Today's events were very badly hit by the weather with a huge rain storm late morning which stopped everything for some hours. As soon as the rain stopped Santa Pod's hardworking track crew got the strip dry and there was a forty five-minute session under glorious sunny skies at 4:45.

The day started with a couple of unfortunate incidents. Two Old Skool Ford contestants had a coming together at the finish line as one car turned hard left and hit the other. Due to low relative speed the collision was not as bad as one would think and both drivers were OK, got themselves straight out of their cars as the safety crews sped to their aid. The recipient was back on the strip this afternoon sporting its war wound.

Not long after Steve Hall went for his final licencing pass in in his Pro Mod. The 'Vette started fishtailing and then got into a pendulum effect in the second half, getting badly out of shape and we saw both sides as the car went up on two wheels at high speed with headers grounding and stopping the car from tipping over. A great driving job by Steve kept the car out of real trouble, a tag of the guardrail did this minor damage. It could have been much worse.

As so few runs were made and so few racers ran we have again placed detailed mouse-over captions in today's photo gallery. There are twenty pictures in all; if you do not see all twenty updated thumbnails when you load the gallery page then click on your Browser's Refresh button.
