We have now posted today's pictures, which you can view via the Event Index page. There are 190 pictures in all; if you do not see all 190 thumbnails when you load the gallery page then click on your Browser's Refresh button.

We are very privileged to include in today's gallery Sharkman's last set of top end photographs. As you may know Sharkman, Eurodragster.com's former Photo Editor, is hanging up his camera and very kindly offered us the best of today's output including a sequence of Ingo Rolla and David Vegter's accident. A huge Thank You to Sharkman, thanks for all the great memories, and we're very glad that we'll still be seeing you at the track.

Qualifying re-starts to 09:00 tomorrow morning; tune back then and we'll bring you all the news.

Graham Ellis 6.3831/223.31 bye; Roger Moore 7.8091/135.23, Robert Koper 9.8345/88.19; Norbert Kuno 13.3333/87.71, Kev Slyfield 9.5649/91.97; Marco Maurischat 6.7378/185.19, Bert Englefield 6.8321/207.04;

Graham rolled the beams very slightly, reflected in the 1.1693 sixty foot time, so that run was even quicker than this. 180.49 at half track. Roger M brought the number of cars qualified up to seventeen, giving us a proper bump spot. Gentle-looking baseline run for Roger, spitting flame from the exhausts at each gear change. Robert got to sixty in 1.1049 but then hit shake and shut off. Instant, violent, all four wheels off shake for Norbert, one pedal and another jump so he got off it. 1.0451 to sixty for Kev but then hit shake about 120 feet out, the Willys made a hard right move and Kev shut it off. Marco and Bert both drove through shake, Bert very close to the centre line but stayed with it, Eurodragster.com sponsor Marco's 'Vette was on a good one but made a move right at about 900 feet and he shut off.

Exhaust Coating Pro Mod Challenge round 1:

Bruno Bader 6.1370/227.92 def. Micke Lindahl 6.3677/228.04

Andy Robinson 9.7149/103.11 def. Mats Eriksson 8.2308/115.07 DQ

Mats rolled the beam very slightly going up on the two-step and pulled a -0.3147 red light handing victory to Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy. Shake for both, both cars heading to the left and Andy getting close to the guardrail.

Patrick Wikström 6.1618/231.38 def. Urban Johansson 19.8832/40.47 DQ

-0.2676 red for Urban handing it to Patrik. Urban in any case hit violent shake and the Vette made a big move so he shut off. 1.0049 to sixty for Patrick, 4.0425/184.87 at half track and into #4 spot.

Roger Johansson 6.1559/228.15 def. Micke Gullqvist 6.6264/179.93

Micke away first 0.0891 to 0.1926, Micke drove through shake but it was enough for Roger to get past him, 4.0047 to half track to Micke's 4.2350, both cars moving around their lanes but Roger took it by 0.3670. Roger blasting his own European best for a Nitrous Pro Mod, well done Roger!

Tony Betts no time, John Wright 6.4842/208.98; Dave Grabham 8.6641/120.44, Bob Glassup 7.4711/177.13

1.1207 to sixty feet for John, 1.0308 for Tony with front wheels up, when the front wheels came down they looked skewiff from here, one of Tony's rear tyres smoked and one hooked up pitching the car hard left into the guardrail. The body came off the car flying up into the air and the chassis bounced off the rail, continuing down the track and coming to rest at finish line. The safety crews got moving with astounding speed, letting John Wright come past yet still getting to Tony's car as it stopped, great job guys. Tony was taken to the Medical Centre to be checked out but is A-OK.

100-foot burnouts from Dave and Bob on the re-start. Nice straight run for Bob, 1.0909 to sixty feet and 4.6728/192.18 at the eighth, 1.1167 to sixty for Dave, his altered drifting to the right and ultimately taking out the eighth-mile reflector.

