The track will be open for Straightliners for another hour and a quarter or so, so we will keep the webcam running for as long as the track is open. We will start work on today's pictures very shortly so stay tuned for those. 16:40 Super Street Bike qualifying after session 4 Thomas Granica up from #15 to #10 with a big improvement in the first pair. Next pair and an improvement for Wayne Saunders but he stayed in #5 at that point. Two pairs later and another improvement for Garry Bowe, a PB or close to it we think, well done Garry!

14:45 Chris Hannam and Rene van den Berg paired up on their Supertwin and Top Fuel Bikes. Tremendous pairing especially for Cannon, on the throttle all the way with several feet of header flames up in the air and a new PB certainly on this bike of 7.1410/175.79, well done Cannon! 7.1468/181.42 for Rene. Word came back from the top end that Rene's bike has suffered some damage due to a broken chain, Rene is quite OK. We're back into Straightliners and RWYB, the final Championship qualifying session is scheduled for 16:00. 14:40 Funny Bike qualifying after session 3 It all came together spectacularly well for Tim Blakemore on this pass and he has surely earned it. Well done Tim and Wendy! There's more to come from the Kawasaki-backed bike, too, as Tim feathered the throttle not far off the line and also sounded to back off a touch early.

14:35 Super Street Bike qualifying after session 3 Fantastic run from Dave Smith to open the session, into #1 spot and a new PB of course, and the 198.81 is a new SSB speed record backed up by his earlier 197.17. Well done Dave! An improvement for Wayne Saunders but he stayed in place. As he did last session Ven just came straight back at the new #1 qualifier with an even better pass to take #1 back again. Big move for Chris Reed in the last pair, up from #16 to #8. Definitely one of the best SSB qualifying sessions I have ever seen!

12:15 2010 ACU UK Top Fuel Bike Champion Rene van den Berg followed Funny Bike. Slight embarrassment as his petrol bottle turned out to be empty when he went to fire the motor. After a quick refill from the start line crew Rene put in a 7.1032/206.26, sounded as if the motor ran out of puff a bit in the second half. We're now back to Straightliners and then lunch, the next Championship qualifying session is due at 14:00. 12:10 Funny Bike qualifying after session 2 Great run for Gary Jones, good for #2 spot in the first pair. Big improvement also for Dave Bailey in the other lane, up from #4 to #3.

12:05 Super Street Bike qualifying after session 2 New PB for Wayne Saunders in the second pair, well done Wayne! Leisurely sixty foot time, too, so plenty more in that bike. Big improvement for Graham Balchin, #16 to #9 next pair, after suffering a huge half-track wheelie in session one. Next pair and Rich Stubbins blasted into #1 spot, I think a PB to boot, well done Rich! A brief stop for moisture in the air and then on the restart another PB for Dave Holland with a big speed, well done Dutch! Mark Wells' crew were very happy with his run so I guess a PB, #13 to #11 on that pass as well. Great to see Eurodragster.com sponsor Jamie Sneddon back on the track where he belongs, very squirrely pass though. Ven last to run, could he answer Rich Stubbins' improvement? Yes he could, back into #1 spot with a great pass. Quickest sixty foot of the day too at 1.2735.

11:55 Comp Bike qualifying after session 2 Ivan Birch in at #1 in the first pair and a squeak below the class speed record. Great to see Lizz McCarthy get down the track after all of the previous problems. Improvement for Dave Peters even with tyre shake but he stayed in #3 at that point. Excellent run for Bob Brooks moved him up from #6 to #2. Shaun Rodman and John Hunt moved to Comp Bike for this weekend and opened their accounts in this session. John's bike dropped something, looked like a wheelie bar side panel, both got close to the centre line.

9:00 Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod Raceway for our coverage of the Extreme Performance Bike Weekend brought to you in association with American Car Imports. The Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam is on-line and will be streaming live video and, to begin with, trackside audio. We will be experimenting with the commentatry stream at some point during today. Right now it's overcast with a very light mist, but I'd say that visibility is a mile so it won't be an issue here. Once the sun gets up a bit more this should all burn off anyway. Qualifying is due to start with 9.50 Bike at 9:30. There are four qualifying sessions scheduled today, with Straightliners and RWYB in between. Stay tuned and as soon as the bikes start to move we'll bring you the numbers.
