Sportsman ET will have their Q2 in the morning. Stay tuned and we will have today's pictures for you in a couple of hours. 20:35 Wild Bunch qualifying session 2 Troubled pass for Bob Hawkins to open the session, motor sounded to be misfiring. Good run to start with for Dave Nelson, strong launch but then smoke from the motor and the car got out of the groove, Dave got off the gas and pulled it straight, no heroics, driving job well done. Word is we have oil on the track so we are done for today. Qualifying stands as follows right now, as soon as we know what is to be done with this session and the few remaining classes due a Q2 we will let you know.

Super Street Bike qualifying session 2 A time on the board for Jemma Venables and with a qualified field of thirteen at that point SSB will be a sixteen-bike field. Rick Stubbins up to #4, briefly, as Richard Hann moved up to #2 next pair and pushed him down a spot. Two pairs later a fantastic pass for Steve Venables moved him up from #11 to #1. Next with a fantasic pass Chris Reed, up to #2 from #8 and that one maybe a PB, well done Bois! Big improvement for Pete Field moved him up from #11 to #3 in the last pair.

19:40 Funny Bike qualifying session 2 Bit of a bucking bronco ride for Dave Peters to begin with, had to feather the throttle but got a hold of it in the end. In the other lane Allan Davies' motor cut out at the hit. Improvements for Dave Buttery and Pete Le Gros moved them up to #2 and #6 respectively. Fantastic pass for Gary Jones moved him from #9 to #1, some smoke from the motor in the second half. Great run for Eric Richard, into #2 spot with the front wheel in the air most of the way.

18:40 Super Pro ET qualifying session 2 Another 0.0024 RT, this time from Brian Pateman, latest to take a tilt at the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award. Problems for Marius Blackburn after his burnout, start line crew rushed to his aid and pushed him back. In the other lane a much healthier-sounding engine than earlier for Laura Turburville, #22 to #2 in one easy lesson, slight misfire at the hit but cleared up and on the gas all the way. Last-photographer burnout for Martyn Jones, 150 feet or so, but then shut off on the way back from the burnout. Brief clean-up in Mo's lane, Tereza Kucerikova lost fire in stage but restarted, worth doing so also as she moved up from #20 to #2. Jack Brewster next up the ladder, #10 to #6 a couple of pairs later. Next pair and Simon Gough and The Package moved up from #12 to #1, +0.0089 on dial-in and not far off the Eurodragster.com / Gold RV Perfect ET Award. Roy Wilding up from #11 to #5 next pair.

18:05 Super Comp qualifying session 2 A big Hello to Super Comp racer Paul Watson who has had to sit out this event due to a bad back. Get well soon Paul and hope to see you at the track very soon. Dave Day up from #7 to #2 in the second pair. Great 0.0024 RT by Pete Creswell, very close to taking the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award. In the other lane Paul Marston sounded to have a transmission failure, Paul caught the motor before it zinged probably saving himself some expense. Another nice run for Martin Curbishley good for a move up to #2 from #3.