Long burnouts for Jarmo and Danny too, then a shake and pedalfest. 0.9912 to sixty feet for Jarmo then shake, 1.0482 for Danny who was already shaking by that time. Something came off Jon's dragster at 300 feet, not clear what it was. 0.8887 to sixty for Anita, 0.8860 for Jöran and then his chutes came out - the shake didn't look that bad so maybe the blower panel went as I believe that Stig's cars are carrying the new shut-off devices. 3.2850/185.14 to the eighth for Anita and then from here the motor showed signs of a broken blower belt. 0.8466 to sixty feet for Andy to Micke's 0.8720 but then both hit shake simultaneously and both shut off at just about the same moment.

Historic pairing to close the session, 1.0393 to sixty for Mats to Eurodragster.com sponsor Andy's 1.0295, 3.9511/191.23 to half track for Mats to Andy's 3.9868/187.73 even after driving through shake. Well done Mats on the first-ever European Pro Mod five-second pass, and well done Andy on a new PB.

0.0878 RT for Esko, 1.0007 to sixty to Paul Ingar's 0.1192 and 0.9188, a great pass for Esko with all the candles lit, 3.7619/211.90 at half track to Paul Ingar's 3.5888/200.02, then a big cloud of smoke from Paul Ingar's motor but he looked to stay with it. New Personal Best for Esko, well done Esko! Alas a big splat of oil in Paul Ingar's lane at the finish line.

Clean-up complete Rob and Dennis faced off. 0.9235 to sixty feet for Rob and 0.9009 for Dennis, then shake for both, Dennis' dragster veered towards the centre line, Dennis pedalled and then got back on the throttle, sounded like the blower relief panel popped at about 1000 feet. Rob was off the throttle by about 250 feet. Fred was on his way back from the burnout before Eurodragster.com sponsor Derek appeared around the corner but Derek did back up very quickly from his own burnout so Fred not kept waiting. Derek's tyres up in smoke at the hit and the Gold RV dragster turned right so Derek got off the throttle. 0.9291 to sixty feet for Fred, driving through the acceptable level of Top Methanol shake, 3.5586/213.91 at half track and into #1 spot. A big Hello to Tim Read who is tuned in from the USA. 0.9563 to sixty feet for Krister, some shake and then tyres up in smoke at 300 feet and Krister shut off. 0.9491 to sixty for Peter, hardly any shake at all, 3.6265/211.90 at half track and into #2 spot. Very brief burnout for Grumpy, no obvious burnout so maybe he figured that the track and his tyres were warm enough already. Grumpy's tyres up in smoke at the hit, sounded like he tried to pedal bu he was off the hard pedal by the Tree. 0.8987 to sixty feet for Timo and 3.5882/209.50 at half track.

0.9506 to sixty feet for Jarmo and but then bad shake and a hard move left, taking out the 330 foot reflector. Gentle launch for Steph, 1.1628 to sixty feet, driving through shake then looked to be off the throttle before half track. 0.9550 to sixty feet for Danny to Dan's 0.9982, both hit shake and both drifted for the centre line and pedalled, Danny stayed off it but Dan got back on the gas and was looking good until there was a cloud of smoke from the motor at about 900 feet and Dan put the chutes out. Track checked and all found to be OK. 0.9790 to sixty feet for Leif, 0.9821 for Ulf, Ulf hit shake and then the engine revs went up and Ulf got off the throttle. 3.7631/195.38 to half track for Leif and the usual bounce but he stayed with it and went into #1 spot.

Much better run for Anita than the test passes last week. 0.8907 to sixty feet, off the throttle just before half track, 3.3097/225.33. Jöran in Stig's ssecond dragster rather than his own car so we were expecting a familiarisation pass. shake for Jöran, 0.9256 to sixty feet and looked to have a cylinder or two out, the car moved left and Jöran shut off. 0.8634 to sixty feet for Stig, 3.2282/255.66 to the eighth, blackstriping all the way and a new PB, well done Stig! Andy already Champion going into this race but you can bet your life that he wants to write his name all over the event anyway. 0.8687 to sixty feet for Micke, 0.8442 for Andy, shake for Micke and he shut off before half track, 3.2447/251.39 at half track for Andy and staying with it, a big puff of smoke from the Lucas Oil car right on the finish line but track checked and found to be OK and another #1 spot for the multiple Champion.

