Julian got to the eighth in 4.7708/170.42 and 1000 feet in 5.9976/206.23, and Martin to the eighth in 3.6543/227.70 and the thousand in 4.6064/238.53. We are going to grab dinner and then we'll bring you today's gallery so tune back for that - in the meantime you could check out Simon's latest pit note update vis the Event Index. 20:10 European Nitro Funny Car Series qualifying session 2 John Spuffard 5.7946/169.19 bye; Kevin Kent 8.0490/77.74, Gordon Smith 5.4491/139.06 0.9819 to sixty for Spuff, sounded from the engine note as if the tyres were trying to break loose. A pedal and back on the gas, 4.4846/172.91 at the eighth and looked to be off the gas just about then. Gordon was starting on his way back from his burnout before Kevin pulled forward for his burnout. Kevin returned quickly though and final checks were pretty much at the same time. 0.9295 to sixty for Kevin, 0.9477 for Gordon, Kev was off the gas by 100 feet as Gordon's FC started to move left, tyres started to spin and motor started to zing as the car got out of the groove, Gordon's FC disappeared into a cloud of tyre smoke and he took out the 330 foot reflector. 20:00 FIA Top Fuel Dragster qualifying session 2 Duncan Micallef 9.2139/68.49 bye; Stefan Gunnarsson 4.8687/192.22, Urs Erbacher 10.3889/82.88; Liam Jones 19.8704/27.81, Patrik Pers 9.2633/70.85; Jari Halinen 12.6785/41.32, Micke Kågered 7.4877/96.06; Anita Mäkelä 4.0167/278.51, Stig Neergaard 8.5016/80.10 Duncan's first outing of the event. 0.8688 to sixty with hideous shake, off the gas by the Tree and both chutes deployed, can't say I heard the blower panel go. 0.9466 to sixty for Stefan with shake, 1.1324 for Urs with bad shake. Urs off the gas immediately, Stefan pedalled and got back on it, 3.6885/202.32 at the eighth then shut it off. Clean-up in Stefan's lane at the end of the shutdown area. Instant shake and smoke for Liam, off the gas. 0.9044 to sixty for Patrik then his tyres went up in smoke. His hourglass tyre tracks show the attempts to pedal out of it but he was off the gas by about 250 feet. 0.9150 to sixty for Jari and then shake, sparks from his clutch and off the gas. Storming 0.8570 to sixty for Micke but hit shake and got off the pedal about 150 feet out. Instant shake for Stigm off the gas by sixty 1.1466. Stormer for Anita! 0.8660 to sixty, 3.1941 at a big 262.46 at the eighth, off the gas before the stripe, think I heard the blower panel go. Anita into #1 spot. Qualifying after this session:
19:20 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying session 7 Dave Murdoch into the sevens in the first pair, well done Davey! Another 2 mph for Steve Neimantas, 206.11 mph, well done Steve! Keep that up and the speed record will be in peril next round. Deeper into the sevens for Gary Gooding, another PB, well done Gary! Fantastic side-by-side between Mark Todd and Eurodragster.com sponsor Jon Webster, 7.2924/199.88 for Mark to 7.4647/187.38 for Jon, I am thinking that has to be the quickest ever side by side Street Eliminator run or close to it. Fantastic run for Ronny! 1.1295 to sixty, front end came down gently and nitro flames clearly visible, 4.2581/191.36 to the eighth and shut off just after 1000 feet so more to come there. Ray sounded to have problems selecting gears. 1.1457 to sixty for Karl-Heinz, 4.6168/151.42 at the eighth. 1.1450 to sixty for Len, 1.0691 to Robert - similar to Ellsa whose bike he also tuned. Robert with the much better eighth 4.4876/152.35 to Len's 4.7306/146.11, Robert into #1 at that point. Gert-Jan shut off about 100 feet out. 14:35 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying session 5 Nigel Hale's first run of the event, work commitments prevented his attendance yesterday. Nigel told us earlier that when he went to fill the truck with fuel yesterday he was very pleased with the throttle response. Fantastic run for Martin Smith, a new PB, well done Martin! Next pair and improvements for Andy Bond and Eurodragster.com sponsor Jon Webster, both stayed in place though. Still further into the 200s for Steve Neimantas, 204.39 mph, well done Steve! 