This was what we saw when we looked out of the caravan this morning. Oh dear...

...and it pretty quickly became clear that without a miracle we wouldn't be racing today. However one miracle reportedly happened on this day a couple of thousand years ago so to expect another on the same day was a bit greedy and we were called off at 10:30.

The track crew were concerned about the snow turning to ice overnight tonight...

...so they sprung into action to clear the track.

The track crew weren't too busy to pause for a moment to welcome a new team member.

Santa Pod Raceway's promotional team were quick to spot the potential for some different pictures...

...track crew member Ben patiently sat in the dragster in the cold whilst your reporter snapped away.

Sleeping Super Street cars woke up to a blanket of snow.

Gino Bernadine's Pro ET Escort also had a fair covering.

Cue "Walking In The Air" and they'll take off in a moment.

One, two, three...run!

Rob Stanley and Heide Page give drag racing a whole new meaning for Anna Stanley.

Ian Brown had a brush, with a couple of Pro ET racers.

Just a normal day for Team Z Case, getting ready to snow-bomb Jack Brewster...

...deluding themselves that no-one would notice the difference, the Z Case team placed an effigy of Jack on his quad. We are ashamed to admit that certain of the Eurodragster.com staff were involved in this outrage.

"Put a beard on it and it could be Jack", said Tracey Doyle.

The Shockwave Fuel FC has a new design for 2008.

Showtime Fuel FC Crew Chief Bob Jarrett in the team's new and well-appointed trailer, with the FC within reach over his right shoulder.

On the Showtime team's to-do list: work on the set-up, and watch Shrek The Third.

The Showtime Mustang body sat patiently in the cold whilst the team and chassis luxuriated in the warmth of the trailer.

Jari Halinen and Simo Patoharju of the Mab Bomber Top Fuel Dragster team were philosophical about what could, but hopefully won't, turn out to be a wasted journey from Finland.

Tuner Alan Jackson working on the timers of Derek Flynn's Top Fuel ride.

Top Fuel Dragster racer Lex Joon received this traditional chocolate gift for his fiftieth birthday.

We sampled a piece of Lex's birthday cake on behalf of drag racing fans everywhere and it was delicious.

Lex asked and asked and asked...

...so seeing as it was his birthday Gerda allowed him to wheel out the MPM Oil dragster in its new colours.

Ken of Steve Carey's Top Fuel Bike team spotted the snow chains on Ian Turburville's Top Fuel Bike.

"Please hurry up and take the picture before I freeze onto the handlebars!"

Graham Ellis kindly allowed Kirstie to sit in the seat of his new Pro Mod and this is the driver's eye view. Check out that injector and supercharger pretty prominent in your field of vision.

As ever with an Andy Robinson Race Cars-built car there are a lot of nice touches including the pentagon on the fuel and oil tank cover.
