Brian Payne retained his Championship by taking the green in his bye as Stu Williams did not show. Congratulations to 2012 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator Champion Brian Payne. Next pair and Eurodragster.com sponsor Jon Webster won Drive of the Weekend as the Comet got out of shape at the eighth, we saw the right side of the car as it crossed lanes but Jon held on to it and got it back into his own lane. Mats Andersson in the other lane was well in front so no problems on that front. One of Ian Hook's crew drove the FB Racing '34 Ford down the old fire-up road as a farewell as Fatty is retiring from racing. Fatty and his guys will be much missed.

Overcast and a little chilly here at Santa Pod this morning, there is also a cold tailwind. It's the final day of competition for car classes. Simon is sat next to me like a coiled spring waiting to give us real-time updates on the National Championships. One piece of news is that Ian King is confirmed as having done the double, having won the 2012 ACU UK Top Fuel Bike Championship to add to his UEM Top Fuel Bike Championship. Congratulations to Ian. Top Fuel Bike will not be running in competition today as there are less than the minimum number of bikes entered. Stay tuned and as soon as the wheels start to turn we'll bring you the news.