17:55 Pro ET qualifying session 2 Gino Bernadine up from #17 to #14 first pair. Next pair and John Dalrymple moved up to #4. Keith Herbert up from #3 to #1 three pairs later, in the other lane Lee Huxley's dad and crew Brian made a good attempt at entering the central refuge without actually climbing over the barrier, luckily no injury. Big move up the ladder for Paul Jackson, #23 to #11 next pair. #26 to #4 for Dan Williams, in the other lane rookie Laura Baynton broke out to everyone's delight. Long trail of smoke from Lee Guy's Sierra in the shutdown area, track checked and all OK. Next pair and Liz Malcolm moved up from #17 to #2. Breakout for Dave Bailey into Super Pro ET territory, 8.9988 on his return with a rebuilt motor, as Track Announcer Colin said he'll be delighted and gutted at the same time. 17:25 Fuel Funny Car qualifying session 2 (left lane first) Kevin Kent 12.9667/126.31 (bye); Gordon Smith 5.5388/177.15 bye, John Spuffard shut off Kevin's tyres didn't light on the burnout. Inevitable result in cold conditions was tyres up in smoke at the hit, screaming motor, and a flash of flame from the left bank. Spuff's motor started reluctantly but the FC wasn't going anywhere, shut off as Gordon was returning from his burnout and piling Pelion upon Ossa Spuff's blower relief panel blew as the motor shut off. Gordon took the bye, sounded to roll on to the throttle rather than hammer it. 1.1072 to sixty, a pedal then back on it and then shut off before the eighth 4.2278/169.77. But then shake and shut off as the car made a hard right towards the centre line. 1.0186 to sixty for Bobby, straight run, 4.2263/65.80 at the eighth, on it all the way to #1 spot. Storming 0.9795 to sixty for Rick, 1.7133 with shake for Jean, hard right, a pedal and back on it. Meanwhile Rick was well ahead, 4.5171/162.38 at the eighth, shut it off and chutes out just on the stripe. Nice race between Bert and Eurodragster.com sponsor Chris. Looked like a planned early shut-off, crew very happy, 1.0913 to sixty and off the gas at about 300 feet. Screaming burnout for Rene. 1.1435 to sixty with tyre shaking, a feather of the throttle, back on the gas but then shut off as the bike headed for the centre line. Small bang and a flash of flame from the motor at the eighth. Qualifying after this session:
16:40 Jet Car Shootout Martin Hill 6.1446/189.77 bye Julian Webb with problems starting so Martin took a left lane bye, rolled the beams and shut off early. 16:35 The Wild Bunch qualifying session 1 Big breakout for Dave Nelson but kicked his PB into next week, well done Dave! 16:25 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying session 1 First SE outings for Nigel and Nick Hale, both gave good accounts of themselves as did fellow SE newbie Al McSweeney with a superb nine-second pass. First look at Mats Andersson's new Volvo, couldn't hear a lot though, possibly even more quiet on idle than the Isaacs and Tramm Pro Mod.

15:45 Funny Bike qualifying session 1 Dale Leeks shut off after staging, in the other lane Nick Daniels took the bye and something came off the bike about 300 feet out. Smoke from Nick's motor in the shutdown area probably a coincidence, track checked and all OK. Rough ride for Stu Crane after Phil Crossley shut off on the line, misfiring engine and then a vicious front wheel wobble. Stu shut it off and rolled to a halt about 1000 feet out.

Great checkout pass for Nick, 0.9999 to sixty, straight as you like, 4.0518/180.61 at the eighth and shut off. 14:40 Jet Funny Car session 1 Gerd Habermann shut off, Martin Hill 5.7221/268.35 bye Originally scheduled for an eighth-mile side-by-side but Gerd shut off so it was changed to a quarter. Martin took the bye and ran the quickest ever Jet FC pass in Europe, well done Martin! 1.0762 to sixty, 3.9325 at a big 209.80 at the eighth. 14:25 Super Street qualifying session 1 Great opener for Karen Stevens, +0.009 off the Eurodragster.com / Gold RV Perfect ET Award. 14:10 Super Comp qualifying session 1 Our first look at Paul Brown's shorty dragster, the effect exaggerated alongside Paul Marston's dragster. Big breakout for Paul even taking the long way round and shutting it off early as the dragster got out of shape in the second half. The usual lively launch and pass by Richie Webb, Paul Letchford into the 8.9s in the other lane. Pete Creswell ran in the left lane, can't remember the last time I saw that. In the right lane a fantastic 0.0025 RT by Stu Doignie, close to taking the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award. Next pair and Ronald Huis was shut off for a fluid leak after his burnout, Martin Curbishley took the bye into #2 spot at that point. Lots of smoke from Jon Morton's Camaro next run, no concern from the track crew so all OK hopefully. Dave Day shut it off at about 300 feet after the roadster started to drift towards the centre line. Hge breakout for Thomas Margesson in Andy Williams' rail, the crew feigned concern before cracking up laughing. Neil Hunter's spun up at the hit. Same story for Collin Morrice in the Camaro, off the gas as the car made a move.