0.0063 RT for Mark Todd and deeper into the 7.3s to consolidate his #1 spot. Freddy announced his welcome return to the UK with a 300-foot burnout. Tyres squealed not far off the line, 1.2330 to sixty and a pedal about 300 feet out as the pick-up turned left... when Freddy pedals you know it's bad. 4.9878/152.58 at the eighth. Rick scheduled to run alongside Freddy but his lane was being cleaned so both took byes. Great burnout for Rick, nitrous burp on the green and pushed back. Roger scheduled to run with Kev Slyfield but signalled to take a bye whilst Rick was pushed back. 1.0303 to sixty, flash of flame from the right exhausr just before the eighth 4.2402/171.05 but stayed with it. Smoke from the motor at the finish line. Good run to start with for Kev, 1.0648 to sixty, 4.2415/167.92 at the eighth but a grinding sound from the motor just past the eighth and Kev shut off. Rick back for another go which surprised me since he took a green on the first attempt but hey, an additional Pro Mod run is always a bonus. Great launch, 0.9970 to sixty, car wanted to go for the centre line but Rick wouldn't let it. 4.1383/173.68 at the eighth. Norbert to sixty in 0.9920 to Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy's 1.0103 with shake, Norbert's Avenger made a move left but he stayed with it. Andy with the better eighth 4.1380/176.94 to Norbert's 4.2070/170.12 but then increasing amounts of smoke from Andy's motor and he shut off. Looked like a planned half pass for Roger, 0.9671 to sixty and 4.1975/159.48 at the eighth. Jean to 1.0489 then both exhausts started to spit orange flame and Jean shut off before the eighth. Bruno to sixty in 1.0129 to David's 1.0605, David hit bad shake which catapulted his car left and he punted the 330 foot reflector. Straight run for Bruno, driving through shake, to the eighth in 3.9523/187.99 and into #1 spot. Languid 1.1806 launch by TMFC standards, 4.3806/182.08 at the eighth, the FC was moving about its lane especially in the second half, sounded a bit like problems selecting gear. Leif our first 2015 FIA European Champion in the absence of his closest competitors so congratulations to him. 0.9784 to sixty for Leif, 1.0273 for Jürgen, all eyes on Jürgen then as there was a big puff of smoke from the left bank and the FC moved to the left. Leif to the eighth in 3.8191/197.98 and just as well that he was way out in front as Jürgen's FC crossed lanes and took out the eighth-mile reflectors. Clean-up ensued in Jürgen's lane. Great openers for Jonny. 0.9801 to sixty feet to Stefan's 1.0741, no sign of shake in either lane although Stefan's tyres were blackstriping. Jonny to the eighth in 3.6991/211.82 to Stefan's 4.0208/200.24. Great run for Grumpy! Like he was never away. 0.9874 to sixty, 3.6173/219.23 at the eighth, gentle fishtailing in the second half, into #1. Shakefest for Dennis and Timo. Timo to sixty in 0.9147, clear shake marks on the track past the Tree out to about 200 feet. Dennis to sixty in 0.9202, bad shake also, shut it off before the eighth. 10:30 Super Pro ET qualifying session 6 Tom Atkinson first up the ladder, #20 to #11... our colleague Kirstie is crewing with Tom today, I think I just made what James Burke used to call "A connection". Thomas Haas pushed back for a fluid leak, small splat just past the start line dropped during the burnout. Problem obviously sorted as Thomas was straight back after the lane was cleaned. Wirth the effort as Thomas moved up from #5 to #2 at +0.0026 on dial-in. In the other lane I noticed Steve Ashdown in the PMR dragster made a foot launch in instead of transbrake. Next run and Jack Brewster moved up from #16 to #9. Next pass and a big move up the ladder for Roy Wilding in the S&K Racing dragster, #28 to #11 at +0.0170. Great run for Lee Darby, #30 to #6 at +0.0087, in the other lane Rod Harrison was going great guns but then a graunching sound and shut off - Rod had some damage yesterday so maybe the shut-off was deliberate to check out the repair. Next pair Mark Flavell shut off and pulled over after his burnout. Drama in the next run as Marius Blackburn pulled a big twisting wheelie heading to the right, front thumped down and obviously front end damage as the car lost steering, crossed lanes and tagged the left guardrail. Marius got it back in his lane and then with the safety crews chasing him down calmly drove the car off the track at the first exit. Word quickly came back on the track radio that Marius was just fine. On the restart Scott Hauser up from #8 to #3 at +0.0029, seraphic grin on dad and Eurodragster.com sponsor Geof's face. Next pair and Rick Cooke took over the vacated #8 spot from #26 at +0.0100. Great burnout by Bernard Saz, from here the car disappeared just as it turned left and the tyre marks when the smoke cleared were quite something. At the end of this session +0.0767 buys you #30 spot and +0.1288 gets you into the ladder.

I would not be at all surprised if we were counting the records at the end of today. We are due to start at 09:30 with Sportsman qualifying; there are two Pro qualifying sessions scheduled today although Q2 is in two parts. Pro Q1 for cars and bikes is scheduled to commence at 10:30. Pro Q2 for all car and bike classes except FIA Top Fuel Dragster and the European Nitro Funny Car Series is scheduled for 14:30 and then Q2 for FIA Top Fuel Dragster and the European Nitro Funny Car Series is scheduled for 19:15.
