own KTM EXC 200cc engine. Alfie is moving up to Supertwin Top Gas next year with a Harley-engined machine being imported from the US, where it ran a 9.1. Dad Brian Udall said 'Now he's graduating from the Juniors, I hope to be back on track myself soon'.

Junior Drag Bike racer Liam Holgate has been racing for four years and his current bike was first out in 2014 with a new Honda 170cc engine this year that has gone 9.3s in the eighth. The distinctive paint (not a wrap) was applied by signwriter Peter Green.

Junior Dragster racer Holley Marshall was racing at the NitrOlympX for the first time in Paige Wheeler's 2014 JMA car. She said 'It's nice to be able to go to other tracks and also to run in heat. I ran against lots of racers from other countries that I had never raced before'. Holley was handing out sweets in support of today's charity Emily's Star.

Collecting for Emily's Star are Rachel Elmer and and Rob Scott-Hyndmarch. Rachel's sister Katie founded the charity in memory of her daughter Emily who suffered from Edward's Syndrome and after being born at a weight of 4.5lb survived 26 days. The family found Edwards' Syndrome is the second most common pre-birth condition next to Down's Syndrome. Emily's Star supports all people that as babies have had life threatening illnesses and funds holidays and days out for the disabled and also produces packs of suitable clothes for underweight infants.

Pro ET racer Rhiannon Bellenie has had a good debut season in her Junior Comp style dragster, with a Hayabusa engine. She said 'I have run a 9.36 quickest ET and my Dad Pete has now built a new exhaust and airbox which will hopefully make it run quicker still'. Rhiannon's engine, from Pete's Super Street Bike, is naturally aspirated, however a turbo is being considered for the next modification.

The Limited Funz team are here with their Wild Bunch slingshot on display (Mark recovering from some broken ribs) and Harley Coulsell's Junior Dragster. Kids were allowed to sit in the dragster which produced a tremendous level of interest. Later, team member Steve Cassisi took the car down track for some familiarisation passes.

RWYB racer Mike Oates is here with his slingshot which he plans to enter into Comp Eliminator next year. He said 'The engine is a SBC 283cu in with Enderle bug catcher injection and Powerglide trans which has gone a best of 8.56/149. The chassis is by Roy Wilding and I have built new front suspension for it after a wheelstand at a recent meeting. I plan to get it tagged and then look forward to racing against the class index'.

Junior Dragster racers Joe and Sam Holland-Villa are here with three cars, Joe's Junior Modified car being up for sale currently.
