We have been called for the day as the rain is just not going away. Given the appalling conditions we couldn't expect Simon and Julian to venture out so we have no pictures and no pit notes today. The forecast for the next few days is a lot better. Tune back tomorrow and we'll bring you all the news from day two.

Nitro FM will be broadcasting until 22:00 and you can tune in to the audio-only link via the Event Index page. The webcam replay is liable to be stopped without notice.

Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod Raceway for our coverage of the FIA Main Event brought to you in association with Alamo Rent-A-Car.

A slight change in arrangements for the Webster Race Engineering / Nimbus Motorsport webcam this weekend: should there be any significant downtime then, shamelessly stealing an idea from our buddies at Bangshift.com we will show replays. If you want to stay live then you can keep in touch via the Nitro FM audio-only link on the Event Index. Obviously we will switch the camera back on in good time when the track is getting close to active again. Thanks to M@ikel and our buddies at Doyousee.me for streaming services.

We had some rain overnight but the track crew have been working hard since early this morning and right now the strip is dry and the shutdown area is not far off. Today is Sportman qualifying day with five complete cycles planned.
