19:20 Pro ET eliminations round 2 Rick McCann pushed back for a fluid leak before staging against Dan Williams, water by the look of things. 0.0043 seconds or 9.34 inches in the race between Steve Hudson and Bob Molden, Bob pulled a 0.0037 RT for good measure. Next race between Leigh Morris and Perfect Light Award sponsor Tig Napier was decided by 0.0036 seconds or 9.14 inches. Dave Cherrett almost had Cath and Tig's money away but for a minus sign in front of the 0.0008 RT.

FIM European Super Street Bike Cup qualifying session 4 (left lane first) Drama in the first run as Erich's bike looked to put down fluid which got under the rear tyre, the bike slid over and deposited Erich unceremoniously on the track surface. Erich rolled over a couple of times then slid into the guardrail, when he stopped sliding the first thing he did was to stand up. He was right by the emergency gate so the safety crews were there instantly. The bike carried on a little way down the shutdown area. Erich was taken to the Medical Centre to be checked out. Steve Venables runs Europe's first six-second Super Street Bike pass, 6.950/212.84, well done Ven! The first halves of two new European records. Next pair and Dave Holland backed up his earlier 7.014 and 209.16 for new records, well done Dutch! On the green his bike pretty much idled off the line with the motor struggling, shut off and pulled over at the eighth. Dale's bike sounded as if the wrong gears were engaging at the wrong time, best way to describe the engine note which went up and down randomly with each shift. Nick's motor hesitated a couple of times at the hit but picked up after 330 feet, 5.1313/167.91 at the eighth. Fil to sixty in 1.0103 and the eighth in 4.3015/152.40 but then the motor started to hesitate and spit flame from the exhausts. Great runs for both Bob and Rene. Bob to sixty in 1.0904 and the eighth 4,5779/152.59 heading gently for the centre line but stayed with it. 1.1231 to sixty for Rene, 4.4132/172.21 at the eighth, very close to the centre line at the stripe. Improvements for both, both stayed in place. Fantastic run for Ian! 0.9887 to sixty, 3.8934/193.71 at the eighth, into #1 and the first half of a European speed record, well done Ian! Stuart's last chance to run a six, did his best. 1.0720 at sixty, 4.5706/153.65 at the eighth. Funny Bikes which haven't run a six don't go into the ladder. Qualifying after this session:
17:50 FIM Europe Supertwin qualifying session 4 (left lane first) Petre Ceska broke, Roman Sixta 6.9896/184.23 bye Petr shut off before the burnout. 1.1808 to sixty for Roman, 4.5371/165.48 at the eighth, motor sounded hesitant in the second half but still a six and more to come there I'd say. Final qualifying:

Allan's motor sounded as if it wanted out and he shut it off before the eighth. Improvement for Bish, 1.1667 to sixty and 4,7219/150.08 at the eighth. in the other lane a consistent pass for Len but right leg was flailing before he found the footpeg about 100 feet out. Improvements for both Alex and Eurodragster.com sponsor Martin N, Alex stays in place but Martin moves up. Big improvement for Robert, 1.0882 to sixty and 4.5144/154.63 at the eighth. 1.1185 to sixty for Anders, 1.0682 for Fredde, 4.5391.149.50 to the eighth for Anders then his motor groaned and he shut off. 4.4698/156.18 to the eighth for Fredde and a consolidated #1 spot, the first half of a European speed record into the bargain. 16:25 FIA Top Fuel Dragster qualifying session 4 Stig Neergaard 4.8698/231.67 bye; Patrik Pers 5.6372/142.49 bye; Urs Erbacher 4.1183/285.74, Jari Halinen 6.0881/106.43; Micke Kågered 4.0730/287.54, Anita Mäkelä 7.9873/78.85 Thanks to Colour Commentator Tethys for telling us that Liam Jones and Duncan Micallef are changing motors so we won't see them this session. 0.8590 to sixty for Stig, pedal for shake, more shake and another pedal, 3,8676/201.53 at the eighth, smoke from Stig's motor and something came off the car, looked like a body panel probably dislodged by shake. 