Great run for Eero, 0.9977 to sixty feet and 4.3615 at half track, new Personal Best ET, well done Eero! Kenneth;'s car carrying the words "For Sale" in shoe white, that's a real pity. Kenneth drove through shake, 1.0156 to sixty feet, 1.0945 for Harald, 4.4245/158.76 at the eighth for Kenneth, 4.6284 for Harald but he shut off at that point. Jonas due some good luck after a torrid season. Big holeshot for Jonas 0.0812 to 0.4392, 1.0316 to sixty feet to Micke's 1.0202, Jonas' motor was smoking all the way down the track but obviously nothing serious wrong from the ET. Micke's car just seemed to be lacking grunt from half track, 4.5628 to Jonas' 4.4285, but he has a time on the board. 1.0168 to sixty feet for Tommy but then the car looked to hesitate for a moment, maybe a missed gear, 0.0810 RT for Jan, 1.0290 to sixty feet and 4.3821/163.94 at the eighth. I'm guesing a new PB for Jan. Michael pulled up to the staging area and then reversed and lined up again. Great match-up between Michael and Richard and the first half of a European speed record for Richard, well done Richard! 0.9996 to sixty for Michael, 1.0194 for Richard, Richard had the better half track 4.3447 to 4.3511. What a stormer for Jimmy, 0.0093 RT, 0.9871 to sixty feet, 4.2785/164.00 at the eighth and the first half of new European ET and speed records, well done Jimmy! 0.0990 RT for Magnus, 1.0182 to sixty feet but shut off by half track.

Gary lost fire after the burnout, one go at a re-start which didn't work then sent back. 1.0797 to sixty feet for Rush but the bike was heading for the guardrail so he had to feather the throttle a couple of times. Nice baseline for Bob, 1.1945 to sixty feet and 5.0215 to half track. Nice straight pass for Steve C, 1.1983 to sixty feet and 4.6680/161.33 at half track. Very clean and straight run for Steve W and into #1 at that point, 1.1176 to sixty feet and 4.2700/176.05 at the eighth. Michal's bike hesitated and sounded to be misfiring, a straight and undramatic pass for Otto, he'll be in the sevens before you know it. What a tremendous pass from Peter, the first five-second TFB pass in UEM competition. 1.0418 at sixty feet, 3.9673 at a huge 195.02 at the eighth, and the bike was fishtailing a lot and Peter really had his hands full, so when it goes straight there is more there. New European records set up, well done Peter and Sören! Sverre's rear slick went up in smoke after sixty feet, he feathered the throttle and got back with it. Kai was on and off the throttle after 1.1095 sixty foot, no such problems for Rikard who put down a good baseline, 1.1223 to sxty and 4.3687 at the eighth. Ian King your 2009 FIM/UEM Top Fuel Bike Champion having passed tech, congratulations Ian! Ian celebrated with a big PB ET, 1.0770 to sixty feet and 4.0364/195.03 at the eighth, well done Ian! Rene's slick went up in smoke and he had to feather the throttle.

Good baseline for Turbo, 1.3623 to sixty feet and 5.1418 at half track. Roel rode through very visible tyre shake and had to feather the throttle, 4.4854/167.91 at the eighth and a very happy crew. 1.1984 to sixty feet for Cannon, 4.5891/154.68 at the eighth and then starting to drift for the centre line, shut off at about 900 feet. Nice baseline for Samu, 1.2757 to sixty feet and 4.8674/157.39 at the eighth. Matt's crew looked to have a job on to push his bike back after the burnout. Matti got a big jump 0.2004 to 0.5821, 1.1587 to sixty feet to Svein Olav's 1.3563, 4.5412 to the eighth for Matti but then there was a bang and a body panel came off the bike at about 900 feet. Svein Olav had a cylinder go out and he shut off. Hans Olav was pumped, he positively slammed his visor down in pre-stage and then an absolutely picture-perfect pass, front wheel in the air for most of the run, 1.1638 to sixty feet and 4.4871 at half track. Nitro flames visible even in the sun. Not so good for Job, looked like a cylinder out, lots of vapour from the headers. Tremendous pass for Lo, 1.1517 to sixty feet, 4.3466/179.74 at half track, front wheel down in the second half. Per's slick went up in smoke at the hit. Two of the best Supertwin runs I have ever seen in two pairings! Having not started earlier Greger had another go, nice baseline pass, 1.2170 to sixty feet and 4.9326 at the eighth.

