We haven't yet got a foolproof mounting for the webcam but we're getting there and if we can mug someone with some fuse wire or similar then we'll have a makeshift solution. Junior drag racing demonstration (left lane first): Junior Funny Car: Harry Gibson 8.4858/78.14 bye; Junior Drag Bike: Bradleigh Vardy 10.7801/57.60, Scott Collier 9.0322/68.08 15:15 Nostalgia Fuel Altered Association session 1 (left lane first): Joe Bond 15.9504/49.99 bye; Gary Page 6.6926/168.55 bye; Terri-Ann White 9.1217/95.86 bye; Joe's motor almost died before the burnout bue he kept it lit. 1.1095 to sixty feet then out of shape and off the throttle, likely a checkout pass. Drifting burnout for Gary, saw one side of the car more than the other in that one. Very nice run, 1.0501 to sixty feet, 4.2263/174.89 at the eighth, moving to the right some, shut off and chute out at about 1000 feet. Nice half pass for Terri-Ann, relatively gentle 1.2454 to sixty feet and shut off just before the eighth, 5.0384/126.61. 15:05 Top Fuel Bike test session (left lane first): Christian Jäger shut off (bye); First time out on the Supertwin for Christian. Nice burnout but then instructed to shut off before staging. 14:55 MSA Pro Modified qualifying session 1 (left lane first): Jean Dulamon 6.7707/208.01 bye; Roger Moore 7.6376/148.16 bye; Graham Ellis 12.1193/63.89, Andy Robinson 14.3202/60.94; Mick Payne 7.9898/171.09 bye Very nice drifting burnout for Jean. Sounded like a slight misfire on the launch, 1.0718 to sixty feet and 4.4176/164.83 at the eighth. Roger's Viper crept the beams before he hit it, 1.5675 to sixty wasn't repreasentative as the car was really moving. 169.92 at the eighth the shut off and chutes out. Eurodragster.com sponsor v Eurodragster.com sponsor in the pair. Ironically after Roger Moore had just run it was Graham Ellis had a tilt at the Christmas Tree in the burnout but pulled it back in time. 1.0588 to sixty for Andy and then big shake and he shut off. 1.3850 to sixty for Graham, either that was a gentle pass to bed stuff in or the car was not responding. Didn't sound as if it was driving through the clutch. Either way Graham was off the throttle pretty quickly and idled down the track. Mick left from idle, still a 1.0868 soxty foot time, headed for the right guardrail but stayed with it. Qualifying after this session:

Next pair and a fantastic run by Rod Harrison, up from #15 to #1 in one go whilst in the other lane Roy Wilding came in at #5 off the trailer. John Atkinson up from #7 to #4 next pair. Craig Own in at #10 in Mark Flavell's FC, that was with a hesitation off the line and a feather of the throttle in the second half. First outing for Paula Atkin trying the nitrous for the first time on this car, storming 1.047 sixty foot time then shut off at about 300 feet, very nice run. We then had another power failure. Ian Powell put in another observed run in his dragster, straight as you like and all looked OK. Jayne Kay made it to the line this session after a tyre was punctured in the pairing lanes before session 1. Jayne's crew asked us to thank Dave Bryant and Laurie Gatehouse for their help in getting the car re-shod. Another switch of the power at the end of the session.

First look at Reiner van Schelt's blown pick-up on his first observed run, a very nice car and a very competent burnout and launch. First look also at Ian Powell's dragster, a very nice-looking piece it is. 300 foot run then chute deployed.

7:00 Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod for our coverage of the Autotrader Easter Thunderball brought to you in association with Alamo Rent-A-Car. The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam will be going on-line very shortly and will be streaming live with commentary and Nitro FM audio. We are grateful to David Anniwell of Santa Pod's Tech Crew and Julian Parsons of Nitro FM for helping us to set up the Nitro FM injection. It's a beautiful day here at Santa Pod, sunny and springlike. Qualifying is scheduled to commence at 9:30 with Pro ET; three cycles of Sportsman qualifying are scheduled today with Pro Modified due to appear once at 14:30. We are grateful to those who sent feedback on the webcam whilst we were testing the audio stream yesterday. As today is the first full day of live use it is probably sensible to expect the occasional teething problem which we will fix as soon as we can. The main issues which came up yesterday were bright sunlight washing out the picture in the second eighth, which our good friend Julian Hunt is remedying by supplying a polarising filter, and the sound pausing for brief moments which then puts it slightly out of sync with the picture. A quick Ctrl and R should sort that out if it gets too much. Maikel Gloudemans from our server provider Douyousee.me will be here tomorrow and will advise on any issues.
