Super Pro ET qualifying session 3 Tyres up in smoke at the hit for Amanda Cox, off the gas and stopped about 350 feet out. Thomas Haas in a huge move from #31 to #2, new PB as well, nice one Thomas! Two pairs later Dave Russell took over #2 spot from #15 +0.0072 on dial-in, latest tilt at the Eurodragster.com / Gold RV Perfect ET Award. Next pair in stage but were shut off for sprinkles of rain. 15:55 Pro ET qualifying session 3 Bad news from the pit of Eurodragster.com Perfect Light Award sponsor Bad Habit Racing, Cath Napier tells us that "Tig's ring is broken" and that they are out from the weekend. Cath asked us to apologise to everyone for holding up the racing. One pair and we were put on hold again for sprinkles of rain. First pair after the restart and Keith Herbert took over #1 spot +0.0017 off perfect and the Eurodragster.com / Gold RV Perfect ET Award. Next pair and Carla Pittau took over #2 spot from husband Rick McCann, 0.0068 on dial-in. Rick stayed #3 with his subsequent pass but was moved down to #4 next pair by Mike Lacey who took second from #18. 0.0066 RT by Bob Molden, in the other lane Jon Turner moved up from #18 to #9.

15:00 Lucas Oil Junior Dragster qualifying session 2 Harley Coulsell first to make a big move, up from #22 to #12 in the fifth pair. Bonnie Wallace next up the ladder, up from #15 to #7 two pairs later. Next pair and Billy Everitt and Annie Wallace in stage and were then signalled to shut off for rain at the top end. Thomas Cook-Abbott and Saskia Fensome Jess first up on the restart, Saskia up from #10 to #7. Roman Sixta closed the session moving up from #24 to #11.

14:00 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying session 2 Tyre spin and the sound of something breaking for Steve Pateman on his return, stopped a few feet out and was pushed back. In the other lane Alex McIntosh pulled the front wheels up and shut off on landing, idled along the track.

13:40 Super Pro ET qualifying session 2 Amanda Cox up from #33 to #25 in the third pair, relatively gentle pass still running in the motor I think, plenty left in there. Simon Gough in a huge move up from #22 to top spor, +0.0029 on dial-in, closest so far to the Eurodragster.com / Gold RV Perfect ET Award. Nice 0.0022 RT by Phil Toppin next pair, in the other lane looked like a PB of 8.1084 for Thomas Haas, well done Thomas! Next pair and Paul Marston made a big move, #37 to #15, in the other lane Dave Russell moved up from #19 to #11. Next pair and Dave Nelson stopped on track after his burnout, pushed out of the way whilst Paul Przybyl took a bye. Big move for Marc Henney next pair, up from #12 to #3. One pair that lasted, Billy Gane up from #20 to #3 with the very next run. Whatever ailed the Giles and Hartley car last round is fixed, in at #20. 0.092 separated the top nineteen at that point. Quick hold for track grooming and then the last few pairs. Scott Hauser up from #14 to #2 two pairs after the restart. Laura Turburville up from #40 to #24 next pair then the pretty slingshot looked to get on a serious bounce in the shutdown area, Laura had it covered though. Martyn Jones closed the session in his quasi Top Methanol Dragster, up from #30 to #23.

12:45 Pro ET qualifying session 2 Looks like our Perfect Light Award sponsor Tig napier could be in need of the money himself as there was an awful graunching noise from the big Dodge, Tig pulled over about 400 feet out and the car had to be dollied back to the start line. Big move for Tim Stanbury next pair, up from #13 to #6. Keith Herbert up from #5 to #3 two pairs after that. That lasted one pair as Lee Huxley moved up to #3 from #5. Breakout for Rick McCann, 9.947 on a 10.05 dial. Bob Molden up from #17 to #6 next pair. Last pair Glenn Pallant moved up from #14 to #5 and a 0.0006 RT won him the Eurodragster.com / Bad Habit Racing Perfect Light Award of £75, well done Glenn!

This includes taking vehicles down to scrutineering which should be towed and not driven. As one racer has already discovered, action will be taken against anyone breaching the rules. 11:05 A big Hello to Dezsoe Krivan who is tuned in from the Recreation Centre in Basel for Drag Racing Therapy, and to Andy Marrs who tells us that he is tuned in from a hospital bed (don't worry folks, Marrs is OK). Hope you are enjoying the coverage guys and hope you are both doing well. Super Pro ET qualifying session 1 Big thanks to Babs and Steve Saunders who brought us a large tin of sweets to keep us going through the weekend. OK, through today. OK, through this morning. First look at Jayne Kay's altered, contender for Best Appearing Car I'd say. Shut off for timing system reboot first time, second time a somewhat wayward burnout headed for the toes of start line crew Dave Warren. Liam Jones shut off on the way back from the burnout, similar story for Barry Giles. Mark Flavell's new FC body another Best Appearing Car contender and the crew's new shirts look great also. Car got a bad bounce on at the launch, big puff of smoke from the motor at half track and then again in ths shutdown area - looked like fire bottles from here and Flav didn't hang about getting himself out of the car. Safety crews instantly on the way to Flav's aid.

07:45 Good morning and welcome to our coverage of FIA / FIM European Championships Round 1 brought to you in association with Alamo Rent-A-Car. It's a nice morning here at Santa Pod, sun and cloud and a nice change from yesterday when we had rain, hail, and four separate thunderstorms. It was that bad that we started collecting two of each animal and had got as far as the unicorns but the lions ate them. It was quite jolly being in an elevated steel structure whilst the lightning was flying around. After rain late last night the track crew are out drying the track, from where I am sitting it looks to be drying quite quickly. A particular Good Morning to our US Correspondents Ed O'Connell and Kathy Hileman in Rye, NH, hope all is OK with you Ed. A big Hello also to the Eurodragsterholics and to everyone who is on their day job today. We'll do our best to bring you all the news as quickly as possible but don't get yourselves into trouble folks. We were pleased to hear that possibly our Event Coverage's biggest fan, Ivar Kolberg from Norway, will be attending the race - look forward to seeing you Ivar.
