Nick Milburn followed with another licencing pass on his Top Fuel Bike. Nice launch, 1.3319 to sixty, but then headed for the guardrail again and shut it off. 10.4932/77.91 at the stripe. We're now into another Straightliners session. 13:55 Super Street Bike eliminations round 2 Shock in the first pair as Championship leader Steve Venables went out to what we think is a PB from Thomas Granica, well done Thomas! Thomas gets a bye into the final. Graham Balchin, right on Ven's tail in the Championship, gifted a valuable round win as Pete Field did not show. Looking at the spreadsheet which Simon kindly supplied us, Graham has to win the event to take the title.

13:50 Funny Bike eliminations round 1 Championship implications in the first pair, leader Dave Peters v Maarten Zijlstra who was a mere thirty points behind Dave after qualifying. Dave's bike banged off the line and there was a small fire, safety crew jumped to Dave's help. With such a small points difference before the race this one is pretty clear-cut, since Maarten just won 100 points whilst Gary Jones has taken Low ET points from Dave. So, subject to confirmation, congratulations to Maarten Zijlstra on the 2012 ACU UK Funny Bike Championship.

12:05 Nick Milburn followed Super Street Bike with a licencing pass on his Top Fuel Bike. Motor took three attempts to start but then a great burnout followed by tyre up in smoke at ths hit, blackstriped to 250 feet or so heading for the guardrail then shut off, 16.9267/45.06. We now have a Straightliners session, stay tuned. 12:00 Super Street Bike eliminations round 1 Smoke from Pete Field's motor in the shutdown area. Top end crew reported the bike covered in oil, track crew went to look and found oil in the shutdown area. Clean-up ensued. Nice run for Mark Wells , maybe a PB judging by his crew's reaction. The race between Dave Holland and Bernard Dorgan did not take place since Dutch found a huge hole in his motor after yesterday afternoon's qualifying pass; thanks to photo-journalist Steve Moxley for letting us know that Bernard did a head gasket.

The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam will be broadcasting video and audio as long as the track is open. As Simon is not here to do the sums for us in real time we hope you will forgive us if we are cautious about nominating Champions during the day today unless they are obvious; Simon, who won't have web access until this evening, has promised to get in touch as soon as he can to confirm who has won what.
