We have now posted today's pictures, which you can view via the Event Index page. Tune back in the morning and we will bring you all the news from what promises to be a frenetic qualifying session and fast-paced eliminations.

18:00

The rain has not stopped so Race Director Robin Shone has called a halt for today. The weather forecast for tomorrow is a lot better so the plan is to start at 9:00 in the morning and qualify all the remaining classes, and then to go straight into eliminations.

We are now working on today's pictures, stay tuned.

Having run two observed passes yesterday, Dave Crunckhorn (aka Crunch), Martyn Jones' crew chief, obtained his license with an 8.148/157.32, well done Crunch!

Pat Talbot suffered what sounded like a nitrous blowback at 330 foot, a large bang coming from the 601ci Chrysler motor.

Derek Flynn of news sponsor Gold RV broke out by four thousandths but ran a 6.796/193.34 on a 6.80 dial in for a best time for the new TMD car, well done Derek!

Roy Wilding is racing in the S&K dragster and ran a 8.541/162.43 in his first run in a dragster with the engine behind him.

Another shower has come along to spoil the drying effort and clouds continue to hover threateningly over the track. We will update you when conditions look more promising.

It's one of those days. The track was almost dry and then it started to rain again. This time, the shower was briefer and the track crew are once again working hard to get rid of the wet stuff. Stay tuned.

Good morning and welcome from Santa Pod Raceway. It’s qualifying day at the SPRC Summernationals and we’re here to bring you all the news in association with American Car Imports. The Webster Race Engineering/MPM Oil webcam is on-line throughout the weekend and is broadcasting a picture every two minutes.

Unfortunately it's started to rain heavily - we could see it coming down the shut down area towards us. The track sweeper has started its work and hopefully we will be back with you later. .
