That's all for today, tune back in the morning and we'll have all the news from the last few qualifiers and then eliminations. 19:45 Junior Dragster qualifying after session 4 Big move for Billy Everitt in the first pair, up from #14 to #6. Two pairs later and Laura Turburville moved up from #5 to #3 only for her motor to zing just before the eighth, belt I guess. Laura pulled over to the side of the lane like a true professional. Two pairs later Jacob Kopasz took over #1 with a 0.001, it had to go to the fourth digit to decide between Jacob and Rhiannon Bellenie and even then there was only 0.0001 in it! Paige Wheeler moved up from #15 to #7 next pair; Paige has former UK national Junior Dragster Champion Anna Stanley with her this weekend and you couldn't have many better mentors.

Harry Gibson closed the day with an 8.5284/78.42 in the SPR Junior Funny Car. That's the end of the on-track action for today but we are far from finished here in the Eurodragster.com office as Simon is out getting more pit notes and we have a photo gallery to post so tune back in a couple of hours for that. The webcam will continue to broadcast for a while with the Nitro FM stream but will eventually be stopped without warning. 9.50 Bike qualifying after session 4 Paul Furlong of Eurodragster.com sponsor Furlong Tyres took over the lead in the penultimate pair of the session after Jemma Venables had been #1 all day. Improvement for Jake Mechaell in the last pair but stayed in #5.

19:10 Super Street Bike qualifying after session 4 Improvement for Richard Hann first pair but stayed in place on the ladder. Next pair and a big improvement for Thomas Granica after various niggles in previous sessions, up from #13 to #8. Another 7.4 for Ven with a rapid 1.282 sixty foot time but not quite enough to take the lead back from Dave Holland. 1.285 sixty for Steve Mead but didn't keep up that pace further down, stayed in place. Another 7.4 from Dutch, in the other lane Garry Bowe took quickest sixty of the day at 1.276 but shut it off early as the bike headed for the guardrail.

19:00 Martin Hill followed Pro Modified with a 6.1046/265.04 in the Fireforce 3 Jet FC. Apologies for the break in webcam service: as you may have heard on the commentary stream, or indeed heard anyway given the volume, we had a guest up here in Race Control for Martin's run and she managed to lean on the webcam PC's off button whilst holding the PC down against the afterburner onslaught. She meant well and her apology was quite innovative so we forgave her. The plan now is to run Super Street Bike, 9.50 Bike, 8.50 Bike and Lucas Oil Junior Dragster and then to run the remaining few classes first thing tomorrow morning. 18:55 MSA Pro Modified qualifying session 3 (left lane first) Steve Hall 8.7448/169.16 bye; Graham Ellis 9.0040/147.61 bye; Andy Wright 7.8317/135.23, Mick Payne 7.6820/177.81; Nick Davies 7.9180/129.45, Wayne Nicholson 6.7407/210.80 Another observed run for Steve, either his tyres are made of raspberries or he has scent in his methanol, very nice smell it is too. Lots of smoke from the headers on that run, 1.366 to sixty and 5.794/130.69 at the eighth. Tyres up in smoke and screaming motor again for Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham although having said that the sixty foot time was still 1.097 even with the tyres spinning which promises much. Graham was no and off the throttle most of the way down but eventually got off it. Andy next up, the problem with the last run was a broken cable - that information as well as PBs and other info is courtesy of the MSA Pro Mod Chamionship PR Robin Jackson who is a mine of useful information so thanks to him. Great run for Andy to start with, 1.112 to sixty and 4.587/146.64 at the eighth but off the throttle and then when he got back on the gas the Coupe started to move around. A very nice 1.062 to sixty for Mick, 4.909/139.52 at the eighth and then a bit harder in the second half. Bit of a burndown between Nick and Wayne. 1.039 to sixty for Wayne, 4.388/163.58 to the eighth, another nice run. 1.107 to sixty for Nick, 4.588/142.40 at the eighth, the 'Bird was going great guns then made a move left and right and Nick pedalled, shut it off as the car moved around more in the second half. Again courtesy of Robin, Roger and Dave Moore did not make this session as they were attending to some motor damage but the Viper will be back on track tomorrow. Qualifying after this session:
18:40 Super Modified qualifying after session 4 Nigel Payne up into #1 spot in the first pair, identical ET to Andy Hone all the way to the fourth decimal place so it had to go to the fifth decimal!

18:25 Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying after session 4 The class brought forward in the running order as the Cruise departs one hour after the last pair cross the line. Second pair and Richard Billings with new transmission back into the nines and up one place in the ladder. Another early shut-off from Brian Payne, pretty obviously wanted to retain #2 spot for his own nefarious purposes.