0.9001 to sixty for Patrik, shake and a pedal, more shake and another pedal and then smoke and small amount of flame from the motor, to the eighth in 4.0800/159.00 and then a big fire erupted from the motor although it was still running, initial thought was head gasket but the fire continued in the shutdown area and the safety crews chased Patrik down. Quick clean-up in Patrik's lane. On the restart it was the Last Chance Saloon for Jari, Eurodragster.com sponsor Urs safely in the ladder but doubtless looking to move up. Jean to sixty in 1.1173, the Camaro was swaying left and right and then a huge gout of orange flame from each side, suddenly a hard move to the right and the car sideswiped the guardrail at the eighth 4.5616/139.45, then something came off the car. Jean is quite OK. Chief Starter Ian Marshall signalled Norbert's crew to hurry along getting him into stage as Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy was ready and waiting. 0.9952 to sixty for Andy, 1.0841 for Norbert with bad shake, shut it off about 200 feet out. Roger up to #4. Another great run for Thomas, improves still further, and this guy's nominally a rookie? 1.0116 to sixty for Thomas to David's 1.0708, David drove through shake but lost time. Thomas to the eighth in 4.0236/185.78 to David's shake-recovering 4.2645/176.40 and again smoke from David's car, still thinking that it's a rubbing tyre. Some clean-up in Thomas' lane. Only the best Pro Mod pairing I have ever seen to close the session, and off the top of my head maybe the quickest ever Pro Mod pair in Europe but certainly the UK's first ever side-by-side fives in PM. Great match to start with for Karl-Heinz and Len. Len with the better sixty 1.1065 to 1.1161, the better eighth 4.6150/149.06 to 4.6380/150.00, Karl-Heinz' bike was hading left and then the motor started to smoke followed by a complete fog-out. I feared the bike and Karl-Heinz may come out of the smoke separately but all OK. 1.1037 to sixty for Robert, 1.1484 for Alex. Alex' motor sounded to hesitate towards the eighth 4.7633/149.14, Robert with a clear lead by then 4.5688/154.04. 1.0668 to sixty for Fredded to Anders' 1.1169, identical speeds at the eighth 4.5000/154.04 for Fredde to Anders' 4.5423/154.04. Something came off the car past the eighth, nothing substantial by the look of it, maybe a decal. 0.8815 to sixty for Laim, 0.9164 for Patrik. Liam to 330 feet in 2.2744 to Patrik's 2.3391, then a huge ball of flame from Patrik's dragster just before the eighth 3.5092/189.44. Liam meanwhile was storming through the eighth 3.2405/263.99, car started to move left at the thousand and got very close to the guardrail. PB for Liam, well done Liam and team! Brief clean-up in Patrik's lane. 0.8719 to sixty for Jari and 0.8732 for Duncan, shake for Jari and looked from here like a pedal and broken blower belt. Duncan's tyres blackstriped and the tyre tracks show clear hourglassing just before the eighth 3.3893/203.87, off the gas on the eighth and another brief stab of the throttle. Stig to sixty in 0.8968, tyres up in smoke, a pedal and back on it, shake and smoke and got off the pedal. 0.9233 to sixty for Stefan, 2.4030 at 330 feet, 3.4489/242.58 at the eighth and a big fireball right on the eighth. The fire continued through the thousand and most of the way down the shutdown area, safety crews chased Patrik down but were back on station very quickly. Clean-up in Stefan's lane. On the restart a storming match between the Championship contenders. Anita with a visible holeshot 0.1486 to 0.2345 and a wheels-up launch 0.8362 to sixty to Micke's 0.8566. Anita with a clear advantage at the eighth 3.1336/265.43 to Micke's 3.2108/261.71, Micke looked to be on the gas all the way, Anita's car started to make a move left and from here the car's body language tended to imply a broken blower belt. Either way Anita was off the gas and the car got close to the guardrail but she had it covered. Anita and Micke now #1 and #2. Qualifying after this session:

