11:50 Super Pro ET qualifying after session 2 #16 to #10 for Eurodragster.com sponsor Chris Isaacs in the second pair. Looks like a PB for Marck Harteveld, 8.1191 on an 8.13 dial-in but his crew were very happy with it. Into the sevens for John Bradshaw in the Project Zed Nissan, in the other lane Steve Taylor came in at #8 with his first run of the day. Identical 0.0374 RTs for Roy Wilding and Dave Townsend in their match-up. Next pair and Nick Good moved from #26 to #14. A couple of pairs later we got our first on-track look at Paula Atkin's former Pro Stock Mustang - Paula was here on Sunday but didn't get to run. A beautiful piece of work it is too. Paula put in a 9.4186 checkout half pass. Final licencing pass attempt for Jayne Kay, the car's former owner Dan Larsen was an interested spectator. Jayne was off the throttle at about 330 feet.

10:25 Super Pro ET qualifying after session 1 Rene Ehrismann was the next to have a go at the Eurodragster.com/Gold RV Perfect ET Award in taking #1 spot +0.0010 on dial-in. Big but brief fire for Brendan Clancy at the end of his burnout, looked like a fuel line judging by the trail of fire behind the car. The safety crew were there in moments and got the fire out and Brendan out of the car very quickly. Brendan is A-OK.

Trackside conditions are 19.0 C, 69% humidity and air pressure of 29.56 inches. 09:40 Pro ET qualifying after session 1 In the fifth pair there was a huge cloud of smoke from Keith Herbert's Fury which obscured the car for several seconds, luckily the car appeared out of the smoke intact and going straight. The shutdown area was checked and the track crew were called to clean a trail of fluid extending down the shutdown area. On the re-start Bob Molden got very close to the Eurodragster.com/Speedflow Perfect Light Award with a 0.0012 RT. A few pairs later Dan Williams had a good go at the Eurodragster.com/Gold RV Perfect ET Award in taking #1 spot +0.0010 on dial-in.

08:00 Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod Raceway for our coverage of the FIA European Finals brought to you in association with American Car Imports. The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line and will be streaming live video and audio until the track closes. As things stand the webcam will be providing trackside audio; if you were tuned in yesterday evening you will have heard how badly the testing of the commentary/Nitro FM feed went. We have formulated a solution but need to get a few bits and pieces together to put it in place which might not be until the end of the day. So please enjoy the natural sounds of drag racing today and hopefully we will have the commentary and Nitro FM audio fixed for tomorrow. It's a nice day here at Santa Pod, a mixture of cloud and blue sky. Trackside conditions are 13.8 C, 97% humidity (sensor waterlogged from dew I think) and the air pressure is 29.50 inches. Qualifying is due to start at 09:00 with Pro ET. Today's running order has five cycles of qualifying scheduled but I would not be at all surprised if that were extended if everything goes smoothly.