18:20 Super Pro ET qualifying after session 4 0.998 to sixty feet for Simon Rowland in Nick Good's dragster (see Simon's pit notes) and that was with a slight roll of the beams. No six this time as Simon was off the throttle about 300 feet out. Would Bob Doyle try to outdo his friend Carla on the wheelie front? Thankfully the answer was "No" because Earth orbit was the only realistic option. The top 12 of 15 separated by 0.084 at the end of the day, excellent stuff.

18:10 Pro ET qualifying after session 4 Second pair and Steve Hudson made a big move, up from #25 to #9. Jon Turner followed him up the ladder next pair, up from #24 to #8. Dan Williams up from #15 to #2 three pairs later and yet another -0.000, this time with a 4 on the end. One almighty wheelie from Carla Pittau, it just went up and up and up and pretty much scraping the bumper and Carla did a great job of putting it down as gently as she could. Maybe we should make you pay for the webcam! We finish the day with the top 24 of 29 separated by 0.082, how good is that?

17:15 Super Street qualifying after session 3 Super Street new boy Chris Perkins moved up from #9 to #1 in the first pair, well done Chris! That's what oen of Simon's pit notes (qv) will do for you. Chris Kenny moved in to #2 spot from #8 next pair. That lasted all of one pair as Bob Lees then moved up from #8 to #2 in the next pair.

Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator qualifying after session 3 Entertainment in the first pair as Stu Williams let Alex McIntosh go first with a 0.137 RT, Alex spun the tyres and had to back off, then Stu left with an RT of 3.925 and chased Alex down getting there first by 0.003 and into the eights Another PB for Alan Williamson next pair, well done Alan! Fantastic run for Ian Hook, the off-season hard work starting to pay dividends. Good to see Jason Weir back on track, his first run of the year in this session. Front wheels up and rear tyres spinning, quite some feat to achieve simultaneously. Improvement for Brian Payne even though shut off very early - one suspects a bit of sandbagging going on there.

16:55 Super Street Bike qualifying after session 3 Fantastic run for Garry Bowe to take over #2 spot in the first pair, I bet that makes up for all of the aggro he suffered yesterday (see Simon's pit notes for more about that). Ven starting to wind it up to take over #1 spot in the third pair. 1.297 sixty foot for Dave Holland two pairs later presaged his taking over #1 spot with a new PB, well done Dutch! 1.291 for Nigel Barker next pair but no improvement in ET.

About fifty people gathered on the start line now so I guess Super Street Bike is next. 16:40 Super Modified qualifying after session 3 Andy Hone into #1 spot in the first pair. Deposed #1 Nigel Payne last to run, could he get hid top spot back? The answer was not quite, in fact by 0.004 so it was pretty close. An improvement but stayed in #2.

Looked like Gibb had his hands a bit full in the shutdown area, close to the guardrail, at yesterday's Test Day he had his hands a bit full in the shutdown area with a bounce on. 0.002 RT for John Atkinson next pair and up from #10 to #5. Into the sixes for Simon Rowland, no roll of the beams this time and up from #8 to #5. Well done Simon!

Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham Ellis' 'Cuda did not start and was pushed out of the way of Mick Payne's Camaro alongside which he was due to run. 1.075 to sixty for Mick, car was going great guns but then seemed to flatten out at the eighth 4.894/139.40. Andy lost drive a few feet off the line and stopped at about 1000 feet. Fantastic run for Wayne, 1.047 to sixty feet and 4.332/167.71 at the eighth, a new PB and into #1 spot. 1.229 to sixty for Roger to Nick's 1.226, the Superbird moved around its lane a little and from here it sounded as if Nick feathered the throttle. Roger had the better eighth 4.596/162.36 to 4.952/141.73, both stayed in place. Qualifying after this session:

Next pair and Jon Turner was the third racer today to record a -0.000 RT, this time with a 7 on the end. Another huge Stock/Super Stock wheelie from Carla Pittau to answer back her friends Bob and Tracey Doyle but ultimately broke out. Next big move was Keith Herbert, up from #19 to #6 in the last pair but four; next pair and Rick McCann moved up from #22 to #15. Next up, Dave Bailey took over the lead from #9 spot, in the other lane Gordon Northway moved up from #26 to #10.

Close thing between Stu Crane and Dave Peters as Stu crossed lanes taking out both 1000 foot reflectors, looked like the bikes were quite close before Stu pulled it straight.

14:15 Super Modified qualifying after session 2 A perfectly OK Peter Thompson popped up to visit us a short while ago and you will be able to read what he had to say about his crash in Simon's first tranche of pit notes which are due shortly. Pete asked us to say a big Thank You to the safety and medical crews for their response and care after his cresh. Consistent run for Nigel Payne, within 0.006 of his first round effort. Next pair and Craig Gibbs did exactly the same, ran within 0.006. Consistency being a race winner that's promising for both.