Jan got there first with 0.0008 between them at the stripe. Michael launched wheels-up and then drove through shake, 0.9716 to sixty heading for the centre line but stayed with it and pulled it straight. Magnus to sixty in 0.9852. Michael with the better eighth 4.2648/164.17 to Magnus' 4.2838/163.01. Magnus' crew looked mystified by his run which was one of those which looked quicker than the time which came up. 0.9837 to sixty for Jimmy, 0.9914 for Thomas. Thomas had pretty much permanent shake from the line out to 300 feet and he shut it off at that point. 4.2093/168.41 at the eighth for Jimmy and an improvement to consolidate his #1 spot. Stormer for Bruno! 0.9715 to sixty, superb 3.8883/187.84 at the eighth, a new PB and into #1 spot. Well done Bruno! Shake and pedalfest for Wayne and Freddy. Wayne rolled through stage then went up on the revs a few feet out, shake and off the gas, back on the gas, shake, and the Vette headed for the centre line. Same story for Freddy: shake, off it then back on, the truck headed for the centre line and the cars were relatovely close together for a couple of seconds. Wayne called it a day after the eighth, Freddy kept at it but had lost a lot of time to the shake and pedals. 1.2671 to sixty for Roland, didn't look like shake just lack of grunt. 0.9885 to sixty for Roger driving through shake and not really getting off it even as the Mustang went for the guardrail. Long way round to the eighth for Roger 4.2434/166.42, 4.7614/156.84 for Roland. 1.1309 to sixty for Jean, 1.0558 for Micke who then hit shake, held on to it but then had to pedal as the Camaro moved right. Instant shake for Kev, off the gas and on again, more shake and the right side door came open and he shut off. Nice run for Jonny, candles lit all the way. 1.0064 to sixty, shake marks between about 200 and 300 feet, Jonny drove through the shake, tyres blackstriped all the way from there. 3.7341/211.83 at the eighth. Tyres up in smoke at the hit for Grumpy, shut it off. 1.0661 to sixty for Stefan, 3.8309/207.92 at the eighth, vapour from the motor in the second half and shut it off before the stripe. Timo to sixty in 0.8859 and then hit bad shake, looked from here as if something broke, puff of smoke and off the gas. 11:20 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying session 8 Improvement for Martin Smith but stayed in fourth, in the other lane Jeff Meads got about 100 feet out then his Pop pulled a sizeable wheelie. Jeff put it down and carried on regardless, nice piece of driving. What was that I was saying yesterday about Steve Neimantas and 2 mph extra every time, 207.23 mph this time - the class speed record is 208.17. A clunk, metal bits and fluid on launch from Antony Wilkins' Hillman. New PB for Johnny Smith, well done Johnny!

Super Pro ET eliminations round 1 Congratulations to Dave Evans on his first seven in the Doomsday Impala. A red light by Bob Doyle saved Dave the ignominy of breaking out on his 8.03 dial-in. Next pair and Thomas Haas into the sevens, crew delighted and Thomas took the win on the lesser breakout, congrats to Steve Kellett on the PB. Next pair and Steve Ashdown wins his first round of competition, congratulations Steve! Humungous breakout by Rod Harrison, new PB, well done Rod and team! No webcast from us today; the excellent Trakbak Racing / Track Group Europe free Web TV will be providing the entertainment. For load balancing there are two addresses for the Web TV which you can find on the Event Index. We had a brief but heavy shower at six o'clock this morning but the track crew were soon on the case and the full kit is out on the track as I type. We are due to start at 09:30 with the first round of eliminations in Super Pro ET, the track is drying very quickly so as ever it's just a case of how long the shutdown area needs. Another big Good Morning to the Eurodragsterholics and continued thanks for your support. Hello also to Stephen Moon who got in touch yesterday, great to hear from you Stephen. On behalf of Kirstie, Simon, Julian and Your Reporter a big Thank You to everyone who has E-Mailed or posted nice things about our coverage on Facebook. As you all know Your Reporter harbours a deep-seated dislike of FB but your feedback makes a nice change from ploughing through reams of boo-hoo posts from attention-seekers... you'd think they'd know that there is a place in Geneva which would welcome their custom. Today's Pro sessions are due at 10:30 and 14:30, as we did yesterday we will try to update our reports between pairs but dependent upon the class it is not always possible - Pro Stock Bike and Supertwin in particular are very difficult to keep up with as they go through so quickly. Apologies for the briefly-displayed mistake in the Pro Mod standings after Q2 which was spotted by none other than Micke Gullqvist... one is torn between feeling embarrassed at the error and pleased that the racers are looking to our reports for the results.
