Super Pro ET racer John Everitt is racing this weekend in tribute to his late son Oliver. A dodgy oil seal on a Super Pro ET dragster resulted in a huge oildown, the racer concerned was mortified. Joachim Riemer ended up seventh in Supertwin qualifying. The Jones and Friend team had a nightmare in Top Fuel Bike qualifying, making one run in three attempts. Funny Bike racer Tim Blakemore and his friend Bob the Builder. Eero Knihtilä is #1 in Pro Stock qualifying and very kindly recommended us to The Fab Shop Headers as a News sponsor. Magnus Hansson ran a 6.8909 on this Pro Stock qualifying pass. The top end safety crew helped Tommi Haapanen to get his Top Fuel Dragster packed up and off the track. Micke Kågered lost a blower burst panel and stopped in the shutdown area during today's first Top Fuel qualifying session. Jöran Persåker's blower was split clean in two during this morning's Top Fuel qualifying session. Steph Milam had to be rescued from the field at the end of the shutdown area after her parachutes didn't deploy at 211 mph. Freddy Fagerström sorted out his launch RPMs and blasted back into the 5.7s in Top Methanol FC qualifying. Today's first TMFC qualifier didn't work out too well for either Leif Andréasson or Ulf Leanders but Leif came back big time in the last session taking the lead with a 5.7132. Rob Turner got into the 5.4s in today's second Top Methanol Dragster qualifying session. Still no word on what the "We love Sabra" stickers are about, in this case on Gordon Appleton's Pro Mod. If you look closely you will notice a rather substantial part of Andy Robinson's bonnet missing after a blower cough in Pro Mod qualifying. Leif Helander blew away his Personal Best with a 5.3620/284.98 in the Starkotter Fuel FC. Martin Hill followed up with another 270+ mph blast in the Fireforce 3 Jet Funny Car. Fredrik Fredlund is propping up the eight-bike Pro Stock Bike field. It all got a bit twisty for Lorenz Stäble during Supertwin qualifying. Luigi Ferretti is head-to-head with Ian King and Rikard Gustavsson for the FIM/UEM Top Fuel Bike Championship. Neil Midgley's Top Fuel Bike qualifying weekend was a frustrating one until today's first session when he got into the eight-bike field. Outgoing FIM/UEM Top Fuel Bike Champion Rikard Gustavsson has been running consistent 6.6s in qualifying. Jan Palmqvist made his first six-second pass in Pro Stock qualifying. Jimmy Ålund is one of two Pro Stock racers in the 6.80s and is qualified second. Janne Ahonen was this weekend's DNQ in Top Fuel Dragster. Urs Erbacher's team confirmed that this morning's 4.8 was a (relatively) conservative banker to get into the top eight. Andy Carter equalled the quickest-ever Top Fuel Dragster pass in Europe, Kim Reymond's 4.645 which was also tuned by Karsten and Per Andersen. Jarmo Kuutniemi clocked a Personal Best 5.9049 for fifth in TMFC qualifying. Bruno Bader got quicker and quicker with a couple of 6.3s in Pro Mod qualifying today. Micke Lindahl's 6.1101 is the quickest-ever pro Mod pass in Europe and also features the first three-second eighth mile. Keith Herbert's gorgeous AFX got as far as round two of Pro ET.
