You have to look forward to the day when Syd and Nick Good go side-by-side. 11:55 Pro ET eliminations round 2 0.0001 or 0.23 inches in the race between Dan Page and Dave Bailey, that is pretty much what Pro ET is about. Some impressive runs against dial-in in this round with Nic Williams (0.006), Steve Hudson (0.008) and Rick McCann (0.008) all with double zeroes to their names.

10:20 Super Street Bike eliminations round 1 Dave Smith, Mick Templeman and Pete Field all out with engine damage. Wild ride for Chris Reed on his bye, the bike tried to throw him off at every gear change with one particularly scary looking wobble and legs flailing at 1000 feet but Bois is Super Street Bike's answer to Freddy Fagerström and takes a lot of persuading to get off the throttle so he stayed with it and ran a seven despite all of that. Great riding job! Steve Mead close to a PB or on a PB I think, well done Steve!

9:50 Pro ET eliminations round 1 Puff of smoke from Tig Napier's Dodge about 1100 feet out and the terminal speed down, hopefully nothing serious. Carla Pittau staged for points as the Heaven and Hell Camaro suffered a small amount of damage coming down from yesterday's wheelie - would have been a lot worse had Carla not kept her head and put it down so gently. Big cloud of smoke from Paul Marston's Monza from about 900 feet - it's not unusual for the Monza to smoke at the stripe but not that early. Finely-judged run, though, +0.002 on dial-in. Track checked and all OK, hopefully the car is OK too. Another Perfect Light from Rick Denny, who took the Eurodragster.com/Cotsweld Race Cars Perfect Light Award yesterday. That, folks, is one of the reasons why that guy has been a National Champion before now. Well done again Rick! Keith Herbert into the nines, breakout but his crew were ecstatic so I guess they're not worried, well done Keith!

The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line and broadcasting live video and commentary/Nitro FM audio stream. Right now it's quite misty here at Santa Pod, but this is going to get burned off as soon as the sun rises a bit more and we're in for a glorious day. Your reporter has quite often thought of a new feature for the race reports entitled "First racer to check the track" since we are usually here to see them; today the award for dedication goes to Pro Modified racer and Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham Ellis who right now is in the 1000 foot speed trap having given the surface a detailed look over from the start line onwards. We must say the traditional Raceday Hello to Eurodragster.com US Correspondents Ed O'Connell and Kathy Hileman who are back in Rye, NH after their European Tour. We were very pleased to hear from Ed overnight; one gets the idea that he would rather be here - especially the bit at the end of the day when Eurodragster.com Team Nutritionist Syd McDonald kindly cooked your coverage team some fine rump steaks, thanks Syd - but he is enjoying the coverage and is ready for more today.