13:55 Jet Dragster session 1 (left lane first) Julian Webb shut off (bye); Martin Hill shut off (bye) Julian started his flame show and then shut off and was pushed back. Martin Hill's motor didn't want to light, a couple of goes and then pushed back. 13:50 Fuel Funny Car qualifying session 1 (left lane first) Kevin Kent 15.3150/43.59, Gordon Smith 13.8557/68.49; John Spuffard 5.7356/134.56 bye Gordon has announced that this is likely to be his last season in Fuel FC, that's a real pity. Nice new paint on the Shockwave FC. Nicely-controlled burnouts by both Kevin and Gordon, what would the track hold? Not a lot, instant tyre spin and smoke for both. 1.1070 to sixty for Kevin and 1.8160 for Gordon, both off the gas. Kevin stopped on the track just after the quarter mile. Great to see Spuff, Bob Jarrett and the team back on track after a long absence. One hundred-foot burnout and then a great pass for these conditions, 0.9546 to sixty, shake and then tyres spinning about 100 feet out, a pedal then back on it, the car turned hard right, off the gas at the eighth 4.1077/155.11. Qualifying after this session:
13:35 Top Fuel Dragster (left lane first) Birgitte Bremnes 15.2915/62.70 bye (observed run); Liam Jones bye 17.0194/46.40 (observed run); Jari Halinen 6.2583/98.55 bye; Birgitte's first licence pass on Thursday was lost to tyre smoke at the hit. Same outcome this time, the car moved about a foot then the tyres went up in smoke and the motor screamed for mercy. 1.9055 to sixty tells the tale. Liam's third run scheduled for a full pass after a very competent 4.8-second half pass on Thursday. Two attempts to start the motor, not the warmest day here which doesn't help Fuel motors and the track surface is cold also. Nicely controlled burnout but on the launch the same result as Birgitte, tyres up in smoke at the hit, 1.8404 to sixty feet. Great burnout by Jari and then great launch, 0.8733 to sixty, tyres shaking from 100 feet then tyres up in smoke about 250 feet out, off the gas by 300 feet. 13:25 MSA Pro Modified qualifying session 1 (left lane first) Jean Dulamon 17.7266/43.93 bye; Roger Moore 7.0519/149.56 bye, Kev Slyfield shut off; Bobby Wallace no time, Wayne Nicholson no time DQ Chris Isaacs 8.1441/175.08, Bert Englefield 7.7654/206.10; Rick Garrett 9.1586/104.08, Andy Robinson 6.7649/161.94 Jean's first run with his humungous 872 ci motor. Strong burnout then sounded like a misfire on launch, 1.1529 to sixty, the car turned to the right with exhausts spitting flame and Jean got off the gas by about 100 feet. Kev shut it off on the way back from the burnout and was towed back to the pits. 1.0562 to sixty for Roger, 4.2645/171.07 at the eighth, shut it off just after the eighth, very nice-looking run. Bobby here on the back of strong test runs at the Fast Show, Wayne's first run of the season so we were expecting an early shut-off. Misfire and motor spitting flames for Bobby, tyres up in smoke, got off the gas. 1.0133 to sixty for Wayne, a slight drift to the left then the 'Vette turned hard right, Wayne pulled it back left - it was a great save to keep it off the right guardrail - and you could see that Wayne was hard on the brakes but the car was determinedly headed for the left lane and hit the left guardrail at a 45-degree angle at about 1000 feet. Bobby Wallace was only about 400 feet out and rolling along relatively slowly by that point so was well out of the way and stopped clear. Safety crews moved instantly as usual, excellent response. Wayne got himself out of the car and is just fine. On the restart great burnouts by Eurodragster.com sponsor Chris and Bert. Looked like pedals for shake from both, 1.1598 to sixty for Chris and 1.3244 for Bert with more audible pedalling. 5.2929/136.86 to the eighth for Chris and looked to be back on the throttle some, 5.3170/152.13 for Bert having pedalled again just before half track. Great runs to begin with for Rick and Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy, 0.9704 to sixty for Rick and 1.0151 for Andy, Rick's Willys headed towards the guardrail and he was off the gas before half track 5.1049/109.91. 4.1880/177.49 to the eighth for Andy, sounded like a feather of the throttle at half track and then off the gas. 12:00 ACU Top Fuel Bike qualifying session 1 (left lane first) Rene van den Berg 12.3233/63.128 bye, Steve Woollatt shut off; Nick Milburn 8.7105/156.33 bye Steve didn't make the bleach box, shut off and went back to the pits. Rene's burnout well to the left of his lane and staged in the left tracks of the preceding cars. 1.1672 to sixty, feather of the throttle, then off the gas about 300 feet out. Wheels up launch for Nick, 1.1797 to sixty, feather of the throttle as the bike headed for the centre line, 5.6049/119.96 at the eighth rolling off the throttle, smoke from one pipe in the second half as he got off the gas. 11:50 Super Pro ET qualifying session 1 A big Thank You to Babs and Steve Saunders for chocolates and Haribo. First pair and sounded like a bad misfire on Laura Turburville's motor in the burnout but she took the run, off the gas about 330 feet out with the motor still sounding unwell. Towed off the track. Looked like a planned early shut off for Rod Harrison in the dragster now sporting colours of new sponsor NUA Entertainment. Could be academic as one of Rod's crew touched the car when it was in full stage which is nominally a DQ. Great 0.0045 RT by Joe Kellett on his first competitive pass in Super Pro ET, first to take a tilt at the £50 Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect ET Award. Breakouts for Joe and for John Atkinson in the other lane. Brad Jackson shut off around half track, sounded from here like transmission problem. Next pair and Marius Blackburn got out of shape off thr line, shut it off pretty quickly. Next pair and Jayne Kay's motor stopped just ahead of the bleach box, the very smart altered pushed back. Next pair and great to see Conrad Stanley back on track, this time in Liam Jones' rail as Liam has other fish to fry. Tereza Kucerikova in the other lane for Gerd Habermann Racing, welcome to Teresa also also. Foot launch and a great pass for Conrad. Teresa shut it off before half track. Change of cars for Chris Parker, now in the dragster previously driven by Dave Catton who is overseeing operations. Chris off the gas in the second half, big cloud of smoke from Rick Cooke's motor in the other lane. Track checked and all OK. Eurodragster.com sponsor Pete Walters off the gas and chute out at about 1000 feet with a puff of smoke from his motor, still managed 8.096 on an 8.10 dial-in. Steve Wells in Super Pro, I must have a count up of how many different classes I have seen the Pop pick-up contesting. Next pair and Dave Russell shut off after the burnout. Simon Gough took the bye, good to see Jon Giles out there on the line with Simon, good to see that Jon's year out doesn't mean total absence from the track. Also good to see Martyn Jones' Crew Chief Crunch here after breaking a foot last week, Crunch's foot is in a plastic support and he's limping around in a sprightly manner. Next pair and a 200 foot or so squirt for Mark Adams, planned by the look of it. Dave Russell and Jayne Kay back to close the session. Both close to the centre line past the Tree, both shut it off about 200 feet out.

