Chris Baylis next to make a move, up from #10 to #2 in the third pair whilst in the other lane Nick Edwards was pushed back. Another PB and #1 spot for Mario Thau and more to come there since he rolled the beams for a few feet before hitting the throttle. Nick Edwards back for another go and a huge wheelie, right up on the exhaust.

19:35 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying round 3 Alex McIntosh up from #2 to #1 in the first pair. Next pair and a great wheelie from Steve Pateman except that he was about 100 feet out and travelling at quite high speed when it happened! Great throttle control from Steve to bring the Calibra down and up to #3 spot. Stu Williams in the other lane up to #2. Another PB for Al Williamson, well done Al! 18:40 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying round 2 Improvement for Eurodragster.com sponsor Jon Webster with a screaming launch, a pedal as the Comet got close to the wall so more to come there. Sounded like a misfire for Steve Pateman whilst in the other lane Al Williamson hit problems and pulled over at the eighth. Improvement for Andy Bond to close the session but stayed in place.

Next pair and a double breakout from Steve Cherrett and John Przybyl whose Mustang is a treat to look at. 0.0081 breakout for Craig Wright, that was a close one. 8.1273/167.86 for Brian Pateman on a 12.00 dial-in! A PB though so far as we know so well done Brian!

18:25 Outlaw Anglia qualifying round 2 Improvement for Cliff Griffin in the first pair but stayed #2 at that point. Flash of flame from Paul Hensher's scoop, start line safety crew rushed to his aid with the CO2. Similar story to Cliff for Mark Bracking, big improvement but stayed #8. Rob Stone improved in the next pair, good for a move up from #7 to #5. Next run and the usual Fagerströmesque backing-up speed from Phil Middleton. We need to get a speed gun on that guy. Improvement but stayed #7. Half pass for Pete Rollinson, looked good from here.

Dave Lea (14.00) 14.1627/96.71 def. Mario Thau (9.08) 9.0598/160.15 VW Sportsman win 8-6. Martin Hill followed the Shootout with a 6.0643/266.62 in the Fireforce 3 Jet FC. Next up was Jason Phelps with a checkout pass in the TeamRock.com Fuel FC. A planned 300 foot pass. 1.2260 to sixty, 2.9583 to 330 feet, off the throttle before the eighth 4.3837/160.12 and through the stripe at 7.6142/126.19.
