It's not often that we comment on anything here at Eurodragster.com but quite apart from what this implies about DRs which I don't pretend to understand it is absolutely ridiculous that we, the commentators and anyone else should have to check which tyres someone is running before knowing whether or not to credit them with a record. 10:00 9.50 Bike qualifying session 4: An improvement for Richard Beck in the third pairing but he stayed in #8 at that point. Consistency from #3 Phil Pratt with a 9.5175 in the fourth pair. Fred Furlong up from #11 to #7 next pair. Mark Slade ten into the 9.5s and into #10 spot, Jon Webster seems to have real problems with the TBR bike this weekend, labouring in the other lane. Jemma Venables' first run of the weekend got her into the ladder with one qualifying session to go.

9:50 VW Sportsman qualifying session 4: A big move for Martin Ayton from #11 to #6 in the first pairing pushing Polly Naylor down to #7. Mark Skeen up from #14 to #10 in the next pairing, in the other lane another nice RT from Abi Tether but pushed down to #11. Jacob Bailey into #1 spot in the next pairing, of all the people to have in the other lane it was former #1 Luke Stevenson getting a grandstand view. Paul Herbert then up to #2 in the next pair. A big jump for Dave Bridge next, #15 to #5. Next pairing and Russ Weir moved up from #16 to #1 and getting close to the Eurodragster.com/Gold RV money. The top ten separated by 0.0860, what a great session!

7:45 Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod Raceway for our coverage of the 2009 Big Bang in association with American Car Imports. The Webster Race Engineering/Lex Joon Racing USA Tour 2009 webcam is on-line and is posting a picture every sixty seconds. It's a beautiful day here at Santa Pod, bright sunshine and hardly a cloud in the sky. We can highly recommend jumping in the car or on the bike and getting over here because it's going to be a great day's racing. We'll bring you the trackside conditions soon as - due to crass incompetence and alarming ineptitude on the part of your reporter - the weather station sensor has been in the sun since dawn. 8:15 Trackside conditions are 10.6 C, 61% humidity and 29.44 inches of air. Only a few weeks now guys and Ed I'm still looking at that small room in the caravan and rubbing my chin.