11:20 Pro ET qualifying session 1 Many thanks to Carla Pittau and Rick McCann for dinner and hospitality last night. Interesting first pair with Mark Bailey on 9.00, the quickest possible Pro ET dial-in, and James Forster on 11.99 the limit at the other end of the bracket. Simon Innes off the throttle a few feet out, a flash of flame from the right side exhaust. Stopped about 100 feet out and pushed back. Launch by Lee Guy after problems in testing, all looked good. Eurodragster.com sponsor Nic Williams back on track with a replacement transmission after blowing the incumbent to pieces in the burnout in testing on Thursday. Eurodragster.com sponsor Steve Hudson took the long way round off the start line, left drift and close to the Tree, no hint of a pedal. Hesitation off the line from Geoff Cowley's big Nova, got it sorted and back on it. In the other lane fluid from the rear end of Sean Law's dragster, out of shape but stayed with it then stopped in the shutdown area, safety crews went to his aid. Returned to station very quickly so all OK hopefully. Paul Jackson's Camaro pushed back before getting to the bleach box.

Yesterday's only qualifying, three pairs of Lucas Oil Junior Dragster, has been annulled so we will be starting from scratch today. I would guess that we will go with today's original provisional running order so we will be starting at 09:30 with Lucas Oil Junior Dragster. Pro sessions are due at 11:30 and 16:00 with an additional Jet session at 14:30. Don't forget that you can tune in to Nitro FM either via the Event Index page or at www.eurodragster.com/nitrofm.