Cake consumed, another 8.9-second run for Pete Creswell, unusually running in the left lane. 8.924 for Dave Raper on top of his 8.925 in session 1, that guy knows his stuff.

14:05 Martin Hill followed Pro Modified with an 8.1801/166.61 in the Fireforce 3 Jet FC. The burner sounded even more vicious than normal but then hesitated off the line and Martin did the Jet FC equivalent of feathering the throttle, on and off the burner in the first eighth and then shut off before the stripe. Super Pro ET qualifying after session 2 Simon Rowland the first racer to make a big move after four pairs, up from #13 to #4 and rolled the beams very slightly so more to come there. Rod Harrison up from #11 to #2 with a fantastic pass, got to be close to his PB as well, well done to the Stardust team! In the other lane Bob Doyle pulled the front wheels way up, rivalling close friends Carla Pittau and Rick McCann in the Stock/Super Stock stakes, the Datsun headed for the centre line whilst wheelying but Bob calmly pulled it straight when it touched down and stayed with it, what a great driving job. Next pair and Dave Ward, who had been moved down to #11 by Rod Harrison, moved out of that spot and up to #4.

Certainly has the burnouts off-pat, straight and very noisy just the way we like it. Footbrake launch, 1.312 to sixty and 5.845/121.24 at the eighth, some smoke from the headers but a good straight pass. If you were wondering about the picture of Bert Englefield's 'Coupe on yesterday's gallery, what happened was that a sprag broke and locked the rear end turning the car hard left. Andy had shut off for shake anyway and so was only travelling at low speed so no more harm done. Nice run for Mick, 1.065 to sixty and 4.823/144.84 at the eighth, straight to the eight and a tiny bit of wandering in the second half. 1.341 to sixty for Andy, on and off the throttle as the Coupe moved about its lane some, 5.225/140.31 at the eighth. Nick tested here yesterday in Eurodragster.com sponsor Graham Ellis' turbo Superbird, just launches and shut off, but went much further today. 1.551 to sixty and 5.007/155.20 at the eighth, shut off before the stripe, best run so far for the new combination. 1.081 to the eighth for Watne, 4.395/163.07 at the eighth and shut off in the second half. Number one spot there for the taking for Graham or Roger. And take it Roger did, some spin off the line losing him time but 1.222 to sixty feet, 4.654/162.34 at the eighth, on it all the way. Tyres up in smoke and motor screaming for Graham, 1.280 to sixty, a few pumps of the throttle to try to hook up then blackstriping for about 100 at about 200 feet, on and off the throttle again, shut off by the eighth 5.971/98.39 at the eighth. Super Street Bike qualifying after session 1 re-run Great to see Wayne Saunders out on the start line for this session and hobbling a lot less than you'd expect after his spill at the Main Event. 7.937 came up for Steve Wood but Thomas Granica hit the finish line reflector and triggered the beam, Thomas' run DQd and Steve's discounted. Fantastic run for Graham Dance having blown his primary motor literally to pieces yesterday - I saw several of the pieces with my own eyes - and having put in his spare motor which had never run his current set-up. Well done G! No Graham Balchin this weekend, although entered for the race he had an unfortunate mountain bike/steep hill incident earlier this week and has his arm in a sling. Steve Wood having lost his run to Thomas Granica was subsequently given a re-run.

11:45 Super Modified qualifying after session 1 Excellent return to competition for Craig Gibbs after a checkout pass at yesterday's Peak Performance Day. Drama for Pete Thompson as the Chevelle took a right at about 1000 feet and hit the guardrail pretty much head-on, then bounced for a hit of the opposite guardrail before stopping about halfway down the shutdown area. That must have been quite some clout as the car was going 131 mph at 1000 feet. The safety crews had the top end gate open and were rolling before the car stopped, great response as ever. Word quickly came back that Peter is perfectly OK.

8:30 Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod Raceway for our coverage of the SPRC Summernationals brought to you in association with Alamo Rent-A-Car. The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line and broadcasting live video and commentary/Nitro FM audio stream. On that subject the Audiorealm.com audio-only stream of Nitro FM is not working right now so if you want to hear Nitro FM then right now this is the only place you can hear it. We had heavy rain overnight; that has now stopped and it is slowly brightening but the track is very wet and the crew are out there working hard to dry it. We have some good news for you in that our Pit Note reporter Simon is returning to the fold today. As you know we lost Simon at the Main Event and Sweden Internationals as he had to deal with a problem at home. Simon is very much looking forward to getting back out into the pits and we are very much looking forward to having him back. A big Thank You to Ed who stood in for Simon at the last couple of events and to Roger and Kirstie who also helped to spread the load by taking on extra work. What a great team we have.