A great first run in UEM competition for Dave, a squeak from the European ET record and a great baseline pass! Nice first run at Santa Pod for Gert-Jan and plenty more to come there. 1.1644 to sixty feet for Ray, no sixty foot time showing for Len but a good baseline. New PB for Anders to open his account, nice one Anders! We think maybe a PB for Martin too, well done Bish! 0.0750 to 0.0897 RTs for Fredrik and Ulf, Ulf was feathering the throttle and shut off early so plenty more to come there.

Pro ET qualifying after session 8:

Charlie Chivers up from #15 to #10 in the first pair. Pel Norman up from #23 to #15 and in the other lane Hans van der Spek into the ladder at #30. At that point you had to be +0.0874 on dial-in to be racing in tomorrow's first round, and let's not forget that that is 32 cars! A couple of spots for Billy Gane, #28 to #26 next pair out. Heide Page next into the ladder at #31 from #39 and the magic number was now +0.0761 on dial-in. Joe Williams having been bumped out earlier came back in at #29, +0.0667 now what you need to do to be racing tomorrow evening. Carla Pittau and Rick McCann back from an overnight trip home to fix the rear end on Heaven and Hell As Well, Carla turning out in this session and pulling a 0.0028 RT, and what I think is a best for Heaven and Hell of 9.7218, well done Carla! An improvement for Marius Blackburn but he stayed in #2. Next pair and Liz Malcolm moved up from #21 to #3. Perfect Light for Matt Attwood next pair, 0.0005, in the other lane Kim Bishop moved up to #25 and the bump spot was then +0.0545.

Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod Raceway for our coverage of the FIA European Finals brought to you in association with American Car Imports.

The Webster Race Engineering/Lex Joon Racing USA Tour 2009 webcam is on-line and is scheduled to post a picture every sixty seconds.

It's another beautiful day here at Santa Pod. A bit of a morning chill but the sun is on its way up. Right now trackside conditions are 9.5 C, 92% humidity and 30.27 inches of air.

We must say a big Thank You to Andy and Sharon Williamson and Nev and Libby Mottershead for hospitality late last night. That was probably the last evening this weekend on which we'll have even ten minutes to socialise, so thanks very much guys. A big Thank You also to Ray Comer for the box of doughnuts, which won't last long.

Some more Eurodragsterholics have been in touch with us, so we are pleased to say a big Hello to Ulf 'Totte' Lindqvist in Sweden; Ivar Kolberg in Norway; Claire Meaddows in the West Country; Ful Lievaart in Naaldwijk, The Netherlands; Paul Castle in Eindhoven, The Netherlands; Liam, Mike and Sharon Holt in Goole; Shaun Saunders (the Shaun Saunders) in Arizona; and Magnus Cato in Sweden.

A big Hello also to Class 9 of Denfield Park Junior School who Jeanette Webster tells us will be tuning in throughout the day and who can hear the racing from their classroom!

Thanks for all the nice things you said guys and good to hear you are tuned in and enjoying the coverage. Another Hello to all those stuck at their day jobs today, we promise that we will do everything we can to make your day go better guys.

Today's schedule has Sportsman qualifying commencing at 09:00-10:30, the first round of Pro qualifying at 10:30-13:00, Sportsman qualifying at 11:00-14:30, Pro qualifying at 14:30-17:00 and then Sportsman qualifying from 17:00-18:00.